1.Electroacupuncture regulates pain and its effect on IL-17 and IL-17R expression of spinal cord in New Zealand rabbit with osteoarthritis
Chongqing Medicine 2017;46(17):2326-2329
Objective To investigate whether electroacupuncture(EA) regulates the pain in New Zealand rabbits with osteo arthritis by inhibiting the IL-17 and IL-17R expression in spinal cord. Methods New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into the sham operation group, inflammation model group, sham operation+ IL-17 group, inflammation+ IL-17 group, inflammation + EA group and inflammation +sham EA group,8 cases in each group. The rabbit osteoarthritis model was established by using the papaya protease,IL-17 and IL-17 antiserum was injected into the spinal canal,The EA group selected the EA at Zusanli point(30 min,2 Hz continuous wave,1~ 2 mA),the sham EA group adopted the non-acupoint stimulation. Then the pain threshold of rabbits was detected. The mRNA expression of IL-17 and IL-17R in rabbit spinal cord tissue was detected by RT-qPCR and the protein expression was detected by Western-Bolt.Results The rabbit pain threshold was significantly decreased after constructing the New Zealand osteoarthritis model(P<0.05),and the spinal canal injection of IL-17 could significantly decrease the pain threshold of sham operation New Zealand rabbit(P<0.05),while the spinal canal injection of IL-17 antiserum could significantly increase the pain threshold of osteoarthritis model rabbit.Selecting EA at Zusanli point could significantly enhance the rabbit pain threshold (P<0.05).The mRNA and protein expression of IL-17 and IL-17R of the osteoarthritis model group were significantly increased (P<0.05),while the expressions were significantly decreased after EA stimulation(P<0.05).Conclusion The pain occurrence of New Zealand rabbit osteoarthritis may involve the IL-17 abnormal expression in spinal cord.EA may regulate the osteoarthritis pain by inhibiting the expression of IL-17 and IL-17R in spinal cord.

METHODS: Totally 19 eyes of 19 patients with traumatic glaucoma were implanted with Ex - press glaucoma filtration device under the scleral flap from December 2012 to May 2013. The postoperative visual acuity, anterior chamber depth and hyphema, intraocular pressure(IOP), filtering bleb and other complications were observed and summarized.
RESULTS: Ex - press glaucoma filtration device were implanted successfully in 19 patients. At 1d postoperatively shallow anterior chamber was occurred in 2 eyes and hyphema was occurred in 3 eyes. At 3mo postoperatively increased vision was occurred in 9 eyes (47%),functional filtering bleb was occurred in 18 eyes ( 95%), and IOP was 12. 1 ± 6. 1mmHg. At 6mo postoperatively increased vision was occurred in 11 eyes (58%),functional filtering bleb was occurred in 18 eyes (95%),and IOP was 13. 3±6. 9mmHg. Compared with the preoperative IOP ( 29. 8 ± 6. 7mmHg), the difference was significant(P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: Ex - press glaucoma filtration device implantationfor traumatic glaucoma can improve the postoperative vision and control the postoperative IOP stably with fewer complications and high safety.
5.Modern literature study of auricular point therapy for primary insomnia
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2021;19(4):321-328
Objective: By sorting and analyzing pertinent modern studies targeting auricular point therapy treating primary insomnia (PI), to summarize the point selection rules and clinical efficacy of using auricular points alone or combining it with other therapies in treating PI. Methods: A search on China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Academic Journal Full-text Database (Wanfang), Chongqing VIP Database (CQVIP), PubMed, Springer and Ovid were conducted from January 1, 1998 till January 31, 2020. Point selection, diagnostic criteria and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) in the eligible studies were analyzed and summarized. Results: The difference in PSQI before and after using auricular point therapy alone was more significant than that of using Chinese medication alone (P<0.05), but less significant than that of combining auricular point therapy and acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese therapeutic massage (tuina) (P<0.05). In the included studies, Shenmen (TF4) was the most commonly used (370 times), followed by Heart (CO15), which was 344 times, and Subcortex (AT4), which was 325 times. In terms of auricular points distribution, points in the auricular concha were the most commonly used (1500 times), followed by those in the antitragus (474 times) and triangular fossa (387 times). Correlation analysis showed that Shenmen (TF4) and Liver (CO12), Sympathetic (AH6a) and Heart (CO15) were used together more often, followed by Shenmen (TF4), Liver (CO12), Spleen (CO13), Kidney (CO10) and Subcortex (AT4), and then Shenmen (TF4), Liver (CO12), Sympathetic (AH6a), Subcortex (AT4) and Heart (CO15). Cluster analysis showed that the auricular points used for PI can be divided into 6 clusters in 2 major groups. One group was Heart (CO15), Subcortex (AT4), Shenmen (TF4), Sympathetic (AH6a), Spleen (CO13), Kidney (CO10), Liver (CO12) and Endocrine (CO18); the other was Occiput (AT3), Stomach (CO4), Pancrease-gallbladder (CO11), Chuiqian (LO4), Small Intestine (CO6), Central Rim (AT2,3,4i) and Sanjiao (CO17). In terms of patterns in traditional Chinese medicine, the pattern of dual deficiency of heart and spleen accounted for the largest proportion in the studies of using auricular points alone or combining it with other treatments to treatment PI, and then it was the pattern of liver depression transforming into fire. Conclusion: In treatment of PI with auricular points alone or combo therapy involving auricular points, Shenmen (TF4) was commonly used, and the commonly used point group consisted of Shenmen (TF4), Liver (CO12), Sympathetic (AH6a) and Heart (CO15). Auricular point therapy can be taken as a complementary therapy in treating PI.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2007;27(5):590-2
The effect of the trace elements on retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) were studied. Thirty preterm infants who had potential high risk factors of ROP were selected as observation group and 18 normal infants as control groups. By using atom spectrophotometer, the contents of serum trace elements (Mg, Cu, Zn, Mn, Se) were measured and analyzed statistically. The contents of serum Zn, Cu and Se in observation group were 0.75+/-0.22, 0.41+/-0.20 and (134.07+/-71.57)x10(-3) mg/L respectively, and 0.55+/-0.12, 0.65+/-0.194 and (202.92+/-44.71)x10(-3) mg/L in control group respectively (P<0.01). The contents of Cu and Se were obviously lower and that of Zn higher in observation group than those in control group. The same results were obtained between the infants with ROP and controls (P<0.01). However, there was no significant difference in the contents of serum Mg and Mn between two groups (P>0.05). It was concluded that the contents of serum Cu and Se in preterm infants who had high risk factors of ROP were obviously lower than in the controls. The contents of serum Cu and Se in the ROP infants were also much lower while contents of Zn much higher. Attention should be paid to the detection of the trace elements in preterm infants in order to prevent the deficiencies of Cu and Se. Only in this way can we prevent the deficiencies of Cu and Se, so as to decrease the ROP risk factors and prevent the disease.
