Objective To investigate the intervention effects of Jiawei Ditan Decoction on oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction in elderly patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).Methods A total of 60 OSAHS patients with deficiency of phlegm and blood stasis mutual junction were enrolled,and randomly divided into treatment group (n=30,receiving JiaweiDitan Decoction+ conventional treatment for 12 weeks) and control group (n=30,receiving conventional treatment for 12 weeks).The clinical symptoms integral,Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS),apnea hypopnea index (AHI),minimum oxygen saturation (SaO2),superoxide dismutase (SOD),malondialdehyde (MDA),tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α interleukin (IL)-6,and C-reactive protein (CRP) were observed before and after treatment.Results The clinical symptoms integral,AHI value,minimum SaO2,ESS score,levels of SOD,MDA,TNF-α,IL-6 and CRP were significantly improved in treatment group after treatment as compared with pretreatment [(11.65 ± 3.82) points vs.(14.32±4.25) points,(21.18 ± 12.37) times/h vs.(29.16 ± 13.58) times/h,(83.24±7.42)％ vs.(76.92±11.91)％,(7.12±4.84)points vs.(10.01±4.16) points,(99.24± 13.15)×103 U/L vs.(87.511±14.82) ×103 U/L,(8.56 ± 3.23) μmol/L vs.(11.25±3.41) μmol/L,(50.63±10.57) ng/L vs.(58.92±11.65) ng/L,(78.12±15.92) ng/L vs.(89.13± 16.54) ng/L,(9.93±5.25) mg/L vs.(13.59±4.92) mg/L,t=2.559,2.379,2.467,2.480,3.243,3.137,2.887,2.651,2.786,respectively,all P＜0.05].All the above indicators after treatment had significant differences between the treatment group and the control group [(11.65 ± 3.82) points vs.(13.89±4.45) points,(21.18± 12.37) times/h vs.(28.03± 13.12) times/h,(83.24±7.42)％ vs.(78.26±10.15)％,(7.12±4.84) points vs.(9.56±7.12) points,(99.24± 13.15)×103 U/Lvs.(90.13±13.56)×103 U/L,(8.56±3.23) μmol/L vs.(10.86±3.65)μmol/ L,(50.63±10.57) ng/L vs.(56.52±11.04) ng/L,(78.12±15.92) ng/L vs.(87.81±15.61) ng/ L,(9.93±5.25) mg/L vs.(12.97±5.03) mg/L,t=2.092,2.018,2.169,2.009,2.642,2.585,2.111,2.380,2.290,respectively,all P＜0.05].Conclusions Jiawei Ditan Decoction could improve the clinical symptoms and has the intervention effect on oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction in elderly patients with OSAHS,which provides the experimental basis for the treatment of senile OSASH with Chinese herbal medicine.

Robotic system helps surgeons in performing surgery. Currently Da Vinci system is the most popular. Da Vinci system has been used for the stomach and bowel diseases in 27 cases(18 cases of stomach and 9 cases of colon and rectum) in the Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. Accurate preoperative staging is crucial, and Da Vinci system is advantageous in lymph node dissection, preservation of nerve plexus, and complete resection of mesorectum. Adoption of gastrointestinal tract reconstruction technique should depend on the operation and experience in surgery. Though Da Vinci system has limitations and the cost is high, it is believed to be the future trend.

Chemical investigation was carried out to study the alkaloids from stems of Nelumbo nucifera and their cytotoxic activities. The constituents were separated by column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data analyses. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities by MTr method. Fifteen compounds were isolated from the total alkaloids extract and identified as asimilobine (1), isococlaurine (2), N-acetylnorarmepavine (3), crykonisine (4), velucryptine (5), pycnarrhine (6), liriodenine (7), nuciferine (8), nornuciferine (9), armepavine (10), N-methylasimilobine (11), coclaurine (12), N-norarmepavine (13), N-methylcoclaurine (14) and lysicamine (15). Compounds 1-7 and 12-15 were isolated from stems of this plant for the first time, and compounds 2-6 were firstly isolated from the family Nelumbonaceae. Compounds 7-10, 13 and 14 showed significant cytotoxic activities against HL-60 carcinoma cell line with inhibitory ratios of 51.36%, 59.09%, 52.51%, 53.93%, 51.43%, and 64.31% at concentration of 1 x 10(-5) mol x L(-1), respectively.

