The management of national defence science and technology reports was described from their compila-tion, submission, review, communication and use, taking The Scientific Research and Training Center of China Astronauts as an example. The problems in the management of national defence science and technology reports were pointed out, with measures and suggestions put forward for strengthening their management.

Objective To study activation effect of a natural compound baicalein on cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator(CFTR) chloride channel.Methods A cell-based fluorescence assay was used to determine CFTR-mediate iodide influx rate/dt(mmol?L-1?s-1)] activated by baicalein(the concentrations were 0.18,0.55,1.65,5,15,44,133 and 400 ?mol?L-1).Results The Ka of flavonoid baicalein stimulating CFTR was about 16 ?mol?L-1.The half of maximal activity was reached in ten minutes and the activation disappeared in 20 min after baicalein was washed out.The activation of baicalein was not affected obviously under different concentrations of Forsklin(0,20,50 and 100 nmol?L-1)and the activation could be totally inhibited by CFTRinh-172.Conclusion Baicalein can stimulate CFTR-mediated iodide influx in a dose-dependent way and its activity manifests a rapid and reversible characteristic.It might work in both elevating CFTR protein phosphorylation and direct binding way.

AIM:To analyze curative effect of laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy (DR).METHODS:A total of 100 patients (136 eyes) with DR who were admitted to our hospital during January 2015 to December 2016 were enrolled in the study.All patients were given 532nm laser treatment.Changes of visual acuity and the incidence of complications were statistically analyzed after treatment, and the macula central fovea retinal thickness and hemodynamic changes of affected eyes were compared before and after treatment.The effects of laser treatment were compared among patients with different types of diabetes, patients in different DR stages and patients with different glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) levels.RESULTS:After treatment, the macula central fovea retinal thickness, end diastolic velocity (EDV), pulsatility index (PI) and central retinal artery (CRA), mean flow velocity (Vm) significantly decreased (P<0.05).After treatment, there were 2 cases (2 eyes) of bleeding and 2 cases (2 eyes) of tractional retinal detachment.The effective improvement rate of visual acuity was 83.1%.There were significant differences in the improvement rate of visual acuity among patients with different types of diabetes [type 1 (60.0%) vs type 2 (84.9%)], patients in different DR stages [preproliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) 92.3%, early proliferative stage (PDR) 85.1%, high-risk PDR 54.2%] and patients with different HbAlc levels (< 8% 91.8% vs ≥8% 73.0%) (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The 532nm laser treatment is effective for DR.It can significantly improve the retinal hemodynamics and visual acuity and relieve macular edema.Types of diabetes mellitus, stages of DR and blood glucose control effect may affect the effects of laser treatment.

To establish the local quality standard for Dendrobii devoniani caulis from Longling, Yunnan, the pharmacognostic characteristics microscopic characteristics and TLC identification were developed. Sulfuric acid-phenol method was used to determine the content of polysaccharide. An HPLC method was adopted to determine the content of mannose, and extractives were determined according to the procedures recorded in the Appendix of Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2010). The results showed a strong characteristics microscopic of Dendrobii devoniani caulis, and its TLC identification had a good resolution with clear spots; the content of polysaccharide is 35.7% -52.1% (average 42.7%), mannose 27.8%-46.1% (average 35.8%), and extract 4.5%-10.6% (average 7.38%). The method is simple, accurate and reliable, with good reproducibility. The established standard is acceptable for quality evaluation of Dendrobii devoniani caulis from Longling, Yunnan.

Objective To analyze the changes of the intima-media thickness(IMT)of carotid and femoral arteries, serum advanced glycosylation end-products(AGEs),and AGEs soluble receptor(sRAGE)after intensively controlling blood glucose, blood pressure, and lipid. Methods One hundred and thirty-two type 2 diabetic patients were divided into 3 groups and followed for 5 years: 20 patients were treated with intensive control of blood glucose and blood pressure, 80 patients with intensive control of blood glucose, blood pressure, and lipid; and 32 patients with conventional therapy. AGEs, sRAGE, and IMT of carotid and femoral arteries were measured and compared among different groups. Results The IMT of carotid and femoral arteries and serum level of AGEs were significantly decreased after intensive treatment. The ratio of sRAGE and HbA1C(sRAGE/HbA1C)were negatively correlated with the mean of HbA1Cin the past five years(r=-0.417, P＜0.001)and the fluctuation of HbA1C(r=-0.309,P＜0.001). Multinomial regression analysis showed that AGEs were the important risk factors of IMT of femoral artery(β=0.152,P=0.068). Conclusion Intensive treatment is significant in controlling the growing IMT of carotid and femoral arteries, while decreasing serum level of AGEs.

