The effective quality control in clinical practices is an effective guarantee for the authenticity and scientificity of the findings. The post-marketing reevaluation for traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) focuses on the efficacy, adverse reaction, combined medication and effective dose of drugs in the market by expanded clinical trials, and requires a larger sample size and a wider range of patients. Therefore, this increases the difficulty of quality control in clinical practices. With the experience in quality control in clinical practices for the post-marketing reevaluation for Kangbingdu oral for cold, researchers in this study reviewed the study purpose, project, scheme design and clinical practice process from an overall point of view, analyzed the study characteristics of the post-marketing reevaluation for TCMs and the quality control risks, designed the quality control contents with quality impacting factors, defined key review contents and summarized the precautions in clinical practices, with the aim to improve the efficiency of quality control of clinical practices. This study can provide reference to clinical units and quality control-related personnel in the post-marketing reevaluation for TCMs.

AIM:To observe the structural basis of ocular motility abnormalities in patients with congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles type Ⅰ ( CFEOM Ⅰ) due to missense mutations in the developmental kinesin KIF21A using high - resolution magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI) .
METHODS: Totally 11 affected individuals reported KIF21A mutations were correlated with MRI studies demonstrating extraocular muscles ( EOMs ) size, location, contractility, and innervation. EOMs and the motor nerve in the orbits were imaged with T1 weighted in a triplanar scan using a dual-phased coils with 2. 0mm thick. Motor nerves were imaged at the brainstem using head coils and 3D-FIESTA with 0. 6-mm thick.
RESULTS: Patients with CFEOM Ⅰ exhibited different degrees of hypoplasia of oculomotor nerve, the abducens nerve and the trochlear nerve were also affected, of which 8 cases of orbital section could see the signal of abnormal nerve dominated by oculomotor nerve to lateral rectus. The both sides of six EOMS in all patients exhibited variable atrophy and abnormal bright internal signal on T1 imaging, particularly severe for the superior rectus and levator muscles.
CONCLUSION: High - resolution MRI can directly demonstrate pathology of motor nerves, affected EOMs, and ‘Pulley' hypoplasia caused by CFEOM Ⅰ due to mutations in KIF21A,and these findings suggest that the neuronal hypoplasia is the etiological factor of CFEOM.

Objective To explore the clinical significance of Slug expression in papillary thyroid carci-noma(PTC). Methods Employed Ventana immunohistochemistry assay to determine the expression of Slug in 107 cases of PTC and para-tumorous normal tissue. The relationship with Slug expression in PTC and clinico-pathology data were also analyzed. Results Expression of Slug in PTC (65.4%, 70/107)and para-tumorous nor-mal tissue (14.0%,15/107)were statistically different (P < 0.001). Overexpression of Slug in PTC was signifi-cantly associated with capsular invasion and lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05). Conclusion Overexpression of Slug in PTC is associated with capsular invasion and lymph node metastasis , these may suggest some clinical significance of Slug expression in PTC in predicting lymph node metastasis and prognosis.

OBJECTIVEThere is little knowledge on whether there is clustering of inflammatory biomarkers, such as C-reactive protein (CRP), soluble intracellular adhesion molecule1-1 (sICAM-1), and angiotensin II (Ang II), in individuals with hypertension in the Mongolian population. In the present study, we investigated this relationship in a Mongolian population in China.
METHODSA total of 2589 adult Mongolians, aged 20 years and older, were recruited as study participants. Data on demographics, lifestyle, family history of hypertension, blood pressure, and blood chemistry were collected, and inflammatory biomarkers were measured in all participants.
RESULTSThe proportion of subjects with increased levels of two or three biomarkers was significantly higher in those with hypertension (21.0% and 6.0%, respectively) than in those with prehypertension (12.7% and 0.5%, respectively) or normotension (8.1% and 0.2%, respectively). The multivariate adjusted odds ratios (95% confidence interval) of hypertension associated with increased levels of one, two or three biomarkers were 0.94 (0.72-1.22), 1.42 (0.93-2.16), and 11.08 (1.45-84.80), respectively, compared with subjects with no increase in any biomarker.
CONCLUSIONHypertension was associated with a cluster of inflammatory biomarkers in the Mongolian population.

The study was to develop cis-dichlorodiammineplatinum(DDP)-loaded formulations using a novel type of self-assembled compound composed of block copolymers synthesized by poly(?-glutamic acid)(?-PGA).For the potential of targeting liver cancer cells,D-galactose was conjugated on the prepared ?-PGA.In vitro,DDP can be released from the resulting conjugate in PBS:there was a burst release during the first 8 h,then followed by sustained release.DDP could be easily incorporated into poly(?-glutamic acid)-D-galactose esterifiable derivative through a covalent bond. The yield of DDP incorporation into the esterifiable derivative was 9.4%~10.2%.In vitro experiments conclusively established that the poly(?-glutamic acid)-D-galactose esterifiable derivative-Cisplatin Complex Compound(?-D+-DDP)was much less toxic to normal cell lines than DDP only. The surviving rate of cells treated with ?-D+-DDP compound is higher than those treated with free DDP.Also it has obvious antitumor efficiency on human liver tumor BEL-7402 cells.HE staining indicated that the ?-D+-DDP compound make the BEL-7402 apoptosis. These results indicated that the conjugation of DDP to the esterifiable derivative reduced its cytotoxicity activity, but retains its antitumor activity in vitro. In conclusion, the ?-D+-DDP compound could be used as a potential clinic antitumor drug. The ?-PGA obtained by fermentation can be used as a valuable drug carrier system.

DDP could be easily incorporated into poly (?-glutamic acid)-D-galactose esterifiable derivative through a covalent bond. The yield of DDP incorporation into the ?-PGA was 9.4%~10.2%. The DDP was released in the initial 8h in a burst manner, and thereafter in a sustained manner. The results that the conjugation of DDP to poly (?-glutamic acid)-D-galactose esterifiable derivative not only reduced the toxicity of the DDP but also enhanced antitumor activity and the targeting ability. The vivo experiments conclusively established that the ?-D+-DDP compound was much less toxic to animals than DDP alone. A direct evaluation showed that mice treated with ?-D+-DDP compound at a dose of 7.5 mg/kg displayed significant tumor regression. Furthermore, the implanted solid tumors disappeared completely from 35% of the H22 tumor-bearing mice after ?-D+-DDP compound administration. The aforementioned results of biodistributions of the prepared ?-D+-DDP compound in various organs in normal mice demonstrated that the ?-D+-DDP compound had a specific interaction with liver's parenchymal cells and H22 hepatocellular carcinoma tumor cells via ligand receptor recognition. In conclusion, the results indicated that the ?-D+-DDP compound prepared can effectively target the site of hepatoma tumor via the recognition and significantly reduce its size. The ?-D+-DDP compound was less toxic than the free DDP,and could effectively reduce xenografted H22 hepatocellular carcinoma cells in KM mice and prolong the survival of KM mice grafted with H22 hepatocellular carcinoma tumor cells. Therefore, the prepared ?-D+-DDP compound may be used as a potential drug delivery system for the targeted delivery to liver cancers or other liver diseases.
