Objective:To investigate the value of serum IL-23 in predicting the progression of prostate cancer at different stages of treatment. Methods:A total of 124 patients with metastatic prostate cancer diagnosed in Beijing Hospital from June 2018 to March 2019 were collected.Patients were TNM-staged according to the Prostate Cancer Guidelines of the European Association of Urology.Serum IL-23 levels were measured in patients with metastatic castration resistance prostate cancer(mCRPC), metastatic castration sensitive prostate cancer(mCSPC)and benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH), respectively.Patients with mCRPC were subgrouped based on disease stability, and serum IL-23 levels were compared between the subgroups.Serum IL-23 levels in the groups were analyzed and compared with the Gleason score and the prostate-specific antigen(PSA)level. Results:The median value of serum IL-23 in the mCRPC group was 79.73(45.61, 95.63)μg/L, which was higher than that in the BPH group[30.88(15.01, 44.94)μg/L, Z=22.66, P=0.000]and the mCSPC group[46.10(35.27, 80.92)μg/L, Z=11.46, P=0.001]. Serum IL-23 levels were higher in the mCSPC group than in the BPH group( Z=7.17, P=0.007). Analysis for the subgroups showed that the median value of serum IL-23 was 110.25(88.47, 159.09)μg/L in mCRPC patients with unstable disease, which was higher than that in mCRPC patients with stable disease[46.52(44.97, 80.33)μg/L, Z=33.99, P=0.000]. There was no significant difference in serum IL-23 levels between mCRPC patients with stable disease and mCSPC patients[46.10(35.27, 80.92)μg/L]( Z=0.35, P=0.554). Conclusions:Serum IL-23 can be used as a potential biological indicator to predict the therapeutic effect of mCSPC and to predict tumor metastasis.

MR arthrography is a useful modality for evaluating the labrocapsular ligamentous complex (LCLC) of the shoulder. This study was performed to describe normal anatomic variations and pitfalls in image interpretation related to evaluation of the LCLC. MR arthrogram of 56 shoulders in 41 asymptomatic young, active, male volunteers were prospectively reviewed to evaluate the labral shapes, capsular insertions and images which may mimic the lesions of glenohumeral instability. The anterior and posterior parts of the labra, respectively, varied in shape: triangular (72%,36%), round (13%,35%), cleaved (8%,1%), notched (2%,0%), flat (5%,24%), and absent (0%,4%). The anterior and posterior capsular insertions, respectively, varied in site: Mosely and Oevergaard type I (82%,62%), type II (13%,36%), and type III (5%2%). A number of pitfalls in image interpretation were discovered. Articular cartilage undercutting the labrum (29%) and middle glenohumoral ligament in proximity to anterior labrum (5%) simulated a labral tear. Joint fluid interposed in the central, superior portion of the sublabral sulci (25%) simulated a SLAP lesion. Synovial fold (38%) in the axillary pouch resembled a loose body. Knowledge of normal variations and pitfalls in MR arthrogram image interpretation of labral-capsular-ligamentous complex will help the orthopedist to accurately detect debilitating derangements associated with the glenohumeral instability.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2018;25(6):26-29
Objective To explore the efficacy of Fushe Jiedu Decoction combined with red light on viper bites injury limb swelling and the effects on the inflammatory cytokines. Methods Totally 90 patients were divided into control group and experimental group by using random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The wounds of the control group were sterilized and given anti-snake venom serum, antibiotics, and tetanus immunoglobulin and supplemented with energy to correct water and electrolyte disturbances. The experimental group was treated with Fushe Jiedu Decoction based on the treatment of control group,150 mL each time, orally, twice a day; Red light was applied at the site of the most obvious swelling of the injured limb, 20 minutes each time, twice a day. The treatment lasted for 6 d. The swelling of injured limbs, serum C-reactive protein (CRP), 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), histamine, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-6 levels before and after treatment in the two groups were observed. Results Compared with before treatment, the swelling of the limbs disappeared significantly in the experimental group at 3 d and 6 d and in the control group at 6 d, with statistical significance (P<0.01). Compared with the control group at the same time point, the swelling of the limbs in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group at 3 d and 6 d, with statistical significance (P<0.01). Compared with before treatment, the levels of CRP, 5-HT, TNF-α, and IL-6 were significantly lower in the two groups, with statistical significance (P<0.05). After treatment, CRP, 5-HT and histamine in the experimental group were significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Fushe Jiedu Decoction combined with red light has good efficacy for viper bites injury limb swelling, which can reduce inflammatory cytokines levels of patients.

