1.Role of bone marrow mobilization in the angiogenesis in ischemic hindlimbs of diabetic mice
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2000;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the angiogenesis effect induced by hone marrow mobilization on the ischemic hindlimbs of diabetic mice. Methods Diabetes mellitus was induced in mice by injection of streptozotocin. To observe the angiogenesis effect in ischemic limbs, unilateral femoral artery and all the side branches were excised and then was given granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) for bone marrow mobilization. Results The level of nitric oxide (NO) in plasma was significantly lowered 8 weeks after establishment of diabetes mellitus. After mobilization for 8 days,CD_(34)~+ cells in peripheral blood of mice were increased significantly [from (0.15?0.05)% to (2.30?0.41 )%],the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA level of ischemic limb, which was examined with semi-quantitative RT-PCR,became higher in diabetic mice than that in non-diabetic mice. Two weeks following mobilization, the blood perfusion detected by LASER Doppler perfusion scan in the ischemic hindlimbs was significantly higher in the diabetic mice than in that the nondiabetic mice [(76.37?6.10) % vs (18.07?3.40) %,P<0.05],vWF immunohistochemical staining showed that the density of capillaries was significantly greater in the mobilization group than that in the non- mobilization group [ (26.6?4.8 vs 11.5?2.6 )/per field,P<0.05 ].Conclusion Diabetes mellitus reduced the modulatory role of the endothelium in mice, but therapeutic angiogenesis induced by bone marrow mobilization could be an effective treatment for ischemic limb disease in diabetic mice.

With the Meta-analysis method, the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and other regular methods for aphasia was evaluated, and the acupoints selection for aphasia was explored. The acupuncture literature of clinical randomized control trials for aphasia published in CNKI, WANFANG, VIP and CBM database was searched; the statistical analysis of clinical efficacy of acupuncture and other regular methods for aphasia was performed by using software Revman 5. 2 provided by Cochrane library. A file of Microsoft Excel was established to perform the analysis of acupoints selection based on frequency analysis method, so as to summarize the characteristics and rules. Totally 385 articles were searched, and 37 articles those met the inclusive criteria was included, involving 1,260 patients in the acupuncture group and 1 238 patients in the control group. The Meta-analysis results showed OR = 3.82, 95% Cl [3.01, 4.85]; rhombus was located on the right side and the funnel plot was nearly symmetry, indicating the treatment effect of the acupuncture group for aphasia was superior to the control group (Z = 11.04, P < 0.000 01). The frequency-analysis results showed that the frequency of acupoints from top to bottom was Lian-quan (CV 23), Tongli (HT 5), Yamen (GV 15), Jinjin (EX-HN 12), Yuye (EX-HN 13), Baihui (GV 20), Yuyan II, Yuyan I and Yuyan III. The frequency of meridians from top to bottom was the governor vessel, extra channels, conception vessel, heart meridian and large intestine meridian. It is concluded that the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with speech rehabilitation training and medication treatment for aphasia is superior to that of speech rehabilitation training and medication treatment alone. The clinical treatment for aphasia focuses on its local effect; the main acupoints are in the head and face, and the meridians are governor vessel, extra channels and conception vessel.

China Pharmacy 2016;27(35):4917-4919
OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for rational use of antibiotics in terminal stage patients with malignant tumor. METHODS:The inpatients with malignant tumor who died in the department of medical oncology of our hospital from Mar. 2013 to Mar. 2016 were analyzed retrospectively in respects of general situation, infection situation and antibiotics use. RESULTS:Among 149 inpatients,a total of 129 infection cases were found in 113 patients(75.8%). The most frequent sites of infection were lung(65.9%),followed by digestive tract/abdomen(13.2%),and skin/wound(6.2%). 100 patients (67.1%)received antibiot-ics,61.1% of which were empiric treatment. β-lactam/β-lactam lactamase inhibitor(41.8%),fluoroquinolone(21.7%)and cepha-losporin(16.9%)were the top 3 frequently prescribed antibiotics. The effective rate of antibiotics treatment was as low as 15.8%, which was believed to be linked with the survival duration since infection occurred (P<0.001),the Karnofsky performance scale (KPS)score when infection occurred(P<0.001)and the duration of antibiotics treatment(P=0.025). CONCLUSIONS:Terminal stage patients with malignant tumor are vulnerable to infections, especially to pulmonary infection. The empirical broad-spectrum an-tibiotics are widely used in terminal patients with malignant tumor, but the effectiveness rate of antibiotic treatment is in low level. For those terminal stage patients with malignant tumor and with KPS score<60 points, when futile antibiotics treatment last for more than 7 days, timely termination of antibiotics treatment is a better choice.

Objective To explore the curative efficacy of astragalus injection on blood lipids and bone mineral density in patients with hemiplegia after ischemic stroke. Methods From January, 2014 to June, 2015, 116 patients with hemiplegia after ischemic stroke were col-lected and radomly divided into control group (n=54) and observation group (n=62). The control group received acupuncture based on con-ventional treatments, while the observation group received astragalus injection in addition. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NI-HSS) and Ability of Daily Living Scale (ADL) were used to assess the neurologic impairment and the ability of daily living. The curative ef-ficacy and the levels of blood lipids and bone mineral density were observed. Results Compared with the control group, the curative efficien-cy increased (χ2=3.960, P<0.05). The score of NIHSS decreased (t=3.490, P=0.001), and the score of ADL increased (t=2.820, P=0.006). The levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol significantly decreased (t>4.190, P<0.001), however, the lev-el of high density lipoprotein cholesterol did not change (P>0.05). The densities in forearm, femur and Ward's area in the hemiplegia side in-creased (t>2.060, P<0.05). Conclusion Astragalus injection is effective on hemiplegia after ischemic stroke, which can increase the curative efficacy, alleviate the neurologic impairment, promote the ability of daily living, improve the blood lipids and increase the bone mineral den-sity.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(24):-
Objective To explore the role of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1)in development of progressive fibrosis via the inhibition of extracellular matrix degradation, and to reveal the contributive role of PAI-1 in muscular dystrophy(MD).Methods Expression and cellular localization of PAI-1 protein were examined in frozen muscle specimens obtained via biopsy from 5 patients with duchenne muscular dystrophy(DMD),3 patients with becker muscular dystrophy(BMD),9 patients with congenital muscular dystrophy(CMD) and 4 cases with normal muscle by immunohistochemistry, double immunofluorescence and Western-blot analysis. Results PAI-1 was positive only in vascular endothelial cells of normal muscle. Both immunohistochemistry and Western-blot analysis showed that PAI-1 expression distinctly increased in most dystrophic muscles of MD than that in normal muscles.Double immunolabeling revealed that PAI-1 strongly expressed in cytoplasm and nuclei of regenerating muscle fibers, macrophages, macrophage infiltrating necrotic fibers. Some activated fibroblasts in endomysium and perimysium of DMD and CMD muscles were positive for PAI-1.Conclusions The functional consequence of overexpression of PAI-1 in dystrophic muscles is unknown but the elevated local expression of PAI-1 in diseased muscles of MD and their distinct distribution pattern provide evidence that PAI-1 participate in pathogenesis of MD.
