OBJECTIVE:To observe the hemostasis effect of combination of repilase and nitroglycerine against Emptysis.METHODS:90patients with Emptysis were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.The treatment group were treated with Reptilase together with nitroglycerine while the control group were treated with conventional hypophysin therapy.RESULTS:The total effective rate of hemostasis against hemoptysis was95.6%in the treatment group,which ex-celled the control group which has a total effective rate of66.7%.No significant adverse effect was found in the treatment group,which had a significant difference(P

Objective To investigate multi-slice spiral computer tomography(MSCT)images of gastrointestinal lymphoma.Methods MSCT data of 23 cases with primary gastrointestinal lymphoma verified by pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Results Non-Hodgkin'S lymphoma was confirmed in all of the 23 cases.For all of the cases a B-cell origin was in 22 cases and a T-cell origin in 1 case localized in transverse colon.CT images of gastric lymphoma included three kinds:diffuse thickening(n=13,81.2%),segmental thickening(n=2,12.5%),and mass(n=1,6.3%).Median thickness of gastric wall was 3.3cm (0.6～6.8 cm).CT scan of intestinal lymphoma showed irregular thickening of intestinal wall,and mass was visualized in I case of ileum lymphoma and I case of ileocecal lymphoma.Median thickness of intestinal wall was 2.8cm(0～7.0 cm).Of all the cases lesions appeared a common density by conventional CT scan,and low or moderate intensification by contrast-enhanced CT. Conclusions With its character-istic information MSCT remains the method of choice for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal lymphoma.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinicopathological features of ossifying fibroma (OF) and fibrous dysplasia (FD) , and to evaluate the role of immunohistochemistry in differential diagnosis. METHODS Clinical presentation and morphological study of 40 cases with OF and 26 cases with FD were reviewed. Immunohistochemistry stains for PCNA, Ki-67, Laminin and CK 19 were performed in specimens of 10 cases with FD and 26 cases with OF. RESULTS The average age of OF was 22.2 years and the ratio of male and female was 2.33:1. The average age of FD was 17.2 years and the ratio of male and female is about1:1. The average age of the multibone type of FD was 11.2 years and the ratio of male and female is 1:2. Most of OF occurred in ethmoid sinus (75 %) and 70 % of the patients presented snuffle and hyposmia, while FD inclineed to arise from sphenoid (58 %) and 80.8 %of patients showed eyesight dropping and exophthalmos. The immunohistochemistry stains PCNA was positive in 19 cases (73.1 %) of OF and negative in 10 cases of FD. Ki-67, laminin, CK19 were of little significance. CONCLUSION The gender, age distribution, clinical and pathological features of OF and FD are different from each other. Immunohistochemistry staining for PCNA is of great value in their differential diagnosis.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy and ADR of Mirabilite combined with intrapetitoneal in the treatment of elderly colorectal malignant ascites. METHODS:77 cases of patients with elderly colorectal malignant ascites were randomly di-vided into treatment group (n=40) and control group (n=37). The control group received the treatment of intraperitoneal alone, while the treatment group was based on the control group additionally received Mirabilite combined with intrapetitoneal. The clini-cal efficacy,quality of life (QOL),and ADR in 2 groups were compared and statistically analyzed. RESULTS:Compared with control group,the effective rate in treatment group was 77.5% and the disease control rate was 87.5%,with significant difference (P<0.05);the QOL score in treatment group was better than control group,with significant difference(P<0.05);the incidence of local ADR in Mirabilite for external use was low. CONCLUSIONS:Mirabilite combined with intraperitoneal has better efficacy in the elderly colorectal malignant ascites and better QOL.

Objective To research the expressions of Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) in colorectal cancer and normal tissue and the relationship with clinicopathologic features.Methods The expression levels of SIRT1 mRNA and protein were detected respectively by quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-QPCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) in 45 cases of colorectal carcinoma and 30 cases of normal mucous membrane tissue,and the relationships between the expression status and clinicopathologic features were analyzed.Results In colorectal carcinoma,the expression of SIRT1 mRNA were higher than that in control group [M(QR):2.488(3.447) vs.1.563(2.867),Z =-2.304,P ＜0.05],so was the protein level (71.1％ vs.43.3％,x2 =5.787,P =0.029).The expression of SIRTI was associated with lymph node metastasis (RT-QPCR:Z =-2.160,P =0.031;IHC:P =0.043),neoplasm stages (RT-QPCR:Z =-2.411,P =0.016;IHC:P =0.008),and might associated with the tissue differentiation (RT-QPCR:x2 =10.864,P =0.004;IHC:P =0.322).On the other hand,no significant differences were observed regarding age,sex,tumor size,gross type,depth of invasion,tumor site and distant metastasis.Conclusion The expression of SIRT1 in colorectal cancer is higher than that in control group,the high level of SIRT1 is related to the tumorigenesis and progression of colorectal cancer as well as correlated with prognosis in colorectal cancer.