Objective To enrich pancreatic cancer stem cells through culturing mammospheres, and to detect the expressions of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) and a disintegrin and metalloprotease 9 (ADAM9) and investigate their significance. Methods PANC1 cells were cultured in serum-free conditioned medium to continuously generate mammospheres, and parts of mammospheres were cultured on a collagen substratum to induce differentiation. Mammospheres cells and differentiated cells were collected, flow cytometry was used to detect the proportion of side population (SP) cells, and the expressions of EGFR, ADAM9 mRNA and protein were detected by real-time PCR and Western blotting. Results PANC1 cells mammospheres were successfully generated and could be passed continuously. After differentiation, mammospheres cells could regain the ability of adherent growth. The proportion SP cells in mammospheres cells and differentiated cells were ( 5.40 ± 0.38 ) % and (2.80 ± 0.42 ) %, and the difference was statistically significant ( P ＜ 0. 05 ).Compared with differentiated cells, the expression of EGFR and ADAM9 mRNA of mammospheres cells upregulated 2.5 and 3.0 folds ( P ＜ 0. 05 ). The expressions of EGFR and ADAM9 protein of mammospheres cells were 0.90 ± 0. 09 and 0.64 ± 0.07, which were significantly higher than those in differentiated cells (0.62 ±0.11 and 0.48 ±0.09, P ＜0.05). Conclusions Mammosphere cells contained higher proportion of pancreatic cancer stem cells. ADAM 9 may play an important role in the occurrence and development of pancreatic cancer through the EGFR signaling pathway.

Aim To establish a model of the vascular endothelial cell (VEC) injury in SDrats.Methods SD rats were randomly divided into the control and the modelgroups. AIM:To observe the structural basis of ocular motility abnormalities in patients with congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles type Ⅰ ( CFEOM Ⅰ) due to missense mutations in the developmental kinesin KIF21A using high - resolution magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI) .
METHODS: Totally 11 affected individuals reported KIF21A mutations were correlated with MRI studies demonstrating extraocular muscles ( EOMs ) size, location, contractility, and innervation. EOMs and the motor nerve in the orbits were imaged with T1 weighted in a triplanar scan using a dual-phased coils with 2. 0mm thick. Motor nerves were imaged at the brainstem using head coils and 3D-FIESTA with 0. 6-mm thick.
RESULTS: Patients with CFEOM Ⅰ exhibited different degrees of hypoplasia of oculomotor nerve, the abducens nerve and the trochlear nerve were also affected, of which 8 cases of orbital section could see the signal of abnormal nerve dominated by oculomotor nerve to lateral rectus. The both sides of six EOMS in all patients exhibited variable atrophy and abnormal bright internal signal on T1 imaging, particularly severe for the superior rectus and levator muscles.
CONCLUSION: High - resolution MRI can directly demonstrate pathology of motor nerves,affected EOMs, and ‘Pulley' hypoplasia caused by CFEOM Ⅰ due to mutations in KIF21A,and these findings suggest that the neuronal hypoplasia is the etiological factor of CFEOM.

Objective:To investigate the effects of corticotomy assisted orthodontic treatment for mild skeletal Class Ⅱ malocclusion. Methods:7 adult patients with mild skeletal Class Ⅱ division 1 malocclusion were included and underwent corticotomy assisted ortho-dontic treatments.3D measurements and analysis of CBCT data before and after treatment were conducted.Results:The average dura-tion of upper anterior teeth retraction was 3.2 months.After treatment,obvious retraction of up incisiors with the retraction of maxillary alveolar bone and the upper lip backward and downward movement were observed.Conclusion:Corticotomy assisted orthodontic treat-ment is effective in the treatment of mild skeletal Class Ⅱ malocclusion by the retraction of uper anterior teeth,alveolarar bone and soft-tissue profile improvement.

Objective To compare the three kinds of methods for in vitro primary culturing of rheumatoid arthritis synovial fibroblast-like cells (RASFs), in order to get fast and effective culture methods. Methods Synovial tissue from RA synovial arthroscopic resection were treated by collagenase digestion method, modified tissue culture method, double enzyme digestion method respectively. By using an inverted phase contrast microscope, cell morphology and growth characteristics were observed and identified with vimentin staining. Trypan blue was used to count the number of living cells after culturing for 14d. Results The three primary methods could successfully isolate and culture RASFs, and RASFs met the morphological characteristics of vimentin-positive cells>95%, namely, the proportion of RASFs cell confluence was 70% after 16-20days by the collagenase digestion method,whose cell confluence proportion reached 95%after 4 weeks;and the cell confluence proportion was above 70%after 10-14days by modified tissue culture method,and the cell confluence proportion reached 85%after 4 weeks by the double enzyme digestion method. The comparison of the viable cells number cultured same number of synovial tissue by the three methods show the viable cells number cultured by the modified tissue culture method were (1.60±0.08) ×106, those by the collagenase digestion method were (1.41±0.08) ×106, those by the double enzyme digestion method were (1.19 ±0.05) ×106, which were with significant difference among them (P<0.05) .The comparison of incubation time of RASFs primary cells showed it took (267.50±16.58) mins by the collagenase digestion method, (183.75 ±11.08) mins by the double enzyme digestion method, and 149.10 ±13.71mins by the modified tissue culture method, with significant differences (P<0.05) .Conclusion Modified tissue culture for RASFs is an efficient and fast culture method, the number and purity of RASFs can meet the requirements for biology experiments.
