Journal of Experimental Hematology 2004;12(6):849-851
To observe of alloantibodies of patients with autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA), the alloantibodies masked by autoiantibody were detected by using chloroquine elution test, and the specificity of autoantibody was identified by ether elution test. The results showed that 19 cases out of 38 patients with AIHA were positive detected by indirect antiglobulin test and in 7 cases of them alloantibodies in sera cases were found (1 case of anti-D, 4 cases of anti-E and 2 cases of anti-CE), in 5 cases of them alloantibody were detected carried blood group specificity (3 cases of anti-E, anti-C and anti-c 1 case respectively). In conclusion, detections of alloantibodies by chloroquine elution test and ether elution test were very important for transfusion safety in therapy of patients with AIHA.

OBJECTIVETo study the content variation of furmarid acid and isofraxidin in Sarcandra glabra from 21 different provenances and provide the basis for resource utilization and quality optimization of S. glabra.
METHODHPLC method was developed to determine the contents of furmarid acid and isofraxidin in 330 samples of S. glabra which were collected respectively from 21 different provenances.
RESULTThere were significant differences in the contents of isofraxidin and furmarid acid in S. glabra from different provenances. The contents of isofraxidin and furmarid acid dropped off from low altitude to high altitude, which were also close with longitude and latitude. The content of isofraxidin in S. glabra at central area of natural distribution was the highest. The different parts of the plant had different results, the influence on the contents of the acitive components in stem were more obvious than the leaf.
CONCLUSIONThis simple, accurate and reproducible method could be use to determine the contents of furmarid acid and isofraxidin in S. glabra. The results represented the status of medicines quality and difference of Chinese S. glabra. These agreed with the traditional views that the medicines quality of Sarcandra glabra in Jiangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang was better. These provenances were considered as important areas of medicines breeding and bases building on S. glabra in future.

Objective To investigate the effect of chlorhexidine gluconate in prevention of surgical site infection ( SSI ) . Methods Randomized controlled clinical trial method was used in the study. Comparison was made in the rates of SSI between the experiment group using 2% chlorhexidine gluconate and the control group. Results The rate of SSI in experiment group was significantly lower than that in control group (0.83% vs.5.83%, χ2 =3.23,P =0.035).Differences of hospital stay, total cost, infection in other sites and mortality rate of SSI were not statistically significant between the two groups ( P>0 .05 ) . Conclusion Preoperative head disinfection by chlorhexidine gluconate has remarkable effect in prevention of cerebral surgical site infection.

Objective:To analyze the clinical features and laboratory indicators in patients with solid malignant tumor-associated venous thromboembolism(Ta-VTE),and to study the risk factors for Ta-VTE.Methods:The hospitalized patients with VTE in Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital from January to December 2020 were enrolled, and they were divided into Ta-VTE group and pure VTE group based on the presence or absence of solid malignant tumor. The differences in clinical data and laboratory indicators between the two groups were analyzed, and the indicators with significant differences were included in logistic regression model to analyze the risk factors of Ta-VTE.Results:A total of 288 patients with VTE were included in this study, including 64 cases in Ta-VTE group and 224 cases in pure VTE group, respectively. There were significant differences in the following indexes between the two groups, including the hospitalization time(14.20±15.29 d vs 10.05±6.90 d,t=3.112,P=0.002),pain(35.94%vs 65.18%,x2=17.554,P=0.000),recent surgery(75.00%vs 37.50%,X2=28.196,P=0.000),D-dimer[2.8(0.92,7.55)μg/ml vs 5.69(2.25,13.91)μg/ml,Z=-2.710,P=0.007],PLR[198.59(139.54,312.16)vs 149.76(114.08,233.66),Z=-2.924,P=0.003]and TBIL[10.90(7.63,15.68)μmol/Lvs 12.90(9.33,18.28)μmol/L,Z=-2.066,P=0.039].There was no significant difference in the other indicators(P>0.05).The result of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that elevated PLR(OR=1.003,95%CI:1.000-1.006,P=0.027),recent surgery(OR=4.312,95%CI:2.093-8.885,P=0.000)and prolonged hospitalization(OR=1.037,95%CI:1.002-1.074,P=0.038)were independent risk factors for Ta-VTE.However,pain(OR=0.274,95%CI:0.133-0.564,P=0.000)was a protective factor. Conclusion:Elevated PLR level, recent surgery and prolonged hospital stay are independent risk factors for Ta-VTE patients, and rational use of these indicators is helpful for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of Ta-VTE patients.

OBJECTIVETo explore the techniques of stereotactic combined amygdalohippocampotomy for management of medial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE).
METHODSThe Leksell stereotactic frame was used for all cases, and which almost paralleled the long axis of hippocampus. Stereotactic amygdalohippocampotomy was performed in 23 patients with unilateral medial temporal lobe seizures by using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) localization for target planning, depth electrode for the electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring and radiofrequency techniques for lesion production. All procedures were completed under local anesthesia.
RESULTSPre-lesion spikes or polyspike-waves complex were recorded by a depth electrode in the amygdala and hippocampus region in all patients, and the epileptiform discharges disappeared after the amygdalohippocampotomy. The MRI appearance of the lesion areas after 1 - 2 weeks surgical operation showed that mutiple areas of coagulation necrosis corresponding to the lesion sites were surrounded by zones of edema. Twenty-three patients were followed-up to 8 - 32 months with seizure free 43.48% (10/23), and the general efficiency (seizure reduction >or= 50%) was 91.30% (21/23 cases).
CONCLUSIONSStereotactic combined lesions of unilateral amygdala and hippocampus for minimally invasive treatment of MTLE is safe and effective, and it is worth to spread in clinical application.
