Objective To explore the correlation between the epicaridal adipose tissue (EAT)volume and the SNYTAX score in patients with coronary artery diseases and to evaluate its clinical value.Methods Epicardial fat volume of 102 patients with coronary heart disease in our hospital were measured on dual-source CT angiography images,SNYTAX scores were calculated,and level of blood lipids,blood glucose (Glu),blood pressure,renal functional parameters and body mass index(BMI)were collected.Depending on SNYTAX scores,patients were divided into three groups (mild 0-22,moderate 23-32 and severe>33).The difference of EAT volume between groups and correlation with other indicators were analyzed.With indictors statistical significant in one-factor analysis,multi-ple regression equation was constructed to evaluate the risk factors of coronary artery diseases,particularly correlation between EAT volume and SNYTAX score.Results EAT,TC,TG,HDL,HbALc,GLu and BMI were significant different between three groups. Pearson regression showed that EAT,TC,GLu and BMI were independently risk factor in relation to the value of SNYTAX.Among them,standardized regressive coefficient of the EAT volume was the highest (β=0.52).Conclusion EAT volume is significantly positively correlated with the SNYTAX score in coronary heart disease,which can be as an effective predictor for its severity and prognosis.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of different doses of oxaliplatin on the efficacy and safety and related index-es of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE). METHODS:100 HCC patients were randomly divided into control group (50 cases) and observation group (50 cases). After TACE,control group re-ceived arterial infusion chemotherapy of 40 mg/m2 oxaliplatin,once a day+20 mg Epirubicin hydrochloride for injection,once a day,with little lipiodol. Observation group received arterial infusion chemotherapy of 80 mg/m2 oxaliplatin (the same usage with control group)+Epirubicin hydrochloride for injection(the same dosage with control group),with little lipiodol. Alanine aminotrans-ferase (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),total bilirubin (TBIL),white blood cell count (WBC) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in 2 groups after 3 d treatment were observed,and the total overall survival (OS) and the incidence of adverse reactions were followed-up. RESULTS:Abdominal pain,incidences of nausea and vomiting,ALT,AST and TBIL in observation group were significantly higher than control group,WBC was significantly lower than control group,the differences were statistically sig-nificant (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in fever,hair loss,incidence of peripheral neurotoxicity,OS in 1 year and 3 years,and AFP in 2 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Compared with 40 mg/m2 oxaliplatin,80 mg/m2 can reduce the in-cidence of abdominal pain,nausea,vomiting,but other effects are poor than 40 mg/m2,and it can not prolong the survival time of patients.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy of entecavir combined with intervention in the treatment of liver cancer patients with HBV DNA-negative hepatitis B. METHODS:100 liver cancer patients with HBV DNA-negative hepatitis B were random-ly divided into observation group and control group,50 cases in each group. Control group received intervention,percutaneous punc-ture of femoral artery,then injected Pirarubicin hydrochloride for injection + lipiodol in parent artery until blood stagnation,and also conventional liver protection therapy was conducted;observation group additionally received 1 mg Entecavir tablet,qd,for continuous 6 months. Clinical efficacy,HBV DNA quantification,Child-Pugh score and liver function indexes in 2 groups were compared. RE-SULTS:The total effective rate in observation group was 44.0%,which was significantly higher than control group(26.0%),the dif-ference was statistically significant(P<0.05). There were no significant differences in HBV DNA quantification,Child-Pugh score and liver function indexes between 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment,HBV DNA quantification,Child-Pugh score,fetoprotein,alanine aminotransferase, total bilirubin and aspartate aminotransferase significantly decreased in observation group,the differences were statis-tically significant compared with control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Entecavir combined with intervention can obviously im-prove the clinical efficacy and liver function indexes of liver cancer patients with HBV DNA-negative hepatitis B.

OBJECTIVETo explore the clinical effect of combination of acupressure and magnetic sticker on the quality of life (QOL) including appetite, defecation, and sleep in patients with advanced gastroenteric tumor.

METHODSTotally 147 patients with advanced gastroenteric tumor were assigned to 4 groups according to different treatment methods, i.e., the supportive treatment group (A, 20 cases), the acupressure treatment group (B, 41 cases), the magnetic sticker treatment group (C, 40 cases), and a combination of acupressure and magnetic sticker treatment group (D, 46 cases). They were respectively treated with different methods, supportive treatment for group A, acupressure for group B, magnetic sticker for group C, and a combination of acupressure and magnetic sticker for group D. The scores of food intake, defecation frequency, sleep time, Karnofsky, and QOL were compared before treatment and at day 14 after treatment.

RESULTSAfter treatment, the scores of food intake, defecation frequency, and sleep time were obviously improved in B, C and D groups (P < 0.01). There was statistical difference between group D and group A (P < 0.01). In addition, in comparison with A group, both Karnofsky score and QOL score increased in B, C and D groups (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONThe assisted therapy of the combination of acupressure and magnetic sticker could ameliorate QOL such as the digestive functions and sleep in patients with advanced gastroenteric tumor.

