Cell Research got all impact factor of 3. 426, which was the highest Chinese SCI journal, but ranked 4th by journal's h index. By analyzing the cites and citations of Cell Research from 1999-2006 using the method of bibliometrics, four main characteristics of Cell Research were found:①The quantity of papers published Oil Cell Research is low and their quality is hish. ②Advantageous opening, with authorship patterns, editorial members and peer reviewers from home and abroad. ③Journal published in English is easy to perform international academic exchange. ④International operation model also played an important role in Cell Research's success.

Objective To establish the method for determination of borax in food by RP-HPLC. Methods Borax in food was extracted by acid methanol followed by turmeric acetic acid derivation and then detected by HPLC. Symmtry C18(150 mm?4.6 mm, 5 ?m) was used as the stationary phase, methanol-water (80+20) as the mobile phase, the detection wavelength was 550 nm. Results The detection limit was 6.4 ng/kg, the relative error was 2.3%, the recovery rates were between 90.63% and 96.88%, the liner range of the borax was 0.032-0.32 ?g/ml, the regressive equation of calibration curve was y=3 210 000x+121 000, r=0.999 2. Conclusion The present method is simple, rapid, accurate with satisfactory results.

Objective To evaluate the effects of hydrogen-rich saline on inflammatory responses in the sciatic nerve and spinal cord of rats with neuropathic pain (NP).Methods Ninety male adult Sprague-Dawley rats,weighing 180-220 g,were randomly divided into three groups (n=30 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (group S);NP group;hydrogen-rich saline group (group H).NP was induced by chronic constrictive injury.The animals were anesthetized with intraperitoneal 10％ chloral hydrate 300 mg/kg.The left sciatic nerve was exposed and ligated with 4-0 silk at 1 mm intervals.After ligation of the sciatic nerve,hydrogen-rich saline (0.6 mmol/L) 10 ml/kg was injected intraperitoneally twice a day for 7 consecutive days in group H,and the equal volume of normal saline was given in S and NP groups.At 7,10 and 14 days after ligation,the mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) and thermal paw withdrawal latency (TWL) were measured.The rats were then sacrificed,and the left sciatic nerve and L4-6 segments of the spinal cords were removed for detection of the contents of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α),interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and high mobility group box-1 (HMGB1) at 7,10 and 14 days after ligation.Results Compared with group S,the MWT and TWL were significantly decreased,and the contents of TNF-α,IL-1β and HMGB1 in the left sciatic nerve and spinal cords were increased at each time point in NP and H groups.Compared with group NP,the MWT and TWL were significantly increased,and the contents of TNF-α,IL-1β and HMGB1 in the left sciatic nerve and spinal cords were decreased at each time point in group H.Conclusion Hydrogen-rich saline alleviates NP through inhibiting inflammatory responses in the sciatic nerve and spinal cord of rats.

OBJECTIVE:To observe therapeutic efficacy and safety of Compound digestive enzyme capsule in the treatment of dyspepsia. METHODS:154 patients with dyspepsia were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 77 patients in each group. Control group received routine treatment,Polyzyme tablet 600 mg,tid,30 min after meal;observa-tion group was additionally given Compound digestive enzyme capsule 600 mg,tid,30 min after meal. Treatment course of 2 groups lasted for 2 weeks. The improvement of dyspepsia,clinical efficacy,clinical manifestation score,improvement duration and ADR were observed in 2 groups after treatment. RESULTS:The total effective rate of observation group(89.61%)was significant-ly higher than that of control group(74.03%),with statistical significance(P<0.05). After treatment,the improvement of abdomi-nal distension,early satiety,belching,epigastric discomfort,epigastrium pain,epigastric burning sensation,nausea,vomiting and other clinical digestive symptoms in observation group were significantly better than control group,while clinical symptom score and improvement duration were significantly lower or shorter then control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of ADR between observation group (3.90%) and control group (5.19%), with statistical significance (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Compound digestive enzymes capsule has good effect on dyspepsia with less ADR.

