AIM To investigate the protective effects and mechanisms of TMP on accelerated anti-glomerulus basement membrane(GBM) antibody nephritis of rats. METHODS Model of accelerated anti-GBM nephritis was established in rats and TMP was administrated 120 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 by ip since the day before the model established, consecutively for 15 days. Content of 24h urine protein was detected after model established and rats were killed on d 7 and d 14. Contents of blood urine nitrogen (BUN) and serum creatinine (SCr) were detected. Renal cortex cytoplasm and mitochondria were produced and change of content of lipid peroxidation products malondialdehyde(MDA), activities of glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) and catalase(CAT) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) were investigated. OBJECTIVE To investigate the TORCH infection of women with childbearing age in Chongqing.(METHODS) Special IgM antibodies were detected by the TORCH-IgM screen test kits in 2067 women with(childbearing) age,among them 1829 were women with normal childbearing and 238 were women with abnormal one.RESULTS The infection rate of Toxoplasma gondii(TOX),Rubella virus(RV),Cytomegalovirus(CMV) in women with abnormal childbearing was significantly higher than those in women with normal one(P(0.05)).CONCLUSIONS The(abnormal) pregnancy is (related) with TORCH infection.So TORCH screen before pregnancy is very important to aristogenesis.

Objective To study the clinical application of the lung lesion biopsy through helical CT-guided fine needle aspiration. Methods 44 cases of lung lesions were pathologically biopsy diagnosed through helical CT-guided fine needle aspiration. Results All 44 lung lesions were successfully conducted biopsy through CT-guided fine needle aspiration, and the pathological confirmed diagnosis rate was 98%. Conclusion With high diagnosis rate, CT- fine needle aspiration is clinically applicable and the complication is rare. It is easily-operated, safe and economical.

Objective To investigate the effect on the menstrual patterns and sexual quality of life of patients with adenomyosis after treated with Mirena IUD.Methods56 patients with adenomyosis who were treated with Mirena IUD were recruited from August 2009 to December 2009.We used Menstrual blood loss chart method,Dysmenorrhea score method and Brief Index of Sexual Function for Women (BISF-W) to evaluate the menstrual pattern,the volume of uterus and sexual quality after1,3,6,9,12 months.{Results53 patients were followed up,the rate was 94.6%.The condition of 56 patients became better after treated with Mirena for 3,6,9,12 months,dysmenorrhea[Placed before:(3.15±0.91)points;After placing:(1.41±0.51)points,(0.22±0.09)points,(0.07±0.01)points,0 points]and menstrual quantity[Placed before:(12.0±57.5)points;After placing:(71±23.1)points,(29±19.4)points,(18±10.5)points,(10±4.7)points]were both reduced(P＜0.05),the symptoms were not significantly improved after 1 month(P＞0.05).D2 indicators was significantly improved after 3 months of treatment (P＜0.05),sexual function was also improved after 6 months(P＜0.05～0.01).ConclusionsMirena IUD has a good effect on the menstrual pattern and sexual function for patients with adenomyosis.

ObjectiveTo compare the surgical outcomes of total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH) and total vaginal hysterectomy (TVH).MethodsThe clinical data of 509 TAH cases and 799 TVH cases including operating time, bleeding volume, days being in hospital and outcome of 3 months following-up were analyzed retrospectively.ResultsThe average operating time and bleeding volume of TVH were 47.6 minutes and 199 ml respectively, less than that of TAH (128 minutes and 241 ml). The days being in hospital of TVH were also less that of TAH, and 12-Short Form Health Survey (SF-12) scores of TVH were higher than that of TAH.ConclusionTVH has minor lesion and is helpful for improving the quality of patients' life.

