Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(04):-
Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF ?) is a pro inflammatory cytokine produced primarily by mononuclear phagocytes in blood and different tissues. Current data indicate that adult myocytes can also produce TNF ? in the course of various heart diseases, such as congestive heart failure, myocarditis, ischemic heart disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, and septic cardiomyopathy. Elevated TNF ? is considered to be contributive to the pathophysiology of these diseases. Methods concerning anti TNF ? therapy and their clinical application are the on going investigations.

This paper summarizes nursing care of a patient with wound infection following systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) accompanied by herpes zoster. Aimed at the patient's characteristics of long-term disease course of SLE,weak immune system caused by long-term use of glucocorticoid and immunosuppressant, big wound area with severe infection, and hard healing, moist therapy was implemented under the theoretical guidance of moist healing environment. The Purilon Gel and Biatain-Ag Foam dressing were applied in the wound combined with systemic use of antibiotics and treatment of SLE. At the same time, psychological nursing and health education were provided for the patient. These measures speeded up the wound healing.

Objective To investigate the effect of pigment epithelium- derived factor (PEDF) on p38MAPK-CREB pathway and the expression of fibronectin (FN) in human mesangial cells (HMCs) cultured with high glucose. Methods HMCs were treated with different concentrations of glucose and the osmotic control respectively in the presence or absence of PEDF for 24 h:normal glucose (5.6 mmol/L),24.4 mmol/L mannitol, high glucose (30 mmol/L),high glucose+PEDF(30 mmol/L glucose with 10 nmol/L PEDF,40 nmol/L PEDF or 100 nmol/L PEDF).After samples were collected, the expression of phospho-p38MAPK (p-p38) and p-CREB was assessed by Western blotting, while FN mRNA and protein expression was assessed with RT-PCR and ELISA respectively. Results In contrast to normal glucose and mannitol treatments, the expression of p-p38MAPK,p-CREB and FN increased significantly in high glucose group (all P< 0.01).However,PEDF abolished the up-regulation of p-p38MAPK,p-CREB and FN induced by high glucose (all P<0.05). Conclusion PEDF may inhibit fibrosis through P38MAPK-CREB pathway in diabetic nephropathy.

Chinese Journal of Nephrology 1997;0(01):-
Objective To study the expression of apolipoprotein H (ApoH) in childhood primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS) and to discuss its role in PNS. Methods Immunohistochemistry staining and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) were performed to evaluate the expression of ApoH in renal tissues of 78 patients with PNS and 14 cases of normal controls. Serum albumin, serum lipid, proteinuria and urinary retinol binding protein (RBP) were tested before renal biopsy in all patients. Tubulointerstitial lesions were investigated. Results (l)There was positive expression of ApoH in renal tissues of PNS patients and normal controls, mainly in the proximal tubules by immunohistochemistry staining. ApoH mRNA was also shown in all renal tissues by RT-PCR. ApoH protein expression was positively correlaed with its mRNA expression(r=0.264, P 0.05) whereas these data displayed no significant difference between two groups. Above expression in mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (MsPGN) and focal segmental glomersclerosis (FSGS) down-regulated significantly (3.30?0.28,2.82?0.36, and 10.13?3.09,10.12?1.02, respectively), as compared to those in MCNS,MN and the controls, P

Objective To observe the expression and distribution of angiopoietin-like protein 3(ANGPTL3) in kidney of adriamycin(ADR)-induced nephrotic rats, and to explore the possible association of ANGPTL3 with the development of proteinuria and hyperlipidemia. Methods Adriamycininduced nephrotic rat models were established by a single injection of adriamycin via the tail vein. Immunohistochemical staining (IHS)and dot-ELISA were used to examine the expression and distribution of ANGPTL3 in kidney and the level of ANGPTL3 in serum of ADR rats at day 7,14, 21 and 28 after adriamycin injection. Results (1) In ADR rats, urinary protein and the level of triglyceride and cholesterol in serum increased significantly at day 14 (P

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1986;0(01):-
Objective To evaluate the correlation of the depths of detecting arteries vessel in transcranial dopplor(TCD) and child head circumference. Methods Five hundreds and eighty-eight health children were selected at random for the study. TCD ultrasonography was used to detect the optimal depths of arteries, middle and anterior and posterior cerebral arteries for each child, together with the head circumference. Results The data showed that the depths of detecting cerebral arteries significantly changed in different age groups, probably due to the growth of the head circumference. Conclusion There was close relationship between the depths of detecting cerebral arteries and child head circumference, which is of clinical significance.

Objective To further investigate the pathohistology of chronic gastritis in children and the relationship between helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection and mucosal chronic inflammatory. Methods Gastric antrum biopsies were carried out from children who had chronic gastritis confirmed by gastroendoscopy during the past 3 years in our hospital. The results of pathohistological observation were analyzed by retrospectire method. Results One thousand six hundred cases of chronic gastritis were included,in which 1007 cases without Hp infection,593 with Hp infection.Among the patients without Hp infection, mild inflammatory were much more than mode-(rate) or severe inflammatory(86% vs 14%).Although,in patients with Hp infection, mild inflammatory were the most common presentation(63%),moderate and severe inflammatory were more predominant in patients with Hp infection. The degree of inflammatory was increased with the quantity of Hp infection. The ratio of lymphocytes, neutrophils and lymphoid follicles in gastric mucosa was much higher in Hp positive group than negative one(94%,40%,22% vs 60%,11%,5%,respectively),and the difference was significant in statistic analysis.Gastric mucosal atrophy was found more in Hp positive group(16.5%) than negative one(7%).The proportion of intestinal metaplasia in cases with Hp infection was 1.5% compared with 0.1% in these children. Conclusion The study shows that there is a close relationship between Hp and antrun chronic inflammation and mucosal atrophy.

Objective To study the adsorption and separation of licorice flavonoid with macroporous resins. Methods Eight types of macroporous resin were selected to compare their performances in absorbing and desorbing licorice flavonoid. The optimal type for licorice flavonoid was decided, meanwhile, its kinetic curve and dynamic absorbing behavior were studied. Results HPD300 resin possessed higher adsorption and desorption capacity. The appropriate adsorption and desorption conditions were as follows:concentration of sample was 2.0 mg/mL, velocity of sample solution was 1.5 BV/h, volume of sample solution was 2 BV (bed volume);velocity of 80%ethanol was taken as eluant 1.5 BV/h, and the volume was 3 BV. Flavonoid content was increased more than 2 times under above conditions. Conclusion HPD300 macroporous resin showed better comprehensive adsorption property. It can be used to purify and separate licorice flavonoid.
