Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;30(6):1321-1325
Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals provide an objective physiological index for the identification of the driver's fatigue state. It is very important to choose appropriate channels and EEG signal features adaptively due to the features varying with different subjects and time. A support vector machine (SVM) based increasing feature selection algorithm for driving fatigue EEG classification is presented in this paper. The algorithm is a method to select EEG channels and features for driving fatigue adaptively in an ascending order. We can select the optimal feature each time from the remaining candidate features using the optimized SVM model minimum error rate as the index. The experimental calculation has characteristics of using 16 electrode channels which cover the whole head in the main area, of selecting 208 candidate features as the initial set, of selecting to the EEG data calculation recorded in 5 different time periods of a subject, and of choosing error rate of 2% as the algorithm termination condition. The selected features and models, therefore, can reach a high level of classification and generalization ability.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2014;(7):710-712
Objective Evaluation of left ventricular ( LV) function has great clinical significance in patients with early chro-nic kidney disease (CKD).The study was to evaluate whether two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (2D-STI) technique can offer additional information of cardiac dysfunction in early CKD patients . Methods Conventional echocardiography and 2D-STI echocar-diography were performed in CKD group of 20 patients at stage Ⅱ-Ⅲ and control group of 20 healthy volunteers .LV structure and function were evaluated by conventional echocardiography .Multidirectional strain , strain rate and LV twist parameters were analyzed by 2D-STI technique. Results There was no statistical difference in conventional echocardiographic parameters such as left atrial diam -eter, end-diastolic LV diameter and ejection fraction between CKD group and control group .By applying 2D-STI technique, CKD group had significantly decreased value of global longitudinal strain (-19.8 ±2.4)%and strain rate(-1.1 ±0.3)S-1 in comparison to control group(-22.6 ±2.1)%、( -1.8 ±0.2)S-1, along with significant increase in the values of maximum LV rotation (11.6 ± 4.4)°and LV twist(19.6 ±3.8)°in comparison to control group(8.2 ±3.7)°、(13.5 ±3.6)°(P<0.05).There was no differences in both global circumferential and radial deformation parameters as well as maximum rotation value of LV assist device between two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion 2D-STI can detect subclinical LV dysfunction sensitively in early CKD patients .

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2013;(3):270-274
Background Increase of lens thickness at incipient cataract is a key factor of onset of primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG).Phacoemulsification (Phaco) or phacotrabeculectomy (Phacotrabe) have been documented to be effective for the patients of PACG associated with cataract. However, which surgery is more effective and safe is lack of evidence. Objective This study was to assess and compare the clinical effectiveness of Phaco versus Phacotrabe for PACG with cataract. Methods The relevant literature was searched electronically from the PubMed (1966 to June 2011),EMB Reviews (1966 to June 2011) and Cochrane Library (Issue 1,2011).The manually searching of relevant conference proceedings was used as the supplement. The articles of randomized controlled trial (RCT) about the clinical effectiveness of Phaco versus Phacotrabe for PACG with cataract were included. The methodology quality of included literature was graded. The analysis indexes included intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowing range, postoperative administration of glaucoma drugs, incidence of positive complication, postoperative best corrective visual acuity (BCVA) and perimetry damage. The RevMan4.2 software from Cochrane Collaboration was used for the Meta analyses. Results Three RCTs about phaco versus Phacotrabe for PACG with cataract were selected in this study with the 164 eyes of 164 cases.Meta analysis showed that the IOP-lowing range was larger in the Phacotrabe group compared to only Phaco group with the WMD of 1.17 and 95% CI of 0.06-2.27 (P =0.040),and the drug dosage of anti-glaucoma was less in the Phacotrabe group in comparison with the Phaco group with the WMD of 0.5 and 95% CI of 0.24-0.77 (P =0.000).However,the incidence of postoperative complication was higher in the Phacotrabe group than that of the Phaco group with the RR of 0.08 and 95% CI of 0.02-0.33 (P =0.000).No significant difference was found in the BCVA (WMD =0,95% CI:-0.13-0.13,P=1.00) andperimetry (WMD =1.01,95%CI:0.56-1.82,P=0.98).Conclusions Compared with Phaco,Phacotrab has a better IOP-lowing effectiveness and slightly worse safety.Phaco and Phacotrab have a fairly influencc in the postoperative BCVA and perimetry. As the sample sizes of the included trials are relatively small, more welldesigned large-scale RCTs are needed.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2001;36(3):220-223
AIM To prepare lung targeted tetrandrine (TET) loaded sustained-release drug delivery system by microencapsulation, decrease the toxicity and enhance the therapeutic function of anti-pulmonary hypertension of TET. METHODS Albumin microcapsules were produced by spray drying-thermal denaturation, a new technique. Some characterization of the prepared microcapsules was evaluated. Distribution of the microcapsules and their anti-pulmonary hypertension effect in vivo were investigated. RESULTS The spherical microcapsules showed a drug loading of 37.88%. Compared to the original drug, the rate of TET released from the positively charged microcapsules in vitro was significantly decreased and fitted well by Higuchi equation. The TET concentrations in mouse lungs of TET microcapsules were significantly higher than those of TET injection, and the mean retained time of TET in lungs was prolonged from 157.1 h to 223.6 h after microencapsulation. The in vitro - in vivo correlation was established and confirmed (P<0.001). CONCLUSION The new spray drying-thermal denaturation method allows the preparation of drug loaded albumin microcapsules with desired results. The prepared microcapsules were found to have the potential function of delivering TET to pulmonary artery via iv, with low toxicity and high efficacy.