Purpose: To explore the autocrinism of vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF) in human hepatocellular carcinoma cell and its significance. Methods: The expression of VEGF receptors was analyzed by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines SMMC7721, HHCC and HepG2 in vitro. The expression of VEGF in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells was inhibited by synthetic antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN). Phenotypic alterations in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells by antisense reduction of VEGF expression were observed. And the alterations for expression of VEGF receptors in human hepatocellular carcinoma cell membranes were analyzed by flow cytometry. Results: Flt-1 was expressed faintly in SMMC-7721 cell whereas KDR was expressed in HHCC cell and HepG2 cell in vitro. Compared to control, antisense ODN against VEGF inhibited HHCC cell proliferation in vitro in a dose-dependent manner and had no effects on SMMC-7721 cell and L929 cell. When the concentration of antisense ODN was 2.5 ?mol/L,5 ?mol/L and 10 ?mol/L, the proliferation of HHCC cell was inhibited by 26%, 41 % , and 50% respectively. Compared with control, flow cytometry analysis showed a decrease in cell number in S phase and a pre-apoptosis peak in HHCC cell treated by antisense ODN. There was no alteration of cell cycle in SMMC-7721 cell. The positive rate of KDR expression in HHCC cell membrane was 19. 2%, 29. 8% and 31. 2% in the antisense ODN, sense ODN and control groups, respectively. The expression of KDR in HHCC cell membrane was markedly inhibited by antisense ODN against VEGF compared with the control group, as measured by flow cytometry. There was no alteration for expression of Flt-1 in SMMC-7721 cell membrane. Conclusions: VEGF produced by human hepatocellular carcinoma cells acts directly upon human hepatocellular carcinoma in an autocrinal manner and may promote the proliferation and differentiation of human hepatocellular carcinoma cells via the activation of the KDR-dependent signaling pathway.

Objective To investigate the organochlorine and pyrethroid pesticide residue in leafy vegetables on sale in Xi’an and to assess the safety of the leafy vegetables. Methods Eight kinds of leafy vegetables samples were collected at five wholesale markets and five supermarkets in Xi’an from 2007 to 2008. The content of 15 kinds of pesticides residues were analyzed by GC method and the evaluation was made according to GB 2763—2005. This paper discusses issues involved in the deployment of the shelters of campaign-grade rapid medical support system in such aspects as entering of the vehicles,unloading of the shelters and grouping of the staffs. It suggests that the vehicles should rapidly move in at their positions and be butted bidirectional. As the system is deployed,such things should all be fixed as the position of the vehicles & equipments as well as the deployment motions and sequence. The system is positioned at hard surface,the shelters should be pushed towards the immobilized vehicles,but for the system located at soft surface,it is quite the contrary. With the above-mentioned measures implemented,the duration for shelters of campaign-grade rapid medical support system can be reduced largely.

Objective To study the changes of postprandial plasma C-reactive protein(CRP)concentrations after a high-fat meal (800 calorie;50g fat) in patients at high risk of cardiovascular event,and explore the influence of simvastatin on CRP concentration in very short time. Methods 70 patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease were randomly divided into two groups to accept either simvastatin (20mg/d) (SIM group, n=36)or placebo (ROU group, n=34) at the base of routine therapy. According to the actual situation of taking part in the earthquake relief mission followed by the mobile field hospital,the characteristics of medical support mission and the main problems in the use of medical equipment of the mobile field hospital are summarized.Aimed at the problems,equipments are suggested to be added especially used for surgery,first aid,blood transfusion and some special subjects,and improvement should be made on the equipment of ultrasonic diagnosis,inspection and X-ray examination.Finally,the necessary sorts and quantity of the medical equipments needed in the mission are listed.

Objective To evaluate the role of autophagy in activation of astrocytes in the spinal cord of rats with neuropathic pain (NP).Methods One hundred thirty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 8-10 weeks, weighing 250-300 g, were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =34 each) using a random number table: sham operation group (group S), group NP, autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine (3-MA) group (group MA), and autophagy activator rapamycin group (group R).NP was induced by chronic constriction injury.In 3-MA and R groups, 3-MA 15 mg/kg and rapacymin 10 mg/kg were injected intraperitoneally, respectively, at 1 h before NP.Ten rats were randomly selected, and the mechanical paw withdrawal threshold (MWT) and thermal paw withdrawal latency (TWL) were measured before NP and at 1, 3, 7 and 14 days after NP.Before NP and at 1, 3 and 7 days after NP, 6 rats were randomly sacrificed, the L4-6 segments of the spinal cord was harvested to detect microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 Ⅱ (LC3 Ⅱ), Beclin-1 and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) expression by Western blot.Results Compared with group S, the MWT was significantly decreased, the TWL was shortened, and the expression of LC3 Ⅱ , Beclin-1 and GFAP was up-regulated at each time point after NP in group NP (P＜ 0.05).Compared with group NP, the MWT was significantly decreased, the TWL was shortened, the expression of LC3 Ⅱ and Beclin-1 was down-regulated, and the expression of GFAP was up-regulated at each time point after NP in group MA, and the MWT was significantly increased, the TWL was prolonged, the expression of LC3 Ⅱ and Beclin-1 was up-regulated, and the expression of GFAP was down-regulated at each time point after NP in group R (P＜0.05).Conclusion Autophagy is involved in the development and maintenance of NP through promoting the activation of astrocytes in the spinal cord of rats.
