The optimum convolution spectra of β-galactosidase and the linear equation of Qj=1.906×10-2＋4.946×10-3 C＋1.909×10-4 C2,r=1.0000 under the best condition were established by the convolution spectrum method.Based on the chromogenic substrate o-nitrophenyl-β-galactoside,a method for the determination ofβ-galactosidase activity in the COS-1 extraction sample which had been transfected transiently expression vector of β-galactosidase was determined by using the convolution curve transformation technology.The convolution spectrum method was compared with the absorption method and the result was satisfactory.The method was simple,convenient,fast and valuable to the biochemical analysis.

Recent studies have demonstrated that hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for stroke,which may cause vascular endothelial injury by multiple mechanisms,destroy blood coagulation and fibrinolytic systems,and influence on lipid metabolism.Methylenetetra hydrofolate reductase(MTHFR)is a key enzyme of homocysteine metabolic pathway in the human body.If it is insufficient or its activity decreases,it will directly result in the accumula tion of homocysteine in the human body,and callse hyperhomocysteinemia.Although a number of studies have found that MTHFR gene mutation is the main cause of MTHFR insufficient and its activity decrease,the correlation between MTHFR gene mutation and ischemic cerebral vascular disease is quite controversial now.This article reviews the relationship between MTHFR gene polymorphisms and ischemic stroke.

Objective: To qualitatively identify 5 chlorin metal complexes which had similar structures. Methods: The compounds were identified by the convolution curve transformation technology and computer information process technology. Results: The results were demonstrated by match comparison and three dimensional differential diagram of convolution spectra. Five chlorin metal complexes were identified satisfactorily and 10 nonidentity identification results were acquired. Conclusion: The convolution spectrum method is simple and feasible for the identification of the compounds which have similar structures. [

Objective To evaluate plasma natriuretic peptide brain (BNP) levels in elderly male patients with type 2 diabetes and primary osteoporosis.Methods A total of 122 elderly male patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into 3 groups according to bone mineral density(BMD):normal group (41 cases),osteopenia group (40 cases) and osteoporosis group (41 cases),and another 33 age matched healthy subjects as control group.Plasma BNP levels were determined by ELISA.Results Plasma BNP levels in osteoporosis group [(1.95 ± 0.49) pmol/L] and osteopenia group [(1.64±0.48) pmol/L] were significantly elevated compared with that in normal group [(1.32±0.38) pmol/L] and control group [(1.26±0.39) pmol/L] (all P＜0.01).There was a statistical difference between osteoporosis group and osteopenia group (t=3.539,P＜0.05),and also between normal group and control group (t=2.726,P＜0.05).Plasma BNP levels had negative correlation with BMD of 2na-4th lumbar vertebra (r=-0.366) and femoral neck (r=-0.375),body mass index (r=-0.288) and estrodiol (E2) (r=-0.352) (all P＜0.05); while had a positive correlation with parathyroid hormone (PTH) (r=0.353,P＜0.05).Conclusions With BMD declining,plasma BNP levels are elevated in elderly male type 2 diabetes,which may be related to the compensatory increase in PTH and the decrease in estradiol.

