Objective To evaluate the effect of wild feces detection in Oncomelania hupensis environments on the surveil?lance of infection source of schistosomiasis, and find the weakness in schistosomiasis control in Hubei Province,so as to put for?ward the targeted strategies and measures. Methods Four environments with O. hupensis snails in endemic areas of Hubei Provinces, where human and livestock often haunted, were selected according to the river systems, namely the Juzhanghe River beach in Jingzhou City,Changjiang River beach in Jiayu County,Hanbei River beach in Tianmen City, and Changshou River beach in Zhongxiang City, then the snail survey and wild feces detection were implemented in the selected environments. Re?sults There were O. hupensis snails, livestock, wild feces of cattle or sheep as well as positive cattle feces found in all the 4 environments, and the positive rate of schistosome miracidium incubation was 47.62%. Conclusion The schistosome miracidi?um positive rate of wild feces of cattle is high in the environments with snails in endemic areas of Hubei Province ,which has high risk for schistosomiasis transmission.

Although traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) shows its effectiveness undoubtedly in clinical practice, the deficiency in objective assessment methods is yet a bottleneck which has restricted its development of modernization and internationalization. On the basis of clinical experiences, the authors discussed the title cutting from current situation and tendency, and expanded gradually. It is concluded that by aiming directly at problems and referring to the principle and methods of evidence-based medicine (EBM), using rationally the design in clinical practice and combined with individualization and standardization should be a feasible way for TCM clinical therapeutic effect assessment.

Objective To optimize the extraction process of anti-hepatic fibrosis water-soluble component from Carthamus tinctorius L. via the orthogonal method. Methods The influences of type and content of solvent, extraction time, and extraction frequency on processing were investigated by assessing the content of hydroxysafflor yellow A,yield of extraction and anti-hepatic fibrosis potency via the high performance liquid chromatography and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay by L9(3)4 orthogonal test. Results The optimum extracting condition for the anti-hepatic fibrosis water-soluble component from carthamus tinctorius L. was as follows: extracting with 10 times the volume of 10% ethanol for twice, 0. 5 h in each. Conclusion The process is scientific and feasible, which serves as a guideline for the production of the anti-hepatic fibrosis water-soluble components.

Objective To summarize the clinical experience in treatment of the Lisfranc joint injury with open reduction and internal fixation at early stage. Methods Twelve patients ( including ten males and two females at average age of 34 years) with early stage Lisfranc joint injury received open reduction and screw/wire fixation from 2005 to 2010. According to the Myerson classification, there were two patients with type A, eight with type B and two with type C. All the patients received open reduction and internal fixation with screw or Kirschner wire within 17 days after injury. The post-operative function was estimated by mid-foot scoring scale of AOFAS. X-ray and CT scan were used in radiography estimation. Results All the patients were followed up for average 33 months ( range, 6-60 months). The mean score of post-operative mid-foot scoring scale of AOFAS was 74.5 points ( range, 53-96 points), with excellent result in eight patients, good in two and fair in two. The anatomical reduction was observed in eight patients and all the patients obtained bony union according to the results of X-ray and CT scan. There was no any complication found. Conclusions Open reduction and internal fixation is a good choice for the treatment of Lisfranc joint injury at early stage. A preoperative comprehensive analysis combined with clinical X-ray and CT scan is necessary.

Objective To explore the urban population hyperlipidemia and chronic kidney disease relationship by epidemiological studies. Methods 800 health examiners were randomly investigation. To determine these blood pressure, height, weight;to determine these urinary albumin and creatinine in urine, serum creatinine, serum total cholesterol,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. To calculate glomerular filtration rate and urinary albu- min and creatinine ratio according to serum creatinine.Diagnastic criteria of CKD was eGFR30mg/g and lasted three months or more. Results 238 patients with high blood lipids was found, the overall prevalence rate was 29.75 %,patients with high blood lipids compared with the normal popula- tion.the incidence of renal injury rates were respectively 15.13 % and 9.07 %.Kidney damage rates were respective- ly 19.69% and 9.91% in the hypercholesterolemia with and without obese patients. Conclusion Hyperlipidemia has become particularly important etiology of CKD.

OBJECTIVE:To study the decoction rate changes of 4 active ingredients in the volatile oil of Curcuma phaeocaulis before and after combined with Sparganium stoloniferum, and provide reference for showing the compatibility mechanism of C. pha-eocaulis and S. stoloniferum. METHODS:HPLC was used to simultaneously determine the contents of 4 active ingredients(curdi-one,curcumol,germacrone and β-elemene) in the volatile oil of C. phaeocaulis after C. phaeocaulis single decoction and com-bined decoction with S. stoloniferum. And the fried rates of each ingredient were compared. RESULTS:Compared with C. phaeo-caulis single decoction, there was significant difference in the fried amounts of curdione, curcumol, germacrone in the volatile oil after combined decoction(P<0.05)and no significant difference in fried rate ofβ-elemene(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:The com-bined decoction of C. phaeocaulis and S. stoloniferum can effectively improve the dissolution of curdione, curcumol, germacrone in the volatile oil. It may be the reason for the enhancement of efficacy after compatibility.
