OBJECTIVE:To establish the ultraviolet visible spectrophotometry(UV-VIS)for the determination of Fe content in iron dextran preparations.METHODS:Under the acidic condition,Fe~(3+)was dissociated from iron dextran solution by heating,then Fe~(3+)was deoxidized into Fe~(2+)by hydroxylamine hydrochloride,and red Fe~(2+)-orthophenanthroline complex was formed through combination with o-phenanthroline.The content of the Fe~(2+)-orthophenanthroline complex was determined by UV-VIS at a wavelength of 510 nm.RESULTS:The linear range of Fe~(2+)was 0.5～4.0?g?mL~(-1)(r=0.999 9). The average recoveries of two preparations(tablets and injection)of iron dextran were 99.8%(RSD=0.52%)and 99.7% (RSD=0.44%),respectively.CONCLUSION:The UV-VIS method is simple,accurate in results and applicable for the determination of iron dextran preparations.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of protective technique for intercostal nerve in the application of esophageal cancer surgery.Methods Seventy cases of esophageal and cardia cancer patients with thoracic operation were randomly divided into observation group and control group,and each group was 35 cases.Patients in the observation group were treated with improved protective technique of intercostal nerve during operation,and patients in the control group using the traditional methods of operation for treatment.All patients were treated with intramuscular injection of morphine analgesia drugs after operation.Results The pain score of every time point analgesia patients in the observation group (VAS score) was significant difference from that in the control group (t =3.041,2.854,1.827,2.156,1.965,2.706,P＜ 0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions of analgesia,the incidence of painless patients of postoperative 30 d and 60 d,morphine dosage,chest tube indwelling time and the average hospitalization time in observation group were 0,42.86％,68.57％,(10.6±5.2) mg (4.0±1.6) d,(17.6±4.5) d,and the control group were 17.14％,20.0％,34.29％,(22.8±7.6) mg,(4.8±1.8) d,(20.4±5.8) d (x2=4.56,4.24,8.24,t=7.838,1.965,2.257,P＜0.05).Conclusion The improvement protective technique for intercostal nerve in esophageal cancer surgery,not only can reduce thoracotomy acute postoperative pain,but also reduce the happening of the CPP.Meanwhile,the analgesic effect is good.It is proved with a simple operation,less adverse reaction,conducive to disease recovery after esophageal cancer surgery,indicating that it has clinical popularization value.

OBJECTIVE:To provide references for the evolvement of Chinese drug safety credit system construction.METHODS:The status quo of Chinese drug safety credit system was analyzed by applying the credit management theory,and some corresponding developmental countermeasures were put forward by drawing experiences from abroad.RESULTS &CONCLUSION:The fundamental strategy for the construction of standardized economic order in pharmaceutical market is to establish and perfect drug safety credit system.The drug safety credit system should be constructed comprehensively from the credit laws,credit information databank,credit ratings,credit supervision,credit agency,credit awards and punishments,etc.

Objective To explore the main inhalational and alimentary allergens which triggers allergic asthma in children in Suzhou area.Methods The serum specific aspiration allergens were detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in 119 children with bronchial asthma,including 7 kinds of common inhalational allergens.The 6 kinds of alimentary allergens test was conducted in 65 children.Results The total inhalational allergens positive rate of the subject was 75.63%(90/119).The highest rate was dust mite 49.58%(59/119),then was house dust 21.02%(25/119),animal hair 19.33%(23/119).The positive rate of aspiration allergens increased with the patient′s age and showed a positive correlation.Positive rate of food allergens was 49.23%(32/65).Of them,the highest rate was fish 20.0%(13 cases),then was lobster and claw 16.92%(11 cases),egg 12.31%(8 cases).Conclusions Inhalational allergens are the main allergens in children with asthma in Suzhou district.The positive rate of aspiration allergens increases with the patient′s age.The most common allergen is dust mite.The allergen test plays a clinically significant and advisable role in treatment and prognosis in bronchial asthma in children.

