China Medical Equipment 2017;14(7):84-87
Objective: To investigate the diagnostic value of automatic breast volume system (ABVS) for breast carcinoma in clinical practice so as to use these reliable data to provide imaging reference for further therapy. Methods: 300 patients with suspected breast cancer were selected and the postoperative pathological examinations were chosen as the golden standard to implement screening. At the same time, 2 radiologists were selected to carry out the grading diagnoses of breast imaging reporting and data system (BI-RADS) so as to observe the consistency between diagnoses of ABVS and pathological results. Results: 210 patients were diagnosed as breast tumor by the post-operative pathological examination, and these patients included 89 malignant tumor (29.67%, 89/300). In these malignant cases, there were 42 cases were infiltrative ductal carcinoma, and its rate was 47.19% (42/89). Besides, there were 121 cases were benign tumor (40.33%), and the rate of patients with fibrosum adenoma (78 cases) was the highest in the 121 cases (64.46%, 78/121). And the diagnostic consistency of them was preferably (K=0.724). The sensitivity and specificity of ABVS in diagnosing breast carcinoma were 92.86% and 85.56%, respectively. Its positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 93.75% and 83.70%, respectively. And the Youden index was 0.78. Conclusion: ABVS has relatively high sensitivity and specificity, and the screening test has good authenticity and reproducibility. Therefore, it can provide a reliable basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To evaluate the effects of dexmedetomidine on the oxidative stress responses during global cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in rats. Methods Thirty-six male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 250-300 g,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =12 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (group S),global cerebral I/R group (group I/R) and dexmedetomidine group (group D).Global cerebral ischemia was induced by occlusion of bilateral common carotid arteries combined with hypotension (MAP maintained at 35-45 mmHg).In group D,dexmedetomidine was infused at a rate of 3 μg · kg-1 · h-1until 2 h of reperfusion after a loading dose of dexmedetomidine 3 μg/kg was intravenously injected immediately after onset of reperfusion. The neurological deficit score (NDS) was assessed at 24 h of reperfusion, the rats were then sacrificed, and their brains were immediately removed for determination of cell apoptosis and levels of malondialdehyde (MDA),superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT).Apoptotic rate was calculated. Results Compared with group S,NDS,apoptotic rate and MDA level were significantly increased, and SOD and CAT levels were decreased in I/R and D groups.Compared with group I/R,NDS,apoptotic rate and MDA level were significantly decreased, and SOD and CAT levels were increased in group D.Conclusion Dexmedetomidine attenuates global cerebral I/R injury through inhibiting the oxidative stress responses.

Background Compare with the lamellar laser refractive surgery, the laser slip on the surface operation is a better method in the correct of refractive error without the flap-related complications. However, whether to remain corneal epithelial flap and its influence for epithelial healing and visual restoration are still under investigation. Objective The aim of this study was to compare the short-term clinical efficacy of epipolis laser insitu keratomileusis (Epi-LASIK) and flap-free Epi-LASIK for correction of refractive error in high myopia. Methods The paired control design was adopted.Sixty eyes of consecutive 30 patients with high myopia were collected in this study. The written consent form was obtained from each patients prior to operation.Regular EpiLASIK was performed in the right eyes and the flap-free Epi-LASIK was carried out in the left eyes.Patients were followed-up for one month. The postoperative ocular irritation symptoms were scored, and the healing period of corneal epithelium and uncorrected visual acuity were examined at 1,3 and 5 days after operation. The naked visual acuity, diopter, best corrected visual acuity and the grading of haze were recorded and compared between the two groups at one month after operation. Results After surgery, the scores of corneal irritation were 3.13 ±0.43 and 3.30±0.47on the first day, showing insignificant differences between these two groups (t =- 1.54,P>0.05 ).However, there existed statistically significant difference in the scores of corneal irritation on the third day after operation between the two groups (t =- 17.95,P<0.01 ).The average time of corneal epithelial healing were (2.58 ±0.49 ) days in the flapfree Epi-LASIK group and ( 3.98 ±0.74) days in Epi-LASIK group with the significant difference between them (t=-11.36,P<0.01 ).There was no statistical difference in uncorrected visual acuity in the first day (0.59±0.12 vs 0.58±0.11,t=0.39,P>0.05),the fifth day (0.69±0.08 vs 0.67±0.09,t=0.84,P>0.05) and 1 month (t =-1.90,P>0.05 ).No significant difference was seen in the diopter between the two groups in 1 month after surgery (-1.03±0.45 vs -1.07 ±0.38,t =-0.31,P>0.05 ).The eye numbers of corneal haze for 0 grade were 27 ( 90.00% ) and over the 0.5 grade were 3 ( 10.00% ) in flap-free Epi-LASIK group respectively, and those of corneal haze for 0 grade were 26(86.66% ) and above the 0.5 grade were 4 (13.33%) in Epi-LASIK group respectively, showing a considerably difference between the two groups (x2 =0.0031,P>0.05).Conclusions Both the flapfree or reserved epithelial Epi-LASIK allow the safe and effective correction of refractive error in high myopia, showing good predictability and stability in short term.Flap-free Epi-LASIK can relieve the corneal irritation symptom and accelerate the healing of corneal epithelium and recovery of visual acuity.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(20):1579-1584
OBJECTIVE:
To study the influence of PD173074 on proliferation and apoptosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
METHOD:
With immunoblotting and RT-PCR, FGFR1 expression was detected in CNE, PONE1 and C666-1 cell lines. With MTT assay, the time-effect and dose-effect correlation between PD173074 and inhibition of CNE proliferation was evaluated. After PD173074 stimulation, the phosphorylation level of FGFR1 and AKT was detected with immunoblotting assay. Furthermore, influence of PD173074 on the activation of Caspase3 and Caspase9 was detected to study the underlying mechanism of why PD173074 could inhibit CNE proliferation.
RESULT:
FGFR1 has the highest expression in CNE cell line. Under incubation of 10 nmol/L PD173074 stimulation for 36 hours to 72 hours, the phosphorylation of FGFR1 and AKT was impaired significantly, which further reduced the proliferation of CNE. Moreover, PD173074 can activate the intrinsic apoptotic pathway by stimulating Caspase9,which activated Caspase3 and induced the apoptosis.
CONCLUSION
PD173074 could inhibit proliferation of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell through reducing the phosphorylation of FGFR1 and AKT. Additionally, PD173074 can induce CNE apoptosis by activating intrinsic apoptotic pathway via cleaving Caspase9 and Caspase3.
