1.Clinical Evaluation of Microwave Tissue Coagulation Treatment of Verruca Vulgaris
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2001;21(1):69-70
ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of microwave tissue coagulation (MTC) to treat verruca vulgaris. MethodsWe observed the lesion healing, post- operation infection and scar forma- tion of verruca vulgaris 182 patients in who received MTC treatment. ResultsThe one - operation cure rate was 87.75 %. The post - operation infection rate was 2.90 %. The healing time varied from 1 to 8 weeks according to the different lesion location. No obvious scar was observed except 2 patients. ConclusionMTC is a convenient, effective and safe method of treatment for verruca vulgaris.

OBJECTIVETo report a case of simple congenital bilateral ejaculatory duct absence (EDA) complicated with seminal vesicle cyst and review the relevant literature in order to improve the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
METHODSWe retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of a case of bilateral congenital EDA complicated with seminal vesicle cyst, reviewed the relevant literature at home and abroad, and comprehensively analyzed the embryonic development, diagnosis, and treatment of congenital EDA.
RESULTSThe patient was a 23-year-old man, present at the clinic for infertility after married for a year. Vasography and other imaging examinations confirmed simple congenital bilateral EDA complicated with seminal vesicle cyst. Pathologic biopsy showed normal spermatogenic function of the testes.
CONCLUSIONCongenital EDA originates from embryonic developmental defect of the mesonephric duct, and it can be confirmed by vasography. Transurethral incision of the ejaculatory duct and intracytoplasmic sperm injection can be employed for the treatment of bilateral EDA.

[Objective]To investigate the clinical effect of treatment of complex Pilon's fractures with limited internal fixations and external fixators.[Method]Since 2000,78 cases of complex Pilon's fractures with limited internal fixations and external fixators were treated,of which male 51cases,female 27cases,aged 20~79 years old, average 36 yrs.According to Ovadia and Beals classification, type Ⅲ 27 cases, type Ⅳ 35 cases, type Ⅴ 16 cases, fresh fracture 53cases,old fracture 25 cases, close fracture 57 cases, open fracture 21 cases. They were all treated by Kirsschner wires and screws together with external fixators.External fixator were removed at 1.5~2 months after operation and splints were used and began ankle movement.[Result]All cases were followed up after operation. The following observation time was 1~3 years, average 20 months. All fractures were ostcal concrescence. Two cases were evaginate about 5 degree.Three cases were open injury and needed flap grafting rehabilitation because skin and soft tissue were compressed severely and necrotized.Traumatic artharitis occurred in 4 cases, nitric oxide-releasing anti-inflammatory drug was needed. One case was treated with arthrodesis. The functional evaluation was completed according to standard of American Orthopedic Association of Foot and Ankle. The excellent rate was 87.2%.[Conclusion]Limited internal fixation and external fixator is one of the effective way of treatment of Pilon's fracture because it can immobilize the sections of fracture and avoid infection of soft tissue and nonunion of fracture.

The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of anti intercellular adhesion molecule 1(ICAM 1) monoclonal antibody in a rat model of myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (I/R). Anaesthetized rats were subjected to total occlusion (45 min) of the left main coronary artery followed by 24 h reperfusion. The area of myocardial necrosis, myocardial function (such as LVSP, +P′max, LVEDP and -P′max) and PMN infiltration were measured. We found that the area of myocardial necrosis in treated rats was smaller than that in control group ( P

Objective To analyze the active principle of Melagenine and its effect on melanocytes of guinea epidermis. Methods The content of endothelins and sialic acid of Melagenine were determined by radioimmunoassay and spectrophotometer. The skin of the back of guinea pigs was treated with Melagenine and irradiated with infrared-ray.Then the biopsy specimens were taken from the treated and untreated back skin, sections and supe-rthin sections were prepared for special staining and TEM examination, respectively, the number melanocytes and melanin content index(MCI)were measured. Results The contents of en-dothelins and sialic acid in melagenine were210.5?30.1pg/mL and147.9?12.1?g/mL,respectively;the number of melanocytes, the keratinocytes with melanin granules and the melanin content index were all in-creased significantly in the treated skin. Conclusions There are endothelins, carbohydrates and glycolipids in melagenine, endothelins can promote the proliferation of melanocytes, while carbohydrates and glycolipids can enhance intercellular recognition and adhesion. The result of the study shows that melagenine promotes the proliferation of melanocytes and synthesis of melanin in the skinof guinea pigs.

Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics of small intestinal stromal tumors(SIST), and evaluate the diagnostic values of various imaging or endoscope examinations for SIST. Methods From July 2004 to June 2009, 74 patients whose operation or endoscopy biopsy tissues pathologically confirmed SIST were collected. The clinical data, imageology including enteroclysis, abdominal ultrasound, spiral computered tomography (CT) and the double-balloon enteroscopy report of the patients were analyzed retrospectively. According to biological behavior, the SIST was divided into four risk degree such as extremely low risk, low risk, moderate risk and high risk. The correlation between pathologic characters and spiral CT feature was analyzed. Results The most predilection site of SIST was jejunum in 43 patients (58.1 %); secondarily duodenum in 17 cases (23%); and 10 cases (13.5%) in ileum. About 94.6 percent of patients (70/74) showed clinical signs, the most common symptom was gastrointestinal bleeding in 46 cases (67. 2 % ), abdominal pain in 23 cases (31.1%). Of various photogrammetry examinations and endoscopy, spiral CT has the highest diagnosis rate and diagnosis coincidence rate, which was 100% and 72. 1% respectively. Among the 74 SIST lesions, 14 cases were extremely low biological risk (18. 9 % ), 21 at low risk (28.4 % ), 15 at moderate risk (20. 3%) and 24 at high risk (32.4%). Spiral CT is helpful for the SIST risk diagnosis. Conclusions The onset of SIST was concealed and early diagnosis was very difficult. Spinal CT which could help to predict the tumor's risk degree and prognosis was noninvasive, convenient and reliable. Therefore, it could be the first choice for SIST examination at present.
