Objective To study the effect of sodium hyaluronate(SH) on cornea preservation to provide a basis for eyes banks cornea preservation. Methods SH was applied in the short-term and middle-term cornea preservation. This paper was aimed to study the influence ofBu-Shen Hua-TanFang (BSHTF) on the learning and memory function of diabetes mellitus (DM) rats. A total of 50 3-month-old male Wistar rats were randomlydivided into the control group, model group and 3 BSHTF groups (i.e., high-, middle-, and low-dose). A total of 35 mg·kg-1 streptozotocin (STZ) was intraperitoneally injected into the model and BSHT group. The same volume of citric acid-sodium citrate buffer solution was intraperitoneally injected into the control group. The intragastric administration of BSHTF at the dose of 20, 10, and 5 g·kg-1 was given to the BSHTF groups, respectively. The behavior and content of serum 3-deoxyglucosone (3-DG) were detected among DM rats after 30 days. The results showed that the levels of serum glucose in the model group and the BSHTF groups were obviously higher than that of the control group (P < 0.01). The swimming time to platform of rats in the model group was obviously prolonged compared to the control group with significant difference from the second day on (P < 0.01). The required time in different BSHTF intervention groups was obviously decreased compared with the model group from the 4th day (P< 0.05). The level of serum 3-DG in rats of the model group was obviously higher than that of the control group (P < 0.01). The level of serum 3-DG in rats of the middle-dose BSHTF group was obviously decreased compared with the model group (P < 0.05). It was concluded that BSHTF was able to improve the cognitive impairment among DM rats by reducing the levels of serum glucose and serum 3-DG.

Recently,increasing cancer researches focus on antibody-drug conjugates(ADCs) which can improve the anti-tumor potency with less adverse effect while benefiting patients in the future. However,safety evaluation of ADCs is a big challenge because of complex components as well as in experience in preclinical studies. In this review,the authors reviewed the mode of action,hazard risks,and toxicity observed in preclinical/clinical studies of ADCs,summarized the preclinical studies of Adcetris(brentuximab vedotin)and Kadcyla(ado-trastuzumab emtansine),and suggested a better strategy of ADCs in preclinical safety evaluation.

OBJECTIVE: To study pharmacokinetics of valaciclovir hydrochloride tablets and to evaluate the bioequivalence of test and reference tablets. METHODS: In a two-period cross-over design test, 18 healthy volunteers were given a single oral dose of 600 mg test valaciclovir hydrochloride and 600 mg reference formulations respectively. Plasma concentrations of acyclovir were determined by HPLC method. The pharmacokinetic parameters of the two formulations were calculated and analyzed statistically. RESULTS: The main pharmacokinetic parameters of test vs. reference valacyclovir hydrochloride tablets were as follows:tmax(1.69?0.25)h vs. (1.72?0.26)h, Cmax(3.34?0.58) ?g?mL-1 vs. (3.40?0.49)?g?mL-1, t1/2(2.73?0.31)h vs. (2.97?0.33)h, AUC0～14(11.22?2.21) ?g?h?mL-1 vs. (11.12?1.90)?g?h?mL-1, AUC0～∞(11.76?2.15) ?g?h?mL-1 vs. (11.61?1.86)?g?h?mL-1, respectively. As compared with reference formulation, the relative bioavailability of test formulation was (101.06?11.72)%. CONCLUSION: The two preparations are bioequivalent.

Objective To investigate the effect of resveratrol on autophagic flux of nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE-2 cells, and to explore the underlying mechanism. Methods Nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE-2 cells were divided into control group and resveratrol group. Cells in control group were normally cultured at 37℃and received no further treatment. Resveratrol group was added 40 μmol/L resveratrol 2 h before cells were culture at 37 ℃. Western blot analysis was performed to detect protein expressions of LC3B, p62, Beclin-1, phospho-mTOR (p-mTOR) and phospho-S6 (p-S6). The autophagic flux was detected under the confocal laser scanning microscopy through different color spots, after cells were transfected with adenovirus encoding GFP-mRFP-LC3. Results (1) The protein expression of LC3B was significantly increased and the protein expression of p62 was significantly decreased in resveratrol group compared with those of control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Beclin-1 expression between two groups. (2) Compared to control group, expressions of p-mTOR and p-S6 were significantly decreased in resveratrol group (P<0.05). (3) Compared to control group, the red mRFP puncta were significantly increased, and the yellow GFP puncta were significantly decreased in resveratrol group (P<0.05). Conclusion Resveratrol promotes the autophagic flux of nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE-2 cells, and the effects are possibly dependent on the activation of mTOR pathway-related proteins.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically review the efficacy and safety of lamivudine(LAM)combined with adefovir dipiv-oxil (ADV) versus entecavir (ETV)alone in the treatment of decompensated HBV-associated cirrhosis. METHODS:Retrieved from PubMed,Cochrane Library,CBM,CNKI,VIP and WangFang Database, randomized controlled trails (RCT) about LAM combined with ADV(combination group)versus ETV(control group)in the treatment of decompensated HBV-associated cirrhosis were collected. Meta-analysis was performed by using Stata 11.0 software after data extraction and quality evaluation. RESULTS:Totally 13 RCTs were included,involving 972 patients. Results of Meta-analysis showed,there were no significant differences in the serum alanine transaminase (ALT)[SMD=0.079,95%CI(-0.086,0.244),P=0.348],total bilirubin (TBIL) [SMD=0.056, 95%CI(-0.118,0.230),P=0.529],ALB[SMD=-0.020,95%CI(-0.494,0.454),P=0.935],HBV-DNA negative conversion rate [RR=1.012,95%CI(0.950,1.079),P=0.710],HBV e antigen(HBeAg)seroconversion rate [RR=1.181,95%CI(0.969,1.439), P=0.099],HBeAg negative conversion rate [RR=1.011,95%CI(0.860,1.189),P=0.893],follow-up 96 week liver function Child-Turcotte-Pugh score [SMD=-0.063,95%CI(-0.299,0.173),P=0.601],virological breakthrough rate [RR=1.562,95%CI (0.471,5.178),P=0.466],mortality rate [RR=1.198,95%CI(0.624,2.300),P=0.587] and the incidence of adverse reactions [RR=1.552,95%CI(0.618,3.900),P=0.349]in 2 groups;follow-up 48 week liver function CTP score in combination group was significantly higher than control group,the difference was statistically significant [SMD=0.352,95%CI(0.031,0.672),P=0.031]. CONCLUSIONS:LAM combined with ADV shows similar efficacy and safety to ETV in the treatment of decompensated HBV-as-sociated cirrhosis,but within short term(48 weeks),ETV is more likely to inhibit the development of liver fibrosis of the chronic HBV patients,and even can reverse liver fibrosis and cirrhosis.

Objective: To find out the attitudes of university students and postgraduates to donating corneas after their death in Chongqing. Method: In order to find out the attitudes to the donation of corneas and remains after their death, the understanding degree of the knowledge on donation and the actual participation, cue formulated 10 questions including 3-4 selective answers each one to have a questionnaire investigation among university students and postgraduates of three universities in Chongqing. Result: In 311 questionnaires, 288 of them are valid. 53.82 % of students investigated are willing to donate their corneas and 77.08% of them support the donation, but the majority don't want to go through the formalities of donation and don't know how to deal with this; nearly 2/3 of them don't know an eye bank has been set up in Chongqing; 77% of them agrees to legislate or make the local regulations as soon as possible. Conclusion: There are quite a number of volunteers in the university students, but the number of the actual participants is small. Therefore we need to strengthen the propaganda of the eye bank to impel more students to comprehend the knowledge of donation and join the volunteers.
