Objective To investigate the expression change of receptor activator of NF ?B ligand (RANKL) and osteoprotegerin (OPG) mRNA in rat alveolar bone and the possible mechanism of alveolar bone resorption under traumatic occlusion. Methods Thirty SD rats weighed 270g?20g were used and divided into 6 groups, of which one group was as control. A square wire thickened about 1mm was bonded with Super bond composite resin on to the occlusal surface of left upper first molar of the rats in experiment groups. The animals were executed after 1,3,7,14,28 days. The left jaw were processed for the study of the expression of RANKL and OPG mRNA with RT PCR. Results Expression of RANKL and OPG mRNA in alveolar bone was significantly different between experiment and control groups. During occlusal trauma, expression of RANKL and OPG mRNA enhanced in 1 day group. The ratio of RANKL/OPG mRNA expression raised in 1、14 and 28 day groups. Conclusion The ratio of RANKL/OPG mRNA expression changed during occlusion trauma. RANKL and OPG might be involved in the restructure of periodontal tissue after traumatic occlusion

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1995;0(04):-
Objective: To evaluate the influence of fusing conditions on the surface structure and morphology of the SP1 SiO2. Methods:The SP1 SiO2 samples were sintered under 500, 650, 800, 950 and 1 100 ℃ at a rate of 250 ℃/h and maintained for 10, 30 min, 3 h respectively. The surface structure was characterized by FT-IR. Results:The characteristic peak of Si-OH bond at 958 cm-1 took off gradually with the rising temperature and prolonged time. Under the conditions of 950 ℃ maintained for 10 min and 30 min, and 650 ℃ maintained for 3 h, it disappeared completely. The particles of the SP1 SiO2 became larger while the size distribution became narrow. Conclusion: Fusing conditions can affect the Si-OH content and the size of the SP1 SiO2, as well as the size of distribution.[

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2001;0(01):-
Objective:To evaluate the feasibility of fMRI on the location of brain regions related to cold stimulated toothache. Methods: 8 patients with cold induced dentinalgia of the right maxillary bicuspid and 8 healthy volunteers with full and healthy dentition were selected to perform the fMRI study, all of which are right handed. Block designed blood oxygen level dependent(BOLD) functional MRI scan covering the whole brain was carried out. SPM2 software was adopted to generate the activation map. Results: The patient group showed significant bilateral activations in insula/SII, basal ganglion, cingulate gyrus, midbrain red nucleus. BOLD signals were also found unilaterally in right thalamus, inferior parietal lobule(BA7) and left inferior frontal gyrus(BA44), MII/PMC. In contrast, the normal group showed increased signals in bilateral PMC and inferior parietal lobule BA40. Left lentiform nucleus, SI/MI and right inferior parietal lobule(BA7) were also excited in none painful cold sensation. Conclusions: Motor related cortex including PMC, SMA and BA44 have strong signals during dental pain. Compared with limb pain, tooth pulp stimulation evoked a more pronounced activation in the ipsilateral hemisphere in some brain regions.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2001;10(3):221-223
Objective To study the relationship between the biologic behaviours of gastric carcinoma (GC) and the immune reaction cells of GC tissue. Methods One hundred and seven radical gastrectomy specimens and 3 to 8 years follow-up data were quantitatively assessed on the reactive degree of lymph-plasma cells and eosinophils with CMIAS image analysis system. Mast cell reaction was accounted in the low power microscopy. Each indicator was divided into two groups, high reaction group and low reaction group, according to the intensity of reactions. Both high reaction and low reaction group were analysed on the base of clinicopathologic parameters. Results There was a significant difference in the survival time, depth of tumour invasion and lymph node metastasis in GC tissue between high reaction group and low reaction group (P<0.05). Conclusions Local immune reaction cells plays an important role in the defense mechanism of GC host against the tumour cells invising and spreading.

Objective: To clone cDNA of enamel matrix serine proteinase (EMSP1) encoding mature protein from mouse dental germs. Methods: Total RNA was isolated from developing incisors and molars of 7 days mouse pups and reverse-transcribed into cDNA. Two pairs of specific primers was designed to obtain the desired gene by Touchdown PCR and Nested PCR. The segment was inserted into Vector pMD-18T, and recombined vectors was transformed into E.coli JM109.The positive clone was chose and analysed by restriction endonuclease mapping and DNA sequencing. Results:700 bp of cDNA of mouse EMSP1 was sueccessfully cloned from mouse tooth germs tissue. The sequence was consistent with that displayed in PubMed. Conclusion:The mouse EMSP1 cDNA encoding mature protein is obtained for further study.

Objective:To study the association of TGF?2 polymorphisms and maternal smoking with the occurrence of nonsyndromic cleft lip and palate(NSCLP). Methods:TGF?2 genes were amplified from peripheral leukocytes by means of PCR in 272 cases of nonsyndromic cleft lip with or without palate(CL/P), 251 of cleft palate only(CPO) and 312 of unrelated controls in Jilin Province, PCR products were analyzed by single-stranded conformation polymorphism(SSCP) and DNA sequencing. Maternal smoking was investigated. The association of TGF?2 polymorphisms, maternal smoking with the occurrence of CL/P and CPO was analyzed by SAS statistic system. Results:The 322 bp PCR product of TGF?2 was amplified from CL/P, CPO and control samples; SSCP analysis showed three alleles of TGF?2;sequencing results showed that allele1, allele2 and allele3 contained seven, eight and nine ACA repeats respectively. The statistic analysis showed that TGF?2 polymorphisms or maternal smoking was associated with the occurrence of CL/P and CPO respectively(P0.05).Conclusion:TGF?2 polymorphisms and maternal smoking during pregnancy are associated with the occurrence of CL/P and CPO. TGF?2 polymorphisms have no interaction with maternal smoking.

BACKGROUND:Whole body vibration training, a recently developed method of neuromuscular training, is a useful method to improve muscle strength and postural control in the elderly. Recently, researchers attempt to explore whether whole body vibration training can reduce motor dysfunction for stroke patients.
OBJECTIVE:To summarize clinical progress in whole body vibration treatment on stroke patients with limb motor dysfunction, including muscle strength of the affected limbs, muscle tension, balance and gait.
METHODPubMed, EBSCO, Medline database were searched for articles relate to whole body vibration training intervention for stroke patients with motor dysfunction published from January 2002 to June 2014. Final y, 34 articles were included in result analysis.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Whole body vibration training is feasible and safe for stroke patients has the feasibility and safety. For therapeutic efficacy, we focus on the muscle strength, muscle tone, balance, posture control ability, but there is no sufficient evidence to support that the whole body vibration training can improve the motor dysfunction. There is also no recognized standard on specific intervention protocols, such as vibration type, treatment frequency, treatment amplitude, treatment time. Many researchers aim to observe the clinical curative effect at present, but rarely explore the intervention mechanism of the whole body vibration. Further large-sample, multi-center randomized control ed experiments are required to test the validity.