Objective To evaluate whether three chronic kidney disease epidemiology collaboration (CKD-EPI) equations (CKD-EPI2009Scr,CKD-EPI2012SCysC and CKD-EPI2012Scr-SCysC) are applicable in the prediction of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in Chinese patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN).Methods One hundred and eight patients with DN who were hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University with GFR being measured by dynamic renal imaging with 99mTc-DTPA from June 2012 to April 2014 were enrolled in this study.GFR measured by dynamic renal imaging with 99mTe-DTPA was used as the reference value (rGFR).GFR was estimated by the CKD-EPI2009Scr equation,the CKD-EPI2012SCySC equation,and the CKD-EPI2012Scr-SCysC equation (labeled as eGFR1,eGFR2,eGFR3).The correlation,30％ accuracy,staging consistency,deviation and diagnostic accuracy were compared among the three CKD-EPI equations.Results The rGFR in 108 DN patients was (61.78±26.51) ml· min-1· (1.73 m2)-1.The correlation between three eGFRs and rGFR was significant (all P ＜ 0.01),the correlation coefficients were 0.738,0.708,0.782.The 30％ accuracy were 74.07％,52.78％,67.59％,The 30％ accuracy of eGFR1 and eGFR3 were higher than eGFR2 (all P ＜ 0.05),but there was no significant difference between eGFR3 and eGFR1 (x2=0.874,P=0.436).The staging consistency was not ideal,Kappa values were 0.391,0.180 and 0.422.For the deviations between three eGFRs and rGFR,there was no significant difference between eGFR3 and rGFR (P ＞ 0.05),eGFR1 underestimated rGFR,eGFR2 overestimated rGFR (all P ＜ 0.01).The results of the Bland-Altman chart showed that consistencies between three eGFRs and rGFR were poor,the degree of deviation of eGFR3 was the smallest.The area under the ROC curve (AUC) of three eGFRs was 0.878,0.883 and 0.915.The AUC,sensitivity,specificity,overall compliance rate and Youden index of eGFR3 were the highest.Conclusions The eGFRs predicted by the three CKD-EPI equations showed good relevance,accuracy and diagnostic accuracy with the rGFR,but poor in consistencies.Comparatively,CKD-EPI2012Scr-SCysC may be better than others,but its consistency limits exceeds the acceptable limits.Therefore,the applicability of using the three CKD-EPI equations to predict the GFR in Chinese DN patients requires a larger sample and multiple verifications as well as further improvement.

Objective To study the clinical significance of chromosome karyotyping in pregnant women with a history of abnormal pregnancy. Methods The fetal chromosome karyotypes of 1 193 pregnant women with a history of abnormal pregnancy in Peking University First Hospital from January 4, 2005 to December 31, 2013 were analyzed. According to the etiology of their previous abnormal pregnancy, these women were divided into four groups: 273 women had children with inherited metabolic disorders or single-gene genetic diseases (group A), 81 women had children or fetuses with chromosome abnormalities (group B), eight cases had an abnormal chromosomal karyotype in either husband or wife (group C), and 833 women had abnormal pregnancy of unknown causes(group D). Results Forty-eight [4.0%(48/1 193)] and fetuses were found to have abnormal chromosomal karyotypes, including 26 cases of chromosome polymorphism variations and 22 cases of numerical and structural abnormalities (four cases of trisomy 21, four cases of numerical sex chromosome abnormalities, three cases of trisomy 18, three cases of extra small chromosome mosaicism, three cases of reciprocal translocation, one case of Robertsonian translocation, one case of chromosome six inversion between the arms, one case of chromosome three inversion between the arms, one case of mosaicism of trisomy 14 and one case of structural abnormality of chromosome 14). In group A, four cases (1.5%) of chromosomal abnormalities of clinical significance and four cases of chromosome polymorphism variations were detected. Meanwhile, 61 fetuses with inherited metabolic disorders or single-gene genetic diseases and two cases of gene mutation carriers were detected in group A, but among whom, there were no abnormal chromosome karyotype cases. In group B, two cases (2.5%) of chromosomal abnormalities were found. In group C, two cases (2/8) of reciprocal translocation were found, whose karyotypes were the same as the parents. In group D, three cases of trisomy 21, three cases of trisomy 18, two cases of extra small chromosome mosaicism and two cases of numerical sex chromosome abnormalities were found. All the mothers in this group were of advanced age. Four cases of structural abnormalities and 22 cases of chromosome polymorphism variations were also found in this group, chromosomal analysis was subsequently performed in those couples, and found that the abnormal chromosomal karyotypes in the fetuses were the same as those in the parents. Conclusions Appropriate prenatal cell genetic diagnostic methods should be chosen according to the causes of abnormal pregnancy history.

AIM: To investigate the action of testosterone on atherosclerosis in a rabbit model. METHODS: 37 male cholesterol-fed rabbits were divided into five groups: castration group: castrated rabbits without exogenous testosterone administration; testosterone Ⅰ group: castrated rabbits with exogenous testosterone 0.25 mg?kg -1?d -1; testosterone Ⅱ group: castrated rabbits with exogenous testosterone 2.5 mg?kg -1?d -1; testosterone Ⅲ group: castrated rabbits with exogenous testosterone 12.5 mg?kg -1?d -1. The sham operation group was also set. Three months later, the levels of testosterone, blood lipids (including TG, HDL-C, LDL-C), PAI activity, nitric oxide (NO) content, endothelin (ET), angiotensin Ⅱ (AngⅡ) in blood were detected. RESULTS: It showed that testosterone in castration group was the lowest. There was no significant difference of TG or LDL-C between castration group and the other four groups. HDL-C in castration group was lower than that in other four groups. NO content of castration group was lower than that in others, but PAI activity, ET and AngⅡ concentration were higher than that in other groups. CONCLUSION: Testosterone is a protective factor against atherosclerosis in male rabbits.
