Objective To explore the clinical value of false positive of Down’ s Syndrome Screening for premature rupture of membranes in the second trimester of pregnancy. Methods From Jan. 2009 to Jul. 2013, there were 321 cases who were in the second trimester of high risk pregnancy recieved Down’ s Syndrome Screening. Their fetals have been excluded chromosome or organ abnormality, and there was no fetal organ structure abnormal through sequence prenatal ultrasound examinations. Results of their pregnancy have been followed-up, and pregnancy outcomes of 346 cases who were of low risk were followed-up at the same time. Results Among the 321 cases, there were 14 ca-ses of abortion because of PROM ( gestational age less than 28 weeks);17 cases of premature delivery because of PROM, including 9 cases whose gestational age were from 28 to 34 weeks and 8 cases whose gestational age were from 34 weeks to 37 weeks;and 7 cases of neonatal asphyxia. In the low risk group, abortion because of PROM occured in 6 cases before 28 weeks, 3 cases between 28 to 34 weeks, and 4 ca-ses between 34 to 37 weeks, and neonatal asphyxia occured in 3 cases. Conclusion Comparing with Down’ s screening false positive preg-nant women and the low risk group, the false positive group have a higher occurrence of PROM, Down’ s screening is a potential high risk in-dex as a predictor of PROM.

Objective To assess the therapeutic effect of radioactive seed 125I brachytherapy combined with GP chemotherapy regimen (gemcitabine 1000 mg/m2, cisplatin 75 mg/m2) for inoperabale stage Ⅲ non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods Thirty-nine documented inoperable stage Ⅲ NSCLC patients, enrolled between January 2005 and June 2008 for the study group, were treated with the combination of 125I brachytherapy and GP regimen. The brachytherapy methods were conducted according to TPS and each patient was treated under those patients were treated with standard GP regimen. Chest CT scans were performed every three months post-procedurally, until disease progression or recurrence. The follow-up time was up to twenty four months after treatment. In the control group, equal amount of Ⅲ stage NSCLC patients were treated with standard GP regimen alone. Chi-square test and survival analysis with Kaplan-Meier and Log-rank were used to compare the differences of recent (3 months after therapy)efficiency, survival rate, survival time between two groups. Results The re-cent effective rates of the study group (71.8%, 28/39) and control group (61.5%, 24/39) were not statistical different (χ2=0.93, P>0.05), yet the tumor CR rates in two groups showed significant disparity (χ2=4.48, P<0.05). The one-year survival rates of the study group and the control were 79.5% (31/39), 66.7%(26/39) respectively, with no significant difference (χ2=1.57, P>0.05). However, singificant differences (χ2=4.07, 4.63,both P<0.05) were found in 2-year survival rate and median survival time, with 41.0% (16/39) vs 23.1% (9/39) and 18.9±2.7 months vs 14.2±0.7 months. Conclusions 125I brachytherapy combined with GP regimen chemotherapy could be an effective treatment method and could improve the tumor CR rate and survival rate for patients with inoperable stage Ⅲ NSCLC.

Objective: To observe the difference of the effect of low-frequency electroacupuncture (EA) on blood lipids between male and female patients with simple obesity due to damp induced by spleen deficiency. Methods: Eighty patients with simple obesity were recruited, including 37 males and 43 females, to receive low-frequency EA by selecting Yinlingquan (SP 10), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), Zusanli (ST 36), Fenglong (ST 40), Quchi (LI 11), Tianshu (ST 25), Zhongwan (CV 12), Shuifen (CV 9), Qihai (CV 6) and Guanyuan (CV 4), with needles retained for 30 min. The treatment was given once a day, 10 sessions as a treatment course, for 2 courses in total. The contents of body fat percentage (F%), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), blood glucose (Glu) and adiponectin (ADPN) in serum were observed to see the changes, and the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results: After the treatment, F%, and serum contents of TC, TG, LDL, Glu and ADPN dropped significantly in the two groups (P<0.05 or P<0.01) and the serum content of HDL increased significantly in male group (P<0.05). The decrease of F% in female group was more significant than that in male group (P<0.01); the decrease of ADPN in male group was more significant than that in female group (P<0.05). Conclusion: EA can regulate the disordered blood lipids in male and female patients with simple obesity, with certain differences between genders. The decrease of subcutaneous fat content is more significant in females than that in males, while the decrease of ADPN is more significant in males.

OBJECTIVETo establish a RP-HPLC method for determination of plasma progesterone and to apply the method for pharmacokinetics study of progesterone-loaded lipid nanoparticles after oral administration in rats.
METHODSThe plasma samples were collected from castrated rat after oral administration of progesterone-loaded lipid nanoparticles and extracted by acetic ether. The determination was performed on a Hypersil C18 column (150 mm X 3.9 mm , 5 microm) with a mobile phase consisting of methanol and water (60:40) at a flow-rate of 0.6 ml/min. The UV detector was at 240 nm and danazol was used as internal standard.
RESULTGood linearity was obtained over the range of 0.02-2 microg/ml progesterone in plasma(r=0.9999, n=3). The quantification limit was (0.02 +/-0.004) microg/ml(n=3) and the limit of detection was 0.005 microg.mL(-1)(S/N = or >3). The inter-and intra-day RSDs were all less than 10% for quality control samples at high-, medium- and low-concentrations. The average absolute recovery rate was 90.5 % and the average method recovery was in the range of 93.4 %-107.5%. The plasma concentration-time curves indicated that tmax was delayed after administration of progesterone-loaded lipid nanoparticles, and the bioavailability was increased significantly, compared with contrast solution.
CONCLUSIONThe method developed is stable, simple, rapid, accurate, sensitive and applicable for determining plasma concentrations of progesterone of progesterone-loaded lipid nanoparticles in pharmacokinetic studies.
