This research is to investigate study the flavonoids from stems of Nelumbo nucifera and the cytotoxic activities of iso- lated compounds. The constituents were separated by column chromatography, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data analyses. The isolated compounds were evaluated for cytoxic activities by MTT method. Twelve compounds were isolated and identified as rhamnazin-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1), luteolin-3', 4'-dimethylether-7-O-beta-D-glucoside (2), kaempferol-3-O-beta-D-xylopyranosyl-(1-->2)-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (3), quercetin-3,3'-di-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (4), 1, 8-dihydroxy-3,7-dimethoxyxanthone (5), isorhamnetin-3-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside(6) , kaempferol(7), isorhamnetin (8), quercetin(9), astragalin(10), hyperoside (11) and 1-hy- droxy-3,7,8-trimethoxyxanthone(12). All compounds were isolated from stems of this plant for the first time, and compounds 1-5 were firstly isolated from the family nelumbonaceae. Compounds 24 and 6 showed significant cytotoxic activities against BEL-7402 carcinoma cell lines at a concentration of 1 x 10(-5) mol x L(-1) with the inhibitory rate of 67.36%, 53.25%, 57.78%, 60.13% and 52.11%, respectively.

2.Factors Affecting Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emisson in Newb orn Hearing Screening
Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 1997;0(04):-
Objective To seek the factors affecting distortion product otoac oustic emisson in newborn hearing screening. Methods All newborns in our hospital received hearing sc reening by DPOAE and wer e investigated for the factors such as: birth history, pregnancy history, family history, the social position of the family. All data were analysed by SPSS. Results 82.8%(3 242/3 944) newborns passed the hearing sc reening. Pass rates were h igher in right ears, female baby, monocyesis, normal or high birth weight and fo rceps delivery. The Results of the first hearing screening were correlated with birth weight, sex and fetus number by logistic regression. Conclusion The factors suc h as sex, ways of labor, fetus number, fetus age, and birth weight can affect t he results of first hearing screening significantly.
3.Concept of professional socialization in nursing
International e-Journal of Science, Medicine and Education 2012;6(1):31-35
Each nursing student comes to nursing with a
lay image of nursing portrayed by nurses they have seen.
This lay perception of nursing that a nursing student holds
is transformed to a more professional understanding that
is acquired in nursing schools. This process is known as
professional socialization. It is a process of learning the
norms, attitudes, behaviours, skills, roles, and values
of the profession. It involves the internalization of the
values and norms of the profession in the individual’s
own behaviour and self-concept. The ultimate goal of
professional socialization is to internalize a professional
identity of the profession. Professional socialization sets
in to reduce the tension from the scenario of reality
shock and facilitate adaptation during the transition
process. This paper serves as a concept paper with the
main purpose of introducing and explaining the concept
of professional socialization in nursing to help the
readers in gaining further understanding of the concept,
especially within the local context. The first author
has also incorporated her own personal reflections with
regards to her socialization process to nursing.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(11):-
Objective: To investigate the efficacy of gemcitabine in chemotherapy of cervical carcinoma. Methods:10 untreated cervical carcinoma patients had been divided into two groups,5 cases were treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy, others were treated only with radiotherapy. All patients were operated and compared the pathologic changes of cancers. Moreover 3 cases with recurrent tumors had been treated with gemcitabine and other agents . Results: The rate of complete response(CR) was 60% in group of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and 20% in patients with only radiotherapy. Only one case achieved partial response (PR) in patients with recurrence. Conclusion: The neoadjuvant chemotherapy in cervical carcinoma with gemcitabine is helpful for achieving good response .As radiation sensitizer or radio-potentiator,gemcitabine can promote efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in cervical carcinoma.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2004;0(01):-
Objective: To study the factors relating the prognosis of ovarian granulosa cell tumor and the characteristics of its clinical presentations. Methods: The clinical records and pathological sections of 24 cases with granulosa cell tumor of ovary were reviewed retrospectively. The clinical characteristics, the clinical stage, and the therapeutic programs and the results were summarized respectively. Results:The 5-years survival rate showed that the clinical stage influenced the prognosis of ovarian granulosa cell tumor obviously. Conclusion: The early dection is the major factor which influences the patients' survival rate.

International Journal of Surgery 2009;36(7):466-468
Objective To evaluate the clinical outcome of lumbar spinal canal stenosis treated by microen-descopic discectomy. Methods The rear guard intervertebral discoscope was used to carry on unilateral or-bilateral "windowing" to relieve the dura mater spinalis and the nerve root oppression thoroughly. The "C" ann machine or laferal side photography position X was used for localization. Approximately 1.5 cm incision was made under local anesthesia or under the shallow epidural anaesthesia at posterior waist, the pathway tube was implanted after progressive expansion, part of lamina of vertebra was removed by drill, endoscope was inserted under the television surveillance to reveal removed lamina of verfebra, the proliferated cohesed articular process, the plump yellow ligament flava and the bulging intervertebral disc nucleus pulposus tis-sues, the nerve root canal was depressed, to relieve thoroughly its oppression, dura mater and nerve root. Results The follow-up continued from 5 months to 36 months. The evaluation with Nakai scale revealed ex-cellent in 168 cases, good in 9 cases, fair in 6 cases. The rate of good results was 96.7%. Conclusions Totally 183 cases were treated with this procedure posterior microendoscropie discectomy shows minimal inva-sion, less blood loss and quick recovery. The stability of lumbar spine can be reserved. It is safe and effec-tive for treating lumbar disc herniation complicated with spinal stenesis.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 1998;0(12):-
Objective To discuss the therapeutic method of the chronical septic hip replacements with discharging sinuses. Methods Ten cases of infected hip replacement with discharging sinuses, including 6 males and 4 females with a mean age of 59 years old (from 48 to 65 years old ) were reported. The preoper ative mean Harris score was 31 (range 26 to 38), mean erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) was 56 mm/h (38 to 74 mm/h). Cultures and sensitive test before and d uring operation were both carried out. One stage revision was performed in eig ht cases, two stage revision was performed in two cases. Results Preoperation microorganism cultures of joint aspiration or pus in sinus were positive in eigh t cases and negative in two cases; six had staphylococcus and two Gram negative microorganism. Intraoperation microorganism cultures were positive in nine cases and negative in 1 case; seven had staphylococcus and two had Gram negative. Acc ording to the results of preoperation microorganism cultures, six cases of staph ylococcus infection two negative cases of microorganism culture were treated wit h one stage revision, the other two cases of infection by Gram negative microo rganism had undergone two stage revision. No recurrence was found after 19 mon ths (8 to 30 months) follow up. ESR after operation decreased to normal range. Mean Harris score increased significantly to 82.5 (78 to 89) after revision(t- test, P