Objective To investigate the correlations between quantitative parameters of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS) and histopathological stage of liver fibrosis.Methods Sixty cases of hepatic fibrosis diagnosed pathologically were examined with CEUS.The dynamic images of CEUS were analyzed off-line with a quantitative software.Region of interest (ROI) were drawn separately in hepatic artery(HA),liver parenchyma(PA),main portal vein(PV) and right hepatic vein(HV).The time intensity curve(TIC) and some quantitative parameters,including arrival time,increased signal intensity(ISI),peak intensity(PI) and area under curve(AUC) were acquired.Intrahepatic transit time of contrast agents were calculated as the arrival time difference between hepatic artery(HA) and HV(HA-HVTT),between PV and HV(PV-HVTT) and between PA and HV (PA-HVTT).All the parameters were compared with histopathologic stage.Results All cases were grouped into mild fibrosis (S0 and S1,25 cases),moderate fibrosis (S2 and S3,17 cases) and severe fibrosis (S4,18 cases) according pathologic stage.HA-HVTT,PV-HVTT and PA-HVTT decreased with the development of liver fibrosis.The parameters of ISI,PI and AUC obtained from TIC of portal vein reduced with the progression of fibrosis,too(P＜0.05).Receive operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis showed that the area under curve of HA-HVTT,PV-HVTT and PA-HVTT were 0.808,0.848,and 0.823 (S＞S1),and 0.856,0.903,and 0.806 (S＞S3),respectively.Conclusions Quantitative parameters of CEUS reflect the stage of liver fibrosis mediately.The parameters of HA-HVTT,PV-HVTT and PA-HVTT are closely correlated with the stage of liver fibrosis.

OBJECTIVETo study the effect of nano-SiO2 on spatial learning and memory.

METHODSTwenty-four male rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group (C group), low dose group (L group) and high dose group (H group). The rats were intragastrically administrated with nanometer particles at 25 and 100 mg/kg body weight every day for 4 weeks. After exposure, the ability of learning and memory of rats was tested by Morris water maze, and electrophysiological brain stereotactic method was used to test long-tear potentiation (LTP) in dentate gyrus (DG) of the rats.

RESULTSThe increase rate of body weight in H group was reduced significantly compared with C group ( P < 0.05). In the space exploration experiment of Morris water maze test, the escape latency of H group was longer than that of C group (P < 0.05). The rats of H group spent less time in finding the target quadrant (P < 0.05) . The rate of LP induction of H group was significantly lower than that of C group (P < 0.05). After high fre quency stimulation (HFS), The changes of amplitude of population spike (PS) of L group and H group were lower than those of C group significantly (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONNano-SiO₂may result in impairment of spatial learning and memory ability by reducing the rate of LTP induction and the increase of PS in hippocampus.

Objective To study the expression level and related prognostic significance of protein NEDD9,Ki67,P53 in gastric carcinoma. Methods A total of 30 normal stomach tissues were used as control group. The expression level of NEDD9,P53,Ki67 in early gastric carcinoma of 54 cases and advanced gastric car-cinoma in 51 cases were detected by immunohistochemistry ,respectively. Results (1) The expression level of protein NEDD9,P53,Ki67 in normal stomach tissues,early gastric carcinoma and advanced gastric carcinoma were increased(P<0.05).(2)The expression level NEDD9 protein in gastric carcinoma was associated with the depth of invasion and the degree of differentiation(P < 0.05). The expression of protein Ki67 was associated with clinical staging and the depth of invasion(P<0.05). The expression of protein P53 was associated with degree of differentiation,the depth of invasion,lymph node metastasis and clinical staging(P<0.05).(3)NEDD9 protein expression has a positive correlation with Ki67. The difference has statistical significance(r = 0.216,P = 0.027). Conclusions The expression level of protein NEDD9 ,Ki67 ,P53 increased in normal stomach tissues ,early gastric carcinoma and advanced gastric carcinoma. The expression level were significantly higher in early gastric carcinoma. Combined detection of NEDD9 ,P53 ,Ki67facilitatesearlydiagnosis and malignant degree of gastric carcinoma.