Objective To investigate the application of hypocaloric parenteral nutrition in postoperarive elderly patients with gastric cancer. Methods 59 elderly patients aged 60- 79 years with gastric cancer after operation were randomly assigned to receive 84 kJ · kg -1.d -1 hypocaloric parenteral nutrition (29 cases) and 126 kJ · kg-1 · d -1 standard-calorie parenteral nutrition (30cases),totally 6 d from postoperative 2 d. Complications, serum proteins, immune function,inflammation,blood glucose, liver function and recovery time of gastrointestinal function were observed during nutritional support. Results The postoperative complication rate were 37.9％(11/29) in hypocalorie group and 43.3 ％ (13/30) in standard calorie group ( P＞0.05),mainly pulmonary infection.There were no ditferences in levels of serum albumin,total protein and prealbumin between two groups at postoperative 3 d and 6 d (P＞0.05).Peripheral blood lymphocytes and T lymphocyte subsets CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8- ratio were decreased after sugery,but CD8 1 values increased in two groups (P＞0.05).C reactive protein was increased significantly at postoperative 3 d compared with preoperation,and decreased at 6d than 3 d (P＞0.05).Blood glucose was decreased gradually at 3 and 6 d (P＞0.05).Postoperative liver function paraneters were elevated,no difference was found at 3 d (P＞0.05),and continued to rise at 6 d in standard calorie group than in hypocalorie group (P＜0.05). There was no difference in times of aerofluxus and cacation after operation between hypocalorie and standard calorie groups (P＞0.05). Conclusions Hypocaloric parenteral nutrition is a safe and effective method for nutrition support in postoperative elderly patients with gastric cancer.

Objective To investigate the relationship between CD40,Ki-67,and CD34 expressions and clinical significance of gastric cancer.Methods The expressions of CD40,Ki-67,and CD34 were detected by immunohistochemistry in 80 cases of gastric carcinomas and adjacent mucosas.Results The high expression of CD40 was detected in 36.3％ (29/80) cases of gastric cancer tissues,and Ki-67 was 53.8％ (43/80).The high expression of CD40 was related to lymph node metastasis,depth of invasion,and the patient's prognosis.The high expression of Ki-67 was related to histological differentiation,depth of invasion,vascular invasion,and lymph node metastasis (P ＜ 0.05).Expression of CD40 was positively related to Ki-67 and CD34 in gastric carcinomas (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions The high expressions of CD40,Ki-67,and CD34 in gastric cancers are related to the tumor proliferation,tumor angiogenesis,and the prognosis of patients.

Objective To investigate the significance and expression of E-cadherin(E-CD),focal adhesion kinase(FAK)and FAK py397 in rectal cancer.Methods Thirty paraffin specimens of rectal cancer and adjacent tissues collected from 2001 to 2002 and 35 fresh specimens of rectal cancer and adjacent tissues resected from 2006 to 2007 at People's Hospital of Wuhan University were adopted in this study.The expression of E-CD,FAK and FAK py397 was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot.All data were analyzed using chi-square test.Results E-CD was positively expressed in the membranes of epithelial cells in normal rectal mucosa,while no E-CD expression was found in the membranes of epithelial cells in rectal cancer tissues.There was a significant correlation between the expression of E-CD,FAK,FAK py397 and tumor difierentiation,depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis(χ~2=7.099,18.358,25.612;12.316,28.823,23.168;8.927,18.122,22.620,P＜0.05),while no relationship between the expression of E-CD,FAK,FAK py397 and age,sex was detected(χ~2=0.439,1.899,3.676;0.541,4.051,1.135,P＞0.05).The expression levels of FAK and FAK py397 were 83% (54/65)and 68% (44/65)in rectal cancer tissues,and were 31%(20/65)and 26% (17/65)in adjacent tissues,with significant difference(χ~2=33.707,34.163,20.897,P＜0.05).Conclusion Lost expression of E.CD in the membrane of rectal cancer tissue and elevated expression of FAK and FAK py397 in the rectal cancer tissue might be related to the invasion and metastasis of rectal cancer,which may predict the biological behavior of rectal cancer.

Objective To observe imaging characteristics and changes of vivo two-dimension multi-voxel proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (~1H-MRS) in the rabbit models of VX2 hepatic carcinoma after high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment. Methods VX2 hepatic carcinoma models were established in 20 New Zealand rabbits. Routine MR and 2-dimentional ~1H-MRS scanning were performed before and after HIFU treatment. The central regions of interest (ROI) of the VX2 tumor, tumor border and paratumor normal liver tissues were selected. The Cho/Cr and Lip/Cr of the same ROI before and after HIFU treatment were compared. Results Total 28 satisfied spectrogram diagram of ~1H-MRS were brought into statistical analysis. Of all the spectra, 6 metabolite peaks were detected as lipids (Lip), glutamine and glutamate complex (Glx), choline (Cho), lactate (Lac) and creatine (Cr). Cho and Lac peak in tumor center and tumor border regions after HIFU treatment were higher than those before HIFU treatment. Lip peak was lower than before, and major metabolites of paratumor normal liver tissues did not changed significantly. Statistical differences of Cho/Cr and Lipid/Cr of tumor center and border region were found between before and after HIFU treatment (P＜0.05). Conclusion Two-dimension multi-voxel ~1H-MRS can reflect major changes in the level of metabolites of different ROI for hepatic VX2 carcinoma after HIFU treatment.