OBJECTIVETo systematically assess the efficacy and safety of Rhodiola in treating chronic stable angina pectoris.
METHODSOur group searched the Cochrane library, PubMed, Embase, Chinese biomedical literature database (CBM), VIP database (VIP), Chinese Journal Full-text Database (CNKI) for the literature published in English and Chinese till April 2013. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included on the therapeutic effect of Rhodiola or Rhodiola plus conventional Western medicine in comparison with the conventional Western medicine treatment on stable angina. Data were extracted according the data extraction form. The literature methodological quality was assessed by using the Cochrane handbook, and data analyzed by Rev-Man 5.2 Software for Meta-analysis. The effect indicators of outcomes was expressed by odds ratio (OR) and 95% CI.
RESULTSA total of 7 randomized controlled trials, 662 cases of stable angina pectoris patients met the inclusion criteria and all published in Chinese, without one scientific design and high quality literature. Compared with the conventional Western medicine treatment, combined with oral administration of Rhodiola could improve the efficiency of anti-angina (OR = 2.49, 95% CI: 1.02 - 6.09). Combined with intravenous infusion of Rhodiola could also improve the efficacy of angina pectoris (OR = 4.86, 95% CI: 2.4 - 9.82). Oral administration of Rhodiola couldn't improve ECG efficacy (OR = 1.25, 95% CI: 0.67 - 2.34). Intravenous infusion of Rhodiola could improve the clinical efficacy (OR = 2.94, 95% CI: 1.61 - 5.35). Combined with the conventional treatment, intravenous infusion of Rhodiola could improve the whole blood viscosity (low and high shear rates) and inverse variance (IV) (-1.36 and -0.99, 95% CI: -1.65 - 1.07 and -1.26 - 0.71), but could not reduce serum fibrinogen and D-dimer level. The incidence rate of adverse reactions was higher than that of the conventional treatment combined with Rhodiola (OR = 0.1, 95% CI: 0.02 - 0.51).
CONCLUSIONSOn the basis of routine treatment, Rhodiola could further improve patients' symptoms. Combined with intravenous medication, Rhodiola could increase the ECG improvement rate, and reduce adverse reactions. But the methodological quality of included studies was poor, the number of samples was small, and influence factors such as the intervention period was short. This conclusion needs scientific and rational design in a larger sample, multicenter clinical trial to verify.

Chinese Medical Journal 2005;118(24):2041-2045
BACKGROUNDIn the past 5 years, new treatment materials and techniques offering a different concept in endovascular treatment have been described for cerebral arteriovenous malformations (CAVMs). The aim of this study was to assess the endovascular treatment of CAVMs by using a liquid embolic material, Onyx (Micro Therapeutics. Inc., Irvine, CA, USA).
METHODSFrom September 2003 to September 2004, Onyx was used to treat 22 patients with CAVMs. Ten AVMS were located in functional areas, 8 in deep cerebral areas, and 4 in the cerebellar hemisphere. The size of CAVMs was about 3 cm in diameter in 5 patients, 3-6 cm in 11, and more than 6 cm in 6.
RESULTSIn the 22 patients, Onyx embolization was successful. Nidus occlusion was complete in 3 patients, > 90% in 8, > 80% and < 90% in 6, and > 50% and < 80% in 5. Complications included transient neurological deficits in 2 patients, and adherence of microcatheter to the site of injection in 2.
CONCLUSIONSBeing non-adhesiveness, Onyx is a safe and satisfactory embolic material in the treatment of CAVMs. But its long-term efficacy awaits further follow-up.

OBJECTIVETo clone and identify one novel regeneration related gene H(3) (CA854305) from the differential expression genes library we had set up before.
METHODSUse the method of Northern blot to detect the different expressions of the novel gene under different situations, employ the technique of in silico cloning to scan the span of the novel gene, and analyze their sequences. Also we used reverse transcription PCR to validate the largest open reading frame.
RESULTSNorthern blotting results of H(3) (CA854305) showed that the transplanted group had more efficient and extensive expression than untreated and uninjured groups 5 days after spinal cord injury, while the untreated group had more extensive expression than uninjured group. It implied that H(3) might have some relationship with nerve regeneration after spinal cord injury. From the results of in silico cloning we got a longest contig of 1635 bp and an largest open reading frame of 542 bp from 49 to 591 bp correspondent with the Cozak rules. Reverse transcription PCR validated the largest open reading frame sequence primarily.
CONCLUSIONSWe got the sequence of novel gene H(3) which might be one of the regenerationjrelated genes. Key words:Gene library; Genes; Nerve regeneration; Spinal cord injuries.
