Objective To evalute the efficacy and safety of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) therapy and facilitated PCI therapy (thrombolysis plus PCI) for acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods Sixty four patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) were divided randomly into two groups including the facilitated PCI group and the primary PCI group. The patency rate of infarct-related artery (IRA) before intervention, the incidence of bleeding complications and acute ischemic events during hospitalization as well as the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) measured by echocardiography before discharge were compared. The thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) flow grade (TFG), TIMI myocardial perfusion grade (TMPG) and angiographic perfusion score (APS) in all patients were measured before and after PCI and the extent of ST segment elevation resolution was analyzed 90 minutes after reperfusion therapy. The relationship between APS and percentage of complete ST resolution was analysed by linear regression. Results The IRA patency rate and TMPG in the faciliated PCI group were significantly higher than that in the primary PCI group before PCI (P

Objective To review the diagnosis and treatment of children with systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods 13 children of systemic lupus erythematosus with acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura as the first symptom were analyzed retrospectively, who were admitted from Jan 2004 to Jun 2009 in our hospital. Results Thirteen cases were diagnosed as acute immune thrombocytopenie purpura according to clinical manifestations and bone marrow examination results. Hormones and intravenous gamma globulin treatment were ineffective. The immune parameters and other clinical manifestations were monitored. According to the characteristics of blood system change and the response to hormone, other immunosuppressive agents such as cyclosporine A ,mycophenolate mofetil and cyclophosphamide were adminitrated. Thirteen children were diagnosed finally as systemic lupus erythematosus at 2 to 24 months from onset. Other immunosuppressive treatment was effective. Conclusion For children with thrombocytopenia, especially adolescent girls, we should pay attention to dynamic monitoring of anti-nuclear antibodies and other immunological parameters, for fear of the possibility of systemic lupus erythematosus.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of cold or hot properties of traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) on biological effect indexes, and analyze the contribution of variables on cold or hot properties, in order to preliminarily establish the discrimination mode for the biological effects of cold or hot properties.
METHODRats were randomly divided into the blank control group, cold TCM groups (Coptidis Rhizoma, Scutellariae Radix, Phellodendri Cortex, Gardeniae Fructus, Sophorae Flavescentis Radix and Gentianae Radix) and hot TCM groups (Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma, Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, Cinnamomi Cortex and Evodiae Fructus), and orally administered with 10 mL x kg(-1) of corresponding TCM water decoctions for 30 d, twice a day. Altogether 53 biological effect indexes correlated to cold or hot properties of traditional Chinese medicines were founded by searching literatures. The data warehouse were established by using data-mining software Clementine12.0. Data of the blank control group, cold TCM groups (Coptidis Rhizoma, Phellodendri Cortex, Gardeniae Fructus, Sophorae Flavescentis Radix, Gentianae Radix) and hot TCM groups (Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Alpiniae Officinarum Rhizoma, Zanthoxyli Pericarpium, Cinnamomi Cortex) were selected into a training set. C5.0 algorithm and C&R classification and regression algorithm were adopted to define the importance of variable, create the decision trees, and test hot or cold properties of Evodiae Fructus and Scutellariae Radix.
RESULTAccording to C&R classification and regression algorithm, SDH activity of livers was the most important hot or cold property, with the significance closed to 30%. It was followed by triglyceride, liver Na' -K' -ATPase enzyme, muscle glycogen and platelet distribution width, with the accuracy up to 97.39% in models. C5.0 algorithm showed that liver SDH activity was the most important hot or cold property, with the significance closed to 40%. It was followed by triglyceride, GOT, muscle glycogen and liver Na(+)-K(+)-ATPase enzyme, with the accuracy up to 98.26% in models. The possibilities that Evodiae Fructus is in hot property and Scutellariae Radix is in cold property were 100. 00% and 77.78% by using both C&R classification and regression algorithm and C5.0 algorithm.
CONCLUSIONThe SDH activity of liver is the most important biological effect index to distinguish cold and hot properties of TCMs. The discrimination pathway or mode of cold and hot properties is closely related to energy metabolism.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the efficacy and safety of three different spinal rotation manipulations for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation.
METHODSFrom September 2011 to April 2013,180 patients diagnosed as lumbar disc herniation were randomly divided into seat fixed rotation group (A), lateral position rotation group (B) and supine position rotation group (C) by using a digital table. Finally 10 patients were excluded and dropped, 170 patients were included in the study. There were 57 patients in group A, 57 patients in group B and 56 patients in group C. Baseline demographic characteristics of patients, clinical findings and indexes of health status had no statistically differences among three groups (P > 0.05). The manipulation was performed every other day, and the treatment duration for all patients was 3 weeks. Body pain (BP), Physical function (PF) in SF-36, Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and adverse reactions were observed statistically 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, one year and two years after finishing treatment.
RESULTSBP, PF scores in 3 groups were significantly improved and ODI scores were significantly lower than those before treatment and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05); However, there was no significant difference among three groups in the BP, PF and ODI scores (P > 0.05). There were no obvious and serious adverse reactions among these groups.
CONCLUSIONBased on the theory of dislocation of bone joints in TCM, three kinds of spinal rotation manipulations can be used safely for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation, and the efficacy was similar.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of IL-18 and IL-18BP balance in aplastic anemia (AA).
METHODSA total of 29 AA patients and 22 controls were recruited in present research. The expressions of IL-18 and IL-18BP were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The mRNA expressions of IL-18 and IL-18BP were measured in all subjects using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
RESULTSThe levels of the IL-18 in plasma of AA and normals were (365.5 ± 160.6) pg/ml and (175.9 ± 92.8) pg/ml (P < 0.01); and the expression of IL-18 in severe AA patients (441.3 ± 116.9) pg/ml were higher than that in non-severe AA patients (326.4 ± 167.0) pg/ml (P < 0.05). The level of IL-18BP was increased in plasma of AA (1788.6 ± 523.8) pg/ml than in normals (1083.6 ± 489.6) pg/ml (P < 0.05). But the ratio of IL-18/IL-18BP in AA patients was much higher than that in controls (P < 0.05). RT-PCR revealed the levels of IL-18 and IL-18BP mRNA were up-regulated in AA patients when compared to controls, but the ratio of IL-18/IL-18BP was significantly elevated in AA patients.
CONCLUSIONIL-18/IL-18BP imbalance may play an important role in pathogenesis of AA and regulating the balance of IL-18 and IL-18BP may be a therapeutic approach to AA.
