Objectives To validate the Screening Tool for the Assessment of Malnutrition in Pediatrics (STAMP) in hospitalized pediatric patients, and to assess the nutritional status and nutritional risk using STAMP. Methods the nutritional status of hospitalized pediatric patients was investigated by adopting STAMP. The STAMP score≥4 was deifned as a high standard of nutritional risk. Results Among 1 506 hospitalized children, children with high nutritional risk accounted for 26.56%. The overall prevalence of malnutrition and stunting was 19.12%and 10.16%, respectively. There was signiifcant diffe-rence in stunting among each department (P<0.05), which was the highest in department of internal pediatrics. The proportion of patients receiving nutritional support was 10.09%. Among them, the rate of parenteral and enteral nutrition support was 7.84%and 2.92%, respectively. The ratio of parenteral nutrition to enteral nutrition was 2.68:1. After intervention to hospitalized pa-tients with high nutritional risk, the overall prevalence of high nutritional risk decreased from 26.56%at admission to 21.71%at discharge (P<0.05). Conclusions STAMP can objectively relfect the possible malnutritional risk in hospitalized pediatric patients. The nutrition condition of the pediatric patients can be improved through nutritional risk management.

Chinese Journal of Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases 2006;0(02):-
Objective To understand the personality and self-rated health status and the relationship between them in medical students. Methods By multi-stage cluster random sampling, 878 medical students were selected to investigate the personality by Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised (Short Scale For Chinese) and the health status by self-rated health measurement scale (SRHMS1.0). Results The score of L dimension among male and female medical students was significantly higher than that of nation- wide young population. The scores of E, N and P dimensions had no significant difference between them. The score of P dimension of male students was significantly higher than that of female students. The score of students' SRHMS was 339.28?41.19, which was higher than that of general population in China. The score of physical health subscale among male and female students was 144.90?11.41 and 142.73?11.36, respectively (t=2.829, P=0.005). The scores of SRHMS and its three subscales were significantly different in medical students with different personality traits except the score of physical health subscale in students with different grades of P dimension. The scores of E and L dimensions had significantly positive correlation with SRHMS, and the scores of N and P dimensions had significantly negative correlation with SRHMS. Conclusion The personality traits of medical students were remarkably influenced on their self-rated health. To encourage medical students to reform the wholesome personality will be helpful to their health.

Objective To investigate the effect of ketamine on the cGMP content in cerebral cortex, hypothalamus and brain stem in a rat model of CFA-induced arthritis. Methods Twenty-four SD rats weighing 200-220 g were randomly divided into three groups with 8 animals in each group, group Ⅰ: normal rat + intraperitoneal normal saline (ip NS);group Ⅱ : arthritic rat+ ip NS;group Ⅲ: arthritic rat + ip ketamine 100mg?kg-1 . Arthritis was produced by injecting CFA 0.05 ml into left ankle joint which developed inflammatory response within 24h and became hyperalgesic. The hyperalgesia persisted for more than 6 weeks. Three days after the arthritis model was established, paw withdrawal latency (PWL) to radiant heat was measured. 15 min after ip ketamine the animals were decapitated and cerebral cortex, hypothalamus and brain stem were separately isolated for determination of cGMP content using radioimmunoassay. Results In arthritic rats the PWL was significantly shortert (6.7 ? 1.2)s] than that in the normai rats [(12.5?1.9)s] ( P

OBJECTIVE:To detect the expression of genes of leukemia cell line K562 treated by artemisinin using the gene chip technology and to study the mechanism of artemisinin in the inhibition of leukemia cell line K562 on the molecular level. METHODS:K562 cells were treated with artemisinin for 24h,and then the morphological change of K562 cells were observed under invert microscope and fluorescence microscope. The cell cycle state was examined by flow cytometry analysis (FCM). Total RNA samples were extracted and reverse transcribed to cDNA. Cy3-labelled cDNA samples were hybridized with gene chips. The hybridization results were detected by Gene Pix 4100A. RESULTS: Under invert microscope, different degree of shrinkage of K562 cells was noted, karyoschisis was reduced, cell density was decreased and the numbers of drift cells were increased.Under fluorescence microscope, caryotin was highly concentrated, marginalized and agglomerated to relucent clump,i.e.apoptotic body. Flow cytometric analysis showed that ratio of cells in G2 phase increased markedly. Hybridization analysis showed down-regulation of cyclin D1,cdk4,cdk2,cdc2,DNA-PK,DNA-TopoI,mcl-1,erk,jnk and VEGF in the artemisinin-treated K562 cells.CONCLUSION: The mechanism for artemisinin to inhibit the proliferation of leukemia cell line K562 is related to its action to alter the gene expression of certain regulatory substances involved in cell cycle and induce apoptosis of leukemia cell line K562.

OBJECTIVE:To study the apoptosis of human leukemic cells induced by Dihydroartemisinin and its molecular mechanism.METHODS:Human leukemia K562 cells were treated by Dihydroartemisinin. The inhibitory effect on cell proliferation was assayed by MTT.Fluorescence microscopy was applied to observe the presence of apoptosis. The expression of caspase-3 was assayed with reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Levels of mitochondrial and cytoplasmic cytochrome C were determined using Western blot.RESULTS:After treatment with Dihydroartemisinin for 48 hours, the IC50 values of human leukemia K562 cells were 8? 10-5mol? L-1 detected at a wavelength of 570nm by MTT.Distinct morphology changes of cell apoptosis such as karyopyknosis and conglomeration were observed by Hoechst33342/PI staining.RT-PCR assay showed the expression of Caspase-3.Western-blot detection showed the decrease of mitochondrial cytochrome C concentration but the positive expression of cytoplasmic cytochrome C concentration.CONCLUSION:Dihydroartemisinin could inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis of human leakemic K562 cells, this may partially attributed to the promotion of the delivery of cyt-c and the activation of caspase-3.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2014;(8):826-829,830
Objective To investigate renal dialysis patients' resilience and influencing factors for clinical teaching. Methods Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC),simplified coping style questionnaire (SCSQ), perceived social support scale (PSSS) and positive and negative affect scale (PANAS) were used for a survey of 160 renal dialysis patients in Xinan Hospital and Xinqiao Hospital (156 valid questionnaires) and the questionnaire information was put into the computer by the two-input mode and was made the questionnaire data analysis, single factor analysis and variance and re-gression analysis of by SPSS 18.0. Results Renal dialysis patients' resilience has no significant differ-ence in gender, frequency of kidney dialysis and kidney dialysis time (P>0.05), but resilience and positive coping scores of the age group between 31 to 40 were significantly higher than those of the group between 41-50 group(P=0.000). Taking the education background into consideration, resilience and positive coping scores of junior high school or above education were significantly higher than those of primary school education (P=0.000,P=0.000). Positive emotion, positive coping, and social support were positively correlated with resilience and negative emotions were negatively correlated with resilience in linear regression analysis. Conclusion Kidney dialysis patients who are over the age of 40 and less educated may have lower resilience, and less positive coping, more prone to nega-tive emotions, which is not conducive to the rehabilitation and treatment of disease. For kidney dialysis patients, improving their positive response, perceived social support and positive mood, and reducing their negative emotions are beneficial to the improvement of their resilience.