Objective Normal estimation is the key step for volume visualization. Commonly used methods for normal estimation are based on interpolation and derivative. A novel normal estimation algorithm based on approximation for visualization of medical images was presented in this paper. Method It approximated the density function in local neighborhood with a second-degree polynomial function. The coefficients of the polynomial function were solved by minimizing the error of the approximation and the gradient vector at arbitrary point was obtained directly from the analytical derivative of the density function without interpolation. Because of symmetry, the solution of this equation was simplified.This method was tested in several volume data sets. The results and the generation time by different methods were obtained and compared. Result The results showed that this algorithm produced satisfactory quality images while the computational complexity was not increased. Conclusion This approach is preferable for most applications, especially for medical images reconstruction.

Objective To obtain two-dimensional gel electrophoresis maps of the renal tissue proteins of normal and chronic intermittent hypoxia(CIH) rats for identifying the diferentially expressed proteins in the CIH rats.MethodsCIH rat models were established, and the proteins in the renal tissue underwent two-dimensional gel electrophoresis with immobiline pH gradientisoeleclricfocusingasthefirstdimensionandverticalSDS-PAGEasthesecond dimension.Analysis of 2-DE maps was used to determine differential expression of proteins between the two groups by ImageMaster 2D Platinum 5.0, and four protein spots expressed differently were picked up for further identification by MALDI-TOF-MS.Results Matched and compared with those of control group, 112 protein spots were determined with differently expressive levels in CIH group.By MALDI-TOF-MS, three protein spots of them were identified as ATP synthase delta subunit of mitochondrial precursor, catechol O-methyltransferase, apurinic/apyrimidinic endonudease.Conclusions There is obvious difference in expressive proteomes in renal tissue between normal and chronic intermittent hypoxia rats.The functions of those identified proteins are involved in cellular energy metabolism, apoptosis, signal transduction, anti-cell injury and hormone metabolism,so that proteomics can serve as a new approach in the study of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome to discover new therapeutic targets.

Objective To compare the complications of end colostomy and loop colostomy for preventive colostomy,then to evaluate which one is superior to the other.Methods Studies and relevant literatures comparing end colostomy with loop colostomy for defunctiong colostomy were searched by PubMed,Springer and Embase Library.The rates of complications were pooled and compared using a Meta analysis.The risk ratios were calculated with 95％ confidence intervals to evaluate the safety and efficacy of each teachnique.Results Six nonrandomized studies were included,with 1999 patients in total.The Meta-analysis of the non-randomied studies showed a lower risk of stoma retraction (RR:0.21,95％ CI:0.04 ～ 0.99,P =0.05) and stoma prolapse (RR:0.23,95 ％ CI:0.05 ～0.99,P =0.05) in the end colostomy group,but the higher risk of ischemia and necrosis (RR:5.08,95％ CI:1.94 ～ 13.22,P =0.05).No other statistically significant difference was observed for other complications.Conclusions Each type of defuncyioning stoma has its advantages and disadvantages.The study endorses end colostomy stoma over loop colostomy.However,there is not a strong evidence for the superiority of one colostomy over another for colostomy patients.So,large scale RCTs and high quality studies are needed.

Objective To investigate publication of papers by nursing staff in a TCM hospital and to find out the problems as well as countermeasures.Method A retrospective analysis about authors,education,academictitle,length of service and age was done to investigate the classes of published papers from 2008 to 2012.Results The academic publication by the nurses from 2008 to 2012 was increased.Among these articles,the TCM nursing techniques took up the largest ratio,which accounted for 29.12%. There were significant differences in ages,length of service and educational background in authors(P<0.05).Conclusions Nurses’ awareness and capabilities of publishing academic papers needs enhancement as well as training.It may be significant to strengthen their incentives in scientific research by enforcing encouraging policies.

AIM:To investigate the possible mechanism of magnolol on the damage of PC12 cell induced by the addition of 6-OHDA placed in an incubator for 24 h with rat's pheochromocytoma cell of adrenal medulla in the absence and presence of magnolol. METHODS:Cell viability was measured by MTT method. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and aspartate-specific cysteine proteases-3 (Caspase-3) concentration(s) were assayed by fluorescence spectrophotometer. RESULTS:Cell activity declined sharply by the addition of 6-OHDA at concentration of 100 ?mol/L,the pre-treatment of magnolol(0.1~10 ?mol/L)could significantly increase the PC12 cell activity and prevent the increased ROS and caspase-3. CONCLUSION:Magnolol may protect the cell trauma induced by 6-OHDA,and the mechanism is related to inhibiting the 6-OHDA-induced elevation in intracellular ROS levels and reducing the caspase-3 activity.