Objective To prepare anti-folic acid (FA) polyclonal antibody and develop a new non-balanced competing chemiluminescence analysis for clinical detection of FA.Methods Established the detection method by added FITC-FA-analogs and FAHRP-antibody in the light emitting plate,which coated with anti-FITC antibody,to form the immune response complex of FITC/antibody-FITC-FA-analogs/FA-antibody-HRP.Then methodology evaluation was performed to evaluate the method performance;and further compared the detecting results with non-FITC system detection system and Electrochemiluminescence system (Roche Elecsys 2010).Results The ELISA results showed that the prepared anti-FA antibodies can recognize serum FA specificly.The methodology evaluation indicated that the linear correlation coefficient of the standard curve was 0.990 0;the analytical sensitivity was 1.21 ng/mL;the range of linear detection was 1.21～ 38.80 ng/mL;The coefficient variability of intra-assay was ＜5 ％,which was better than the results of non-FITC detection system;and the correlation coefficient was 0.908 1 compared with the Elecsys-2010 detection system.Conclusion The established chemiluminescence immunoassay for human serum FA has a good sensitivity and specificity,and suitable for clinical serum FA quantitativedetecting.

Objective To find out the distribution of drinking-tea-borne fluorosis in the six ethnics in Qinghai Province, and to provide basic data for prevention and control of the disease. Methods In 2010, according to the requirement of “The National Surveillance Program of Drinking-Tea-borne Fluorosis”, six ethnics accounted for 99.59% of total population in Qinghai Province were investigated in 28 counties having brick-tea drinking habit. Three townships and a town in each county, two administrative villages(residents’ committee) in each township and town were chosen and 50 adults in each administrative village and residents ’ committee were selected to check skeletal fluorosis, dental fluorosis, urine fluoride and daily drinking amount of tea water. Five to six samples of drinking tea water were determined. Dental fluorosis was examined by Deans method; the fluoride content of brick-tea and urine were determined by fluoride ion selective electrode; the skeletal fluorosis was diagnosed based on “Endemic Osteofluorosis Clinical Indexing Diagnosis Standard”( WS 192-2008 ) . Results A total of 10 335 adults were surveyed, the number of Tibetan, Han, Hui, Mongolian, Tu and Salar ethnics were 4 972, 3 063, 1 196, 634, 235 and 235, respectively. The daily drinking amounts of tea water in Mongolian, Tibetan, Hui, Tu, Han and Salar ethnics were 2.53, 2.19, 1.74, 1.63, 1.22 and 1.07 L, respectively. Daily fluoride intakes in Tibetan, Mongolian, Tu, Hui, Han and Salar ethnics were 3.99, 2.78,2.27, 2.16, 1.78 and 1.28 mg, respectively. The medians of urinary fluoride concentration of the Tibetan, Tu, Hui, Han, Mongolian and Salar ethnics were 1.46, 1.19, 1.12, 0.98, 0.93 and 0.81 mg/L, respectively. The prevalence rates of dental fluorosis of the Hui, Han, Tibetan, Tu, Mongolian and Salar ethnics were 34.53%(413/1 196), 27.07%(829/3 063), 21.60%(1 074/4 972), 20.00%(47/235), 17.98%(114/634) and 6.38%(15/235), respectively. The incidence rates of clinical skeletal fluorosis of the Tibetan, Mongolian, Han, Hui, Tu and Salar ethnics were 13.42%(667/4 972), 11.04%(70/634), 9.31%(285/3 063), 7.61%(91/1 196), 5.53%(13/235) and 4.26%(10/235), respectively. Conclusions The distribution and prevalent status of drinking-tea-borne fluorosis in the six ethnics of Qinghai Province are different. Tibetan and Mongolian ethnics are the key population concerning the prevention and control of the disease.

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of Gecko Swinhonis Gunther freeze-dried powder (GFP) in inducing apoptosis of C6 glioma cells.

METHODSThirty mice were randomly divided into three groups and treated with intraperitoneally injection of cisplatin, orally taken GFP or distilled water respectively. After treatment for 20 days, the serum of mice was collected for treating the C6 glioma cells. The apoptosis state of cells was observed by morphological examination, flow cytometry and TUNEL method, and the cell apoptosis related gene expression of bcl-2 and bax were determined by S-P immunocytochemical assay.

RESULTSThe C6 glioma cell apoptosis induction of GFP contained serum in vitro could be confirmed by morphological examination, flow cytometry analysis and TUNEL method. Comparison between the GFP treated group and the blank control group on intracellular bcl-2 gene expression showed no difference, but bax gene expression was higher in the GFP treated group.

CONCLUSIONGFP contained serum could induce C6 glioma cell apoptosis, its mechanism might be related with the up-regulation of bax gene.