Objective To study the results of laparoscopic approach in the treatment ot gallbladder and common bile duct stones.Method The authors reviewed data of 60 patients with gallbladder and bile duct stones treated laparoscopically.Results All the 60 patients treated with laparoscopic cholecystectomy and laparoscopic transcystic common bile duct exploration (LcTDE) were successful.There were 1 bile duct stone in 32 patients,and 2 to 6 bile duct stones in 28 patients.The operation time was (38.7±15.1) min and the hospitalization time was (5.5±2.1) days.One patient developed biliary fistula postoperatively which healed after 7 days of conservative treatment.One patient had bile duct residual stone which was treated by ERCP.The remaining patients were well.Conclusion Laparoscopic transcystic common bile duct exploration using a mini incision and primary suturing of the bile duct was simple,safe and efficacious.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of surgical repair for non-circumferential defect of bile duct in Mirizzi syndrome.Method The clinical data of 32 patients with Mirizzi syndrome with non-circumferential defect of bile duct were repaired using the patient's own tissues such as gallbladder pedicle flap,umbilical venous flap and omental flap.Results All the patients were operated success fully.There was no operative mortality.The defects in the bile duct were repaired using gallbladder pedicle flap in 25 patients,umbilical venous flap in 5 patients and omental flap in 2 patients.There were 2 patients who developed postoperative complications.There was one postoperative bile leakage in a patient who was repaired using an umbilical venous flap.The other complication was residual bile duct stones.The patient with postoperative bile leakage was drained through a drainage tube which was removed after 7 days.The residual bile duct stones were removed by endoscopy through a T-tube sinus after 9 months.All patients were confirmed by T-tube cholangiography after 9 to 12 months to have no stones,bile duct stenosis or any other abnormalities.The T-tube was then removed.All patients were followed -up for 1 to 5 years.All patients had no cholangitis,abdominal pain,jaundice or fever.Conclusions Using the patients' own tissues such as gallbladder pedicle flap,umbilical venous flap and omental flap to surgical repair the defect in the bile duct of patients with Mirizzi syndrome was effective.This surgical treatment is a good choice.

Objective To evaluate the effect of debridement hepatectomy with selective hepatopetal blood occlusion in the treatment of severe hepatic trauma.Methods The clinical data of 55 patients with severe hepatic trauma treated by debridement hepatectomy with selective hepatopetal blood occlusion were retrospectively analyzed.20,20 and 15 patients were with grade Ⅲ,Ⅳ and Ⅴ hepatic trauma respectively,combined with major peripheral hepatic vascular injury in 14 cases and with other trauma in 35 cases.Additional procedures including liver suture repair in 7 cases,perihepatic gauze packing in 3 cases,inferior vena cava repair in 5 cases,hepatic vein repair in 4 cases,hepatic vein ligation in 3 cases and hepatic artery ligation in 2 cases were performed.Other operations such as craniotomy debridement in 3 cases,cholecystectomy in 6 cases,T tube drainage of common bile duct in 4 cases,splenectomy in 5 cases,pancreatic tail resection in 2 cases,left kidney resection in 1 case,thoracic cavity closed drainage in 9 cases,partial small bowel resection or repair in 4 cases and stomach repair in 1 case were performed as needed.Results The operations were successful in 47 patients.Postoperative complications were observed in 19 cases (34.5％) including coagulation disorders in 1 case,postoperative abdominal bleeding in 2 cases,intestinal obstruction in 1 case,liver and renal dysfunction in 4 cases,abdominal infection in 3 cases,incision infection in 2 cases,pulmonary infection in 4 cases,pleural effuion in 10 cases.Death occurred in 8 patients (14.5％),the cause of death were hemorrhagic shock in 3 cases,combined with severe craniocerebral injury in 2 cases,septic shock in one case,and multiple organ failure in 2 cases.Conclusions Debridement hepatectomy with slective hepatopetal blood occlusion is an effective treatment for severe hepatic trauma.

Objective To investigate the relationship between CIDE-B change and apoptosis by detecting expression of CIDE-B gene and protein under various injuring conditions(firearm injury and in- cision injury)and comparing neuronal apoptosis.Methods A total of 108 New Zealand rabbits were randomized into firearm injury group,incision injury group and control group.Samples were harvested at different time points after injury for measuring CIDE-B mRNA expression level by RT-PCR,demonstrating morphological distribution of CIDE-B mRNA by in situ hybridization and determining CIDE-B protein level by Western blot.Results Following nerve injury,CIDE-B mRNA expression in spinal cord was en- hanced markedly in the firearm injury group,increased from at day 1,reached peak at day 7,lasted for two weeks and declined after four weeks.CIDE-B mRNA expression was increased late,with small range in the incision injury group.The changes in CIDE-B protein level accorded with those in CIDE-B mRNA level.There was slight CIDE-B mRNA expression,distributing in spinal cord neuronal cytoplasma,in spinal cord tissues in the control group.Conclusions Following peripheral nerve injury,expressions of CIDE-B mRNA and protein are enhanced in spinal cord neurons and distributed in the grey matter of spi- nal cord.Such enhancement is more marked after firearm injury than incision injury.
