4. Study on phenylpropanoids and lignans from Selaginella involven
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2016;47(21):3773-3778
Objective: To study the chemical constituents of phenylpropanoids and lignans in Selaginella involven and to explore their roles in the plants evolution of Selaginella P. Beauv. Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by polyamide, macroporous resin, and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by chemical and spectroscopic methods. Results: Fifteen compounds were identified as 3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-propionic acid (1), 3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-methyl propionate (2), cinnamic acid (3), 3-hydroxy-1-(3-methoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl) propan-1-one (4), 3-hydroxy-1-(3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl) propan-1-one (5), (+)-wikstromol (6), (-)-nortrachelogenin (7), (+)-matrairesinol (8), (5H)-2-furanone-3,4-bis[(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl) methyl] (9), acutissimalignan B (10), detetrahydroconidendrin (11), syringaresinol (12), 3,3',5-trimethoxy-4',7-epoxy-8,5'-neolignan-7-ene-4,9,9'-triol-9-aldehyde (13), ciwujiatone (14), and tarennone (15), respectively. Conclusion: Compounds 1-15 are isolated from this plant for the first time. Among them 1-3, 9-11, and 13-15 are isolated from the plants of Selaginella P. Beauv. for the first time. The discovery of a series of mustards, coniferyl alcohols, and their derivatives, which is the representative of phenypropanoids and lignans from S. involven, plays an important role in the development of plants in Selaginella P. Beauv..

OBJECTIVE To screen the anti-meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)traditional Chinese materia medica(TCMM)by biosensor technique, targeted on the soluble penicillin binding protein 2a(PBP2a)of clinical MRSA.METHODS The soluble PBP2a with amino acid sequence from 25 to 668 from clinical MRSA were expressed in Escherichia coli by gene recombination technique. Then, the expressed product was identified and its biological function was analyzed. After the PBP2a was immobilized into the carboxymethyl dextran cuvette(CMD),the anti-MRSA TCMM was screened by means of biosensor.RESULTS The soluble protein PBP2a had been successfully expressed, whose relative molecular mass was 74?103.It was confirmed that the soluble PBP2a had transpeptidase activitiy and ?-lactamase activitiy.Subsequently,10 kinds of anti-MRSA TCMM were screened out by biosensor technique. Moreover,Radix Scutellariae,Rhizoma Coptidis and Spica Prunellae had greater anti-MRSA effect than others.CONCLUSIONS Anti-MRSA TCMM has been successfully screened out by biosensor technique, targeted on the soluble PBP2a of clinical MRSA.
7. Study on chemical constituents from Xiaoer Fupi Granules based on UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2018;49(23):5522-5531
Objective To clarify the chemical constituents from Xiaoer Fupi Granules and establish an effective identification method for the complex composition of Chinese material medica. Methods UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS was used to analyze the chemical constituents of Xiaoer Fupi Granules. The analysis was performed on Waters HSS T3-C18 (100 mm × 2.1 mm, 1.8 μm). The mobile phase consisted of 0.1% ammonium formate (A)-acetonitrile (B), which was used for gradient elution, with the flow rate of 0.3 mL/min. This objective was achieved mainly depending on the information of the accurate mass and the multistage fragment ions obtained by UPLC-LTQ-Orbitrap-MS, comparing the mass spectrometric data of the standard substance and consulting the reference literatures. Results A total of 84 compounds were identified in this study, including the flavones, glycosidics, phenoliacids, and its esters, and so on, which were attributed the herbs source of each compound. Meanwhile, an effective and quickly identification method for the glycosides, flavonoids, and polyoxyflavonoids were established based on the law of multistage mass spectrometry. Conclusion The comprehensive chemical constituents analysis of Xiaoer Fupi Granules will provide the scientific theory basis for the pharmacodyamic material basis and the quality control of this drug.

International Eye Science 2016;16(7):1273-1275
Myopia is one of the most popular eye diseases all over the world. The development of the current understanding of its mechanism is still limited. Many studies indicated that the growth factors closely related to eye development and myopia. Some growth factors with biological activity, such as transforming growth factor ( TGF ), fibroblast growth factor ( FGF ) and epidermal growth factor ( EGF ), have an impact on scleral thickness variation, the regulation of the development of myopia and so on, which plays a non-negligible role in the pathogenesis of myopia. In this paper, the function of various growth factors in myopia will be reviewed.

Aim The expression of NF-?B activation and the effect of antioxidant (N- acetylcysteine, NAC) on NF-?B activity in human airway epithelial cell was assessed. Methods Using the TNF-?,the airway epithelial cell strains of normal subject(16HBE) and tumor patient (H292) was activated and using Western-Blot and ELISA the expression of NF-?B and IL-8 were detected. Results It was found that the activity of NF-?B could be stimulated by the TNF-? and increase with the amount of TNF-? with the peak occurring at 2 to 4 hours after stimulation and then decreasing at six hours. At the same time, the level of IL-8 was elevated, but decreased with inhibition of NF-?B activity by NAC, that means the action of NAC has a dose-dependent effect. Conclusion NAC not only blocks the signal transmission activated by NF-?B, but also anticipates the transcription modulation of expression of many cell factors and inflammatory mediums. It suggests that NAC may play a role in the anti-inflammatory treatment of respiratory diseases.
