An isocratic high-performance liquid-chromatographic method is-described for the simultaneously determining carbamazepine and its biologically active metabolite, carbamazepine-10, 11-epoxide. Serum samples containing an internal standard (10-methoxycarba-mazepine) are extracted with dichlor-methane and 4 mol ? L-1 sodium hydroxide. The organic extract are evaporated at ambient temperature under a stream of nitrogen. The residues are reconstituted in mobile phase and injected on to a re-versed-phase C18 Column (150?4. 6mm I. D). The mobile phase consists of ace-tontrile/methanol/water (50/210/260 by vol) . The UV detector is operated at 214nm. The elution times of all com-pounds are within 7 min.The least detectable concentrations of carbamazepine and carbamazepine-10, 11-epoxide are 0. 08mg ? L-1 and 0.1mg ? L-1, respectively. The average absolute recovery for carbamazepine is 96.0% and for carbamazepine-10,11-epoxide is 97.3%. Within-run CV is 3. 3%~5.7%. and between-run CV is 4.3%~9.0%. The standard curve is linear at least within 40mg ? L-1 for carbamazepine and within 20mg ? L-1 for carbamazepine-10, 11-epoxide.

Objective:To observe the efficacy of acupuncture-moxibustion therapy in treating urinary retention after surgery for cervical cancer. Methods:Fifty eligible patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group by their visiting sequence, 25 in each group. The control group was intervened by indwelling urethral catheter after gynecological surgery; while the treatment group started to receive acupuncture-moxibustion and cupping treatment at the 7th day after surgery, in addition to the intervention given to the control group. The residual urine volume and total effective rate of the two groups were detected. Results:After 7-day treatments, the total effective rate was 92.0% in the treatment group versus 72.0% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture-moxibustion treatment plus cupping based on the conventional intervention is effective for urinary retention after surgery for cervical cancer, worth promoting in clinic.

Since ancient times, the processing of Mongolian medicine have cooperated with the Mongolian medicine clinical, which plays an important role in improving curative effect of Mongolian medicine and ensuring the safety of the drug. At present, the Mongolian medicines are processed still according to the traditional methods of the ancient literature method which has a lot of problems such as lag in technology, method of diversification, ambiguous indicators and unclear mechanism. Standardization of Mongolian medicine processing was based on traditional Mongolian medicine basic theory, which both projecting the characteristic, inheriting the traditional colleagues and reference to modern medicine, pharmacology, toxicology and other disciplines of knowledge. In this article, the processing situation, existing problem and standardization research of Mongolian medicine were described that providing a reference for the modernization and standardization of Mongolian medicine.

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and diagnosis of Epstein-Barr(EB) virus encephalitis(EBE) in children. Methods The verification of EBE was based on detection of EBV DNA in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) by fluorogenic quantitative PCR(FQ-PCR) and Nest-PCR. The clinical and CSF changes of 27 EBE cases and 26 controls were analyzed and compared. Results EB-DNA in CSF by FQ-PCR of 13 cases of EBE was (2.82?2.03)?10 3copies.There was no significant difference in clinical manifestations between EBE and HSE groups, except that WBC in CSF of EBE was lower than those of HSE.Conclusions EBE is not infrequent, about 10 % of encephalitis in children. EBE is always present independently, which is not a complication of infectious mononucleosis(IM).Detection of EBV-DNA in CSF is a sensitive and specific test for diagnosing of EBE. Early treatment may be beneficial to the prognosis of EBE.

AIM: To investigate the effect of testosterone with varied concentrations on the fibr inolysis activity of HUVEC and its mechanism. METHODS: Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) were cul tured as recommended.
