1.Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 Expression in Cerebral Ischemia (review)

The expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) after cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury can accelerate the damage of brain-blood barrier and plays an important role in brain edema after cerebral hemorrhage. The level of MMP-9 can reflex the severity of brain ischemia, indicate to the volume of infarct area and point out the prognosis of the disease. This article reviewed its source and expression,the gene regulation and polymorphism, hemorrhage transformation and nhibitors, and the mechanism was also analyzed.
2.Acupuncture Therapy for Ischemic Stroke in Model of Rats (review)

The recent literatures showed that the acupuncture therapy had played a special role in treating ischemic stroke, including the changes of fibrinolysis, amino acid neurotransmitters, active peptides, proteins in the blood, calmodulin, nitric oxide and the synthase, and so on. But the standard of judgments, the manipulations of acupuncture, the selection of acupoints, and the course of treatment remain uncertain.
3.Genetic diversity in Fluconazole-resistant and -susceptible oral Candida albicans isolated from patients with Sjgren's syndrome

Objective:To analyze genetic diversity of Fluconazole(FLZ)-resistant and -susceptible Candida albicans(C. albicans) strains isolated from patients with Sjgren's Syndrome (SS). Methods:30 C.albicans strains were isolated from the patients with SS and identified using standard criteria. Microdilution method was performed to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of C.albicans to FLZ. A composite genotype was generated for each strain through random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) using three different primers, RSD10, RSD11 and RSD12. Results:The DNA fingerprinting profiles indicated genetic diversity amongst both the FLZ-resistant as well as -susceptible isolates, and no specific features emerged distinguishing the drug-resistant and -susceptible groups. Conclusion:These observations cast doubt on the theory of a clonal origin of FLZ-resistant C. albicans isolates. The emergence of FLZ resistance in SS patients may be associated with continuous exposure to FLZ.
4.Study Progress on Pathogenesis of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura

Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) as an autoimmune disease,is the most common clinical hemorrhagic disease.But,its pathogenesis is not completely clear yet.Low platelet count can easily repeate in chronic ITP patients,there are poor efficacy in refractory ITP patients,too.In recent years,a series of important progress on the pathogenesis of ITP had been made.In the humoral mechanism,there were significant progress on the emergence of autoantibodies;the theory on anomaly of the megakaryocyte quantity and quality caused by autoantibody were put forward.In the cellular mechanisms,the theory on reduction in the number of Tr cells,Co-stimulative signal and platelets directly dissolved by cytotoxicity T cells were put forward also.This review will be made to sum up the study progress on the pathogenesis of ITP.
5.Significance of Changes of Serum B Cell Activating Factor Belonging to Tumor Necrosing Factor Family in Children with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura

Objective To explore the significance of the changes of serum B cell activating factor(BAFF) in children with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP).Methods The concentrations of BAFF were detected by ELISA in 42 children with ITP(test group) before and after treatment in the Children′s Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University from Apr.to Nov.2008,the blood platelet count(BPC) was detected also.And 40 children who were operated selectively were selected as control group.The variation of concentrations of BAFF were analyzed among children with ITP before,after treatment and control group.Moreover,the relationship between serum BAFF expression and BPC were analyzed by the Pearson test.Results The concentrations of serum BAFF were higher in children with ITP before treatment compared with that in control group [(0.943 3?0.583 5) ?g?L-1 vs(0.538 9?0.234 7) ?g?L-1,P0.05).There was negative correlation between serum BAFF expression and BPC(r=-0.305,P

10.Protective effect of non-mitogenic human acidic fibroblast growth factor from renal ischemia-reperfusion injury*

AIM:To investigate the effect of non-mitogenic human acidic fibroblast growth factor(nm-haFGF)on renal ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats.METHODS:Rat renal ischemia-reperfusion(I/R)injury was produced by removing the left kidney and subsequently clamping the right renal artery for 60 min followed by reperfusion for 24 h.5 min after reperfusion.different doses of nm-haFGF and haFGF(as positive control)were injected by lingual vein.24 h later,the samples of blood,urine and kidney were collected and the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),creatinine(Cr)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity were detected.Histopathological changes were also observed.RESULTS:In the serum,SOD activity of all the nm-haFGF groups and the haFGF group increased significantly while the content of MDA decreased dramatically compared with the model group;The content of BUN and Cr aland haFGF group rose significantly compared with the model group,while MDA decreased dramatically.Histological examination showed that nm-haFGF markedly attenuates the renal edema,brush border's defluvium and cell necrosis induced by ischemia-reperfusion.CONCLUSION:nm-haFDF could resist the renal injury induced by ischemia-reperfusion in rats.
