2. Mechanism of reversing cisplatin resistance by Xiaoyan Decoction in lung cancer
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2020;51(9):2486-2491
Objective: To investigate the possible mechanism of reversal of cisplatin resistance in lung cancer by Xiaoyan Decoction. Methods: The migration ability of cancer cells was observed by the scratch test, and the MTT was used to test the mobility of cancer cells. The siRNA transfection was applied to demonstrate the possible molecular mechanisms. The mRNA and protein expression levels were detected by real-time quantitative reverse transcription PCR and Western Blot. Results: MTT showed that A549/DDP could significantly inhibit cell proliferation at later points of time. Similarly, cisplatin combined with Xiaoyan Decoction could significantly inhibit cell proliferation at 48, 72 and 96 h. Scratch test showed that the migration distance was shorter in A549/DDP/siRNA-Beclin1 cell line than NC. MTT showed the proliferation of A549/DDP/siRNA-Beclin1 cell line was decreased when compaired with NC. Western blot also showed that the protein expression of P-gp and LRP was decreased. MTT also detected that cisplatin and Xiaoyan Decoction significantly inhibited cell proliferation of A549/DDP/siRNA-Beclin1 cell at later points of time. Cisplatin combined with Xiaoyan Decoction significantly inhibited cell proliferation in the whole course. The results showed that protein expression level of YAP1, P-gp and LRP in A549/DDP/siRNA-Beclin1 cell line was significantly lower than those in NC. Conclusion: Xiaoyan Decoction may improve the sensitivity to cisplatin may via Beclin 1-YAP1 pathway.

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical manifestation, mechanism and optimal treatment of hydronephrosis after spinal cord injury. Methods58 slight and moderate cases were retrospectively analyzed. ResultsThere were no differences in the remitted time among the therapies of indwelling catheter, intermittent catheterization and medicine, mixed therapy. 56 (96.55%) SCI hydronephrosis remitted after treatment, 28(48.28%) recurred within 3 months. The recurrence rate of the patients with detrusor sphincter dyssynergia (57.14%) was higher than that of the detrusor hyperreflexia (28.57%) and the detrusor hyporeflexia (14.29%). The recurrence was associated with the fact that many patients couldn't keep up with the systematic therapy.ConclusionThe onset of SCI hydronephrosis is indistinct and recurrent easily. Keeping up with intermittent catheterization and taking medicine can prevent SCI hydronephrosis recurrence effectively.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of the superficial venous trunk (SVT) and its nourishing vessels on early revascularization of the reverse-flow random flap in order to provide theoretical evidences for clinical applications.
METHODSThe morphologic changes of micrangium of the reverse-flow random flap with SVT and without SVT were observed at different phases and compared by optical microscopy and stereological methods.
RESULTSThe micrangium density of the flaps with SVT and without SVT showed a tendency of increasing at 3 days after the operation. At 5 to 10 days, the micrangium density of the flap with SVT was much higher than the flap without SVT. There was significant difference between the two groups, which was proved by the optical microscopy observation.
CONCLUSIONSThis study suggests that SVT and its nourishing vessels could promote early revascularization of the flap after transplantation. The SVT can be of benefit to the survival of the reverse-flow random flap.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2008;24(1):20-22
OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical application of reversed sural neurofasciocutaneous flaps in children.
METHODSFrom January 2002 to January 2007, 16 children patients with deep defect of foot and ankle were treated with reversed sural neurofasciocutaneous flaps. The size of the flaps ranged from 6.5 cm x 5.0 cm to 17 cm x 10 cm. The upper margin of the flaps reached the upper one-third of the leg in 10 cases, with 2 cases reaching the popliteal fossa and 1 case reaching 1.5 cm above the transverse line of popliteal fossa.
RESULTSThe flaps survived completely in 14 cases. There were partial necrosis at the distal end of flap in one case and superficial necrosis at the distal end of the flap in one case. The wounds were healed spontaneously after secondary suture and dressing change. The patients were followed up for 2 - 46 months with good aesthetic results.
CONCLUSIONSThe reverse sural neurofasciocutaneous flaps in children has a reliable survival area, which can reach the upper on -third of the leg until the transverse line of popliteal fossa. It is an ideal reconstructive method for deep defect of foot and ankle.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2006;31(3):184-231
The concentration of extract of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is one of the important unit operations that affect the quality of the pharmaceutical products. However, there are some problems to be solved. The concentration process has the shortages of relatively high temperature, relatively long time or low efficient, some losses of active and volatile ingredients, more operation steps, easy fouling and emission of waste water. In order to solve these problems, many new technologies and installations have been developed in the past thirty years, including suspension freeze-concentration, progressive freeze-concentration, single- or multi-effect evaporation with an external natural circulating flow, on-line preventing fouling evaporation with vapor-liquid-solid flow, reverse osmosis concentration, membrane distillation, osmotic distillation, macro-porous resin adsorption etc. The system of the extract of TCM is very complex. The extract includes water and alcohol extracts. The composition of TCM is made of active and inactive ingredients. Hence, it is necessary to master the features of every concentration technologies and installations, including their merits and demerits, flexibilities, degree of maturations of techniques and so on to get a wise choice for the industry applications. New concentration technologies and installations of the extract of TCM developed recently are reviewed in this paper. The characteristics of each method are analyzed and discussed in order to guide the industry applications. At the same time, the further research directions of concentration techniques of extract of TCM are also given.
