ObjectiveTo explore the influence factors of prognosis of spinal cord injury patients. MethodsFollow-up data of 121 cases with spinal cord injury was analysed with retrospective cohort study.ResultsThe highest recover rate was in the patients who accepted the special rehabilitation therapy,while that of recovering two class was in the patients who accepted the magnetic stimulation.Conclusions Special recovering cure and magnetic stimulation can surely promote recovery of spinal cord injury patients.

Objective To measure the vitamin B1 levels in plasma,erythrocytes and urine of the patients with type 2 diabetes,and to analyze the correlation of vitamin B1 level with the progression of diabetic nephropathy,and to clarify the metabolism of nutrtion mechanism of type 2 diabetic nephropathy.Methods Total 90 patients with type 2 diabetes and 30 healthy volunteers were recruited.According to the levels of microalbuminuria,the patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into non diabetic nephropathy (NDN)group,early diabetic nephropathy (EDN)group and clinical diabetic nephropathy (CDN)group (n=30);the healthy people was used as normal control (NC) group.The vitamin B1 levels in the plasma,erythrocytes and urine were examined with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The correlation of microalbuminuria with the plasma viamin B1 level was analyzed. Results The level of vitamin B1 in plasma of the patients in NC group was (7.1±3.3)μg·L-1,while it was (4.0±2.3)μg·L-1 in NDN group,(3.1±1.0)μg·L-1 in EDN group and (2.3±0.6)μg·L-1 in CDN group. Compared with NC group,the vitamin B1 levels in the plasma in NDN,EDN and CDN groups dropped 43.7%, 56.3%,and 67.6%,respectively (P<0.05). The excretion of vitamin B1 in urine were (2.9 ± 0.8),(9.0 ± 4.7),(11.7±3.9),and (15.6±5.0)μg·L-1 in NC group,NDN group,EDN group and CDN group, respectively.Compared with NC group,the vitamin B1 levels in the urine in NDN,EDN and CDN groups were increased by 2,3 and 4 times,respectively (P<0.05).A negative correlation was found between the level of microalbuminuria and the level of vitamin B1 in plasma (r=-0.62,P=0.013).Conclusion Vitamin B1 deficiency can be observed in the early stage of diabetic nephropathy,and the level of vitamin B1 is closely correlated with the progression of diabetic nephropathy.

AlM:To investigate the effect of teaching mode of problem- based learning ( PBL ) in the teaching of medical students' clinical ophthalmology.
METHODS: Five classes ( total 148 students ) were randomly selected as experimental group, using PBL method, at the same time another 5 classes ( total 151 students) were also randomly selected as control group, using lecture-based learning ( LBL) mode in 2010 grade. The scores of the experimental group were compared with control at the end of term. ln addition, students and teachers were respectively interviewed using self -administered questionnaire to obtain their evaluation for PBL practice.
RESULTS:The mean scores of PBL group (78. 35±7. 63) were significantly higher than control group (71. 68±6. 37) (P<0. 001). Most of students thought that their ability of referring, synthesizing and analyzing information was enhanced by PBL, and their skills both in written and oral were also improved. PBL made it easier to understand the contexts of course. lt was the best way to improve the effect of teaching in ophthalmology based on the increase of quality in novitiate that gives more chance to students of contacting with practice, developing the ability of clinical thinking and verifying the theory in clinical novitiate. Lots of teachers considered that the classroom atmosphere was more active, students were becoming more and more proactive on their classes and the relationship between students and teachers were more harmonious when PBL was used.
CONCLUSlON:Using PBL teaching mode can highly improve the teaching effectiveness of clinical epidemiology, which is worth popularizing.

A.Conclusion The inhalation of yellow phosphorus and its compounds in rats may induce intoxication of rats with manifestations of ALI/ARDS.Xuebijing injection and decadron have therapeutic effects on such intoxication,then Xuebijing injection combined with both decadron can decrease decadron dosage.

This study is to investigate the effect of ibudilast on apoptosis of airway eosinophil in asthmatic guinea pigs and its mechanism. Experimental asthma model of guinea pigs was induced with ovalbumin (OVA). Differential count in BALF was examined. The apoptosis of eosinophils (EOS) was labeled with TdT-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) technique. Fas mRNA expression of EOS was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The quantification of GM-CSF and IL-5 in BALF was conducted with ELISA. After treatment of ibudilast, the number of EOS and the quantification of GM-CSF and IL-5 decreased significantly. The number of apoptotic cells as well as Fas mRNA expression of EOS obviously increased. The results indicated that anti-asthma mechanisms of ibudilast can antagonize asthma through decreasing the number of EOS, inducing apoptosis of EOS, enhancing Fas mRNA expression of EOS and reducing the content of GM-CSF and IL-5.

A collection of neurons in the upper lumbar spinal cord (lumbar segments 3 and 4) of male rats project to the lower lumbar spinal cord (lumbar segments 5 and 6) and release a gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) to the somatic and autonomic regions, which are known to regulate male sexual reflexes. The GRP plays some special functions when bound to the specific GRP receptor (GRPR). The spinal GRP system is regulated by androgens. Accumulating evidence shows that GRP plays an important role in rat penile erection and ejaculation, and pharmacological stimulation of GRPRs with a specific agonist can restore penile reflexes and ejaculation in castrated male rats. Therefore, the GRP system appears to be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of erectile dysfunction or ejaculatory dysfunction. The present paper briefly reviews the recent studies on the role of the spinal GRP system in regulating the sexual function of males.

Objective To estimate the impact of the image quality of conebeam CT on the accelerator for the Bowtie filter. Methods This study used the system of conebeam CT on the accelerator,and scaned the phantom of Catphan 500 in the multiplicate scanning conditions with and without the Bowtie filter. The scanning conditions were : voltage :120 kV, 100 kV, 80 kV, electricity:25 mA, 40 mA, 64 mA,time of exposure :40 MHz, collimator: M20, L20, scanning angle :358°. We transmitted the scanning data in the treatment planning systems of Philips Pinnacle 8. 0, and estimated the influence of the image quality.Results With and without the Bowtie filter, all of the images had high geometric precision, and the maximum difference of the nominal and actual distance at the horizontal, vertical and arrowy directions in the transection were 0. 50% and 0. 56% ( t = 0. 44, P ＞ 0. 05 ), 0. 44% and 0. 48% ( t = 1.01, P ＞ 0. 05 ),0. 50% and 0. 56% (t = 1.06,P ＞0. 05 ), respectively. The spatial resolution was 0. 167 cm, immutably.The ununiformity with the Bowtie filter was decreased of 28.0% -76.0% (t=2.53,P＜0. 05)、2.8%-50.0% (t= 3.02,P＜0.01 ) than those without the Bowtie filter, and the contrast-to-noise ratio was increased of 4.0% -41.6% (t=2.70,P＜0.05)、4.0% -50.0% (t=2.14,P＜0.05), using the collimators of M20 and L20, respectively. The Bowtie filter could display clearly the edge of scanning phantom, and improve the CT number of the image edge of phantom. And the linearity of CT number was also improved. Couclusions With the Bowtie filter, the image uniformity, the precision and linearity of CT number and the contrast-to-noise ratio were improved obviously, the edge artifacts were decreased, and the geometric precision and the spacial resolution did not change.