Objective:To investigate the analgesic time-effect characteristics and changes in concentrations of rabbit's hypothalamic 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and noradrenaline (NE) caused by buccal acupuncture in the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) rabbits,and to reveal the analgesic central mechanism of buccal acupuncture,thereby providing a theoretical basis for the treatment of pain by buccal acupuncture.Methods:Forty rabbits were randomly divided into a normal group,a model group,a body acupuncture group,and a buccal acupuncture group,with 10 rabbits in each group.No model was established in the normal group,while equal dose of normal saline was injected at the matched site and time point;rabbits in other groups were subjected to the establishment of RA models using egg protein.From the 27th day of the experiment,rabbits in each group received the designated intervention.Rabbits in the normal group and the model group were fixed for 30 min every day using the same method as those in the other groups.In the acupuncture group,Dubi (ST 35) and Zusanli (ST 36) on bilateral hind limbs were selected.Perpendicular needling (using the needles with 0.25 mm in diameter and 25 mm in length) was performed with twirling manipulation for 15 s at intervals of 5 min.The needles were retained for 30 min and acupuncture was performed once a day.In the buccal acupuncture group,the knee point in the buccal acupuncture and needles with a diameter of 0.25 mm and a length of 15 mm were selected.Oblique needling was performed with twirling manipulation for 15 s at intervals of 5 min.The needles were retained for 30 min and acupuncture was performed once a day.The thermal pain thresholds at the 0,5,15,30,60,120 and 240 min after the 1st and 10th acupuncture therapy were measured with a PL-200 thermal-inducing pain meter.After the 10th acupuncture therapy,rabbit's hypothalamus was removed,and the 5-HT and NE concentrations in the hypothalamus at the peak point of the acupuncture pain threshold curve were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).Results:The analgesic effect was obvious at 5 min after buccal acupuncture started,peaked at 30 min,and decreased to the lowest value at 240 min.Rabbits in the body acupuncture group began to show significant analgesic effect at 15 min,which was peaked at 30 min,and began to decline at 60 min.The pain threshold at 240 min was still higher than that at 0 min.Compared with the model group,the concentrations of hypothalamic 5-HT in the buccal acupuncture group and the body acupuncture group was significantly increased,and the between-group differences were statistically significant (both P＜0.05).The NE/5-HT ratios in hypothalamus in the buccal acupuncture group and the body acupuncture group were significantly lower than the ratio in the model group,and the differences were statistically significant (both P＜0.05);difference in the decrease was statistically significant between the buccal acupuncture group and the body acupuncture group (P＜0.05).Conclusion:The analgesic effect of buccal acupuncture shows an obvious time-dependent curve.It is characterized by rapid onset of pain relief,rapid increase and decline in pain threshold.5-HT and NE levels in rabbit's hypothalamus can be affected by buccal acupuncture,with increased 5-HT concentration and reduced NE/5-HT ratio.

Objective To determine the clinical features,neurophysiological characteristics and cervical magnetic resonance imaging of sensory neumnopathy,and to describe the pathology of skin nerve, sural nerve and spinal dorsal columns.Methods Two patients who died from sensory neuron disease (SND)after infection of digestive tract were discussed including clinical features and ancillary tests which included neurophysiology and pathology of peripheral nerve and spinal dorsal columns.Associated documents are reviewed.Results Early ataxia,widespread sensory symptoms and global loss of deep tendon reflex were the distinctive signs of SND,which was characterized by non-length-dependent abnormalities of sensory nerve action potentials,a hallmark of ganglionopathies.The second patient showed normal cervical magnetic resonance imaging possibly because of short course of disease,while diffuse hyperintensity in the spinal posterior columns of SND was reported.Demyelination of spinal posterior columns and loss of mostly large diameter nerve fibers without regeneration clusters were the main pathological features.Conclusions The distinctive clinical features and neurophysiological characteristics of SND indicate that peripheral sensory nerve fibers are widely damaged.Pathology of spinal posterior columns confirm that central sensory pathway are impaired which allow the localization of the pathologic site to the dorsal root ganglion neurons.Cervical spinal MRI of SND are possibly normal at early phase.

OBJECTIVEThe relationship between the mode of tumor invasion in the tumor-host borderline and the frequency of cervical lymph node metastasis was investigated in squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity.

METHODS200 cases with histologically proven squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity were studied by histological method with HE stained. The mode of invasion in the tumor-host relationship was classified into five grades by Yamamoto's criteria.

RESULTSWith regard to the relationship between the mode of invasion and metastasis, the more invasive the tumor tissue was, the more frequent the metastasis formed (P < 0.001). The frequency of metastasis in grades 1 and 2 was low (0 and 5.9%, respectively), The frequency of metastasis in grades 3 was moderate (14.3%), and that in grades 4c and 4d was highly rapid (63.0% and 82.9%, respectively). Single node metastases were frequent in grade 3 and grade 4c (66.7% and 58.8%, respectively), while plural node metastases were frequent in grade 4d (70.6%, P < 0.05). Moreover, the distribution of metastasized lymph nodes was focused on level 1 (41.2%) or level 1 and 2 (79.4%) in grade 4c and was dispersed from level 1 to 4 in grade 4d (P < 0.05). In the present study, the degree of differentiation did not correlate well with the frequency of metastasis.

CONCLUSIONThese results indicate that the more invasive the tumor cells were to the host, the more frequent the metastasis formed. The different mode of invasion would accompany with different frequency of metastasis, different number and distribution of metastasized lymph nodes.
