ObjectiveTo make sure the factors of influencing supply and utilization rehabilitation service of hospitals in Beijing.MethodsFive grade A hospitals in different districts in Beijing were surveyed to realize the condition and factors of influencing supply and utilization of rehabilitation service in polyclinics in Beijing and make sure the developing situation of departments of rehabilitation medicine, and its restriction factors in their hospitals.ResultsThe departments of rehabilitation medicine in the five hospitals had not reached to requirement of administer criterion to comprehensive hospitals, issued by Ministry of Health. The factors of influencing supply and utilization of rehabilitation service in polyclinics in Beijing included: discordant cooperation between rehabilitation section and other sections in hospitals; leaders of hospitals and clinical personnel not understanding the importance of rehabilitation early intervention much; patients and their family not understanding the special curative effect to prevent and treat disability of rehabilitation; the application for reimbursement limitation to the fee for patients to accept rehabilitation treatment and/or stay in rehabilitation section in hospitalization insurance and plan as a whole, and so on.ConclusionThe factors above limit the further development of rehabilitation service of polyclinics in Beijing. Effective measures should be taken and correlative policies should be established in order to promote the rehabilitation service in Beijing.

Objective To study the clinicopathologic features and differential diagnosis of deep angiomyxoma(DAM). Methods Seven cases of DAM were collected from 2000 to 2008. All the patients were examined by microscopy and immunohistochemistry. Results 6 patients with DAM were females and 1 was male, with median age of 48.5 years. Median maximum dimension was 5.9cm, with invasive growth pattern. The tumor cells of DAM were infantile, spindle or stellate, diffuse and nodular arrangement. A distinctive histologic feature of DAM was its vascularity. Non-arborizing, thin-wall, ectastic capillaries or more commonly, small thick-wall vessels were dispersed throughout the tumor. Mast cells and extravasated red blood cells were frequently found in the stroma, immunohistochemical study showed that 7 cases were positive for vimentin, desmin, ER and PR, 5 for CD34 and SMA, and negative for S-100 and CK. Conclusion DAM is a rare soft tumor that occurs principally in the vulval and vagina region of woman. Misdiagnosis has happened frequently. Immunohistochemical staining are helpful to diagnosis for DAM, but no significance to distinguish it.

Objective To analyze the differentially expressed genes in esophageal squamons cell carcinoma (ESCC), para-cancerous tissue (PCT) and normal esophagus tissue (NET) using oligomicroarray and to identify the target genes related to the development and progression of esophageal carcinoma. Methods The total RNAs isolated from ESCC, PCT or NET using one step Trizol method were purified and reversely transcribed into cRNAs. The cRNAs were then fluorescence labeled and hybridized with Agilent oligomicroarray (21 074 probes). The fluorescence intensity features were detected by Agilent scanner and quantified by feature extraction software. The selected candidate genes were confirmed by real time real time fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR immunohistochemistry andWestern blotting. Results ① The oligomicroarray demonstrated that there were 38 up-regulated genes and 61 down-regulated genes. ② The real time fluorescent quantitative RT-PCR revealed that five genes (CTHRC1, INHBA, SPP1 ,LUM, HRK)were more differentially expressed in up-regulated genes. Of which, CTHRC1 displayed more disparity.③ Immunohistochemistry examination showed that the higher expression of CTHRC1 (56.5 %, 26/46) was observed in ESCC. There was significantly difference in expression of CTHRC1 between patients with or without lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). ④ CTHRC1 protein was expressed in both TE-13 and Eca-109 cell lines. Conclusion CTHRC1 is probably one of the most significant biomolecules in ESCC.

OBJECTIVETo detect the expression of PSF1 (partner of Sld five 1) in colon cancer specimens, and to explore the effect of RNA interference targeting PSF1 on the proliferation of colon cancer cells and its mechanism.
METHODSExpression level of PSF1 protein in colon cancer specimens was detected by Western blot in 40 patients with colon cancer from May 2004 to December 2006. The short hairpin RNA (shRNA) plasmid targeting PSF1 was transfected into LOVO, HT-29 and HCT116 cells with liposome, then the expression level of PSF1 protein was measured by Western blot, the effect of PSF1 shRNA plasmid transfection on cell proliferation by MTT assay, anchorage-independent growth by soft agar colomy-formation assay, and PSF2, PSF3 and SLD5 mRNA expression by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.
RESULTSThe relative expression level of PSF1 protein in colon cancer tissues was 0.485±0.113, which was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal mucosa tissues (0.056±0.014, P<0.01). Western blot showed that the expression level of PSF1 protein was significantly decreased in colon cancer cells transfected with PSF1 shRNA plasmid. After PSF1 shRNA plasmid transfection, cell proliferation was significantly suppressed, the soft agar colony-forming rates of LOVO, HT-29 and HCT116 cells were significantly lower than those in control groups (P<0.05), meanwhile the expression levels of PSF2, PSF3 and SLD5 mRNA were significantly decreased (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSPSF1 is significantly up-regulated in colon cancer tissues compared with adjacent normal mucosa tissues. ShRNA plasmid targeting PSF1 can inhibit the expression of PSF1 gene, suppress the proliferation of colon cancer cells, suggesting that it may be a new therapeutic target for colon cancer.

[Objective] To study the influence on humoral immunity and ectopic endometrium by infusion of Bushen Tiaojing Decoction (BTD) with the Huoxue Sanjie Suppository (HSS) in anus. [Methods] One hundred and thirty SD rats were allocated to ten groups: normal control (A), model (B), normal dose of HSS (C), normal dose of BTD with HSS (D), 3 doses of BTD (E), 3 doses of BTD with HSS (F), 5 doses of BTD (G), 5 doses of HSS (H), 5 doses of BTD with HSS (I), and Danazol (J) groups. The endometriosis (EM) rats were modeled by endometrium implantation in all groups except those in Group A. Four weeks after the treatment, the contents of immunoglobulin (IgG、IgM、IgA), C_3, C_4 and ALT were tested, and histomorphomological analysis of the thymus, ovary, uterus, EM implants, liver and kidney were performed. [Results] Four weeks after EM implantation, the ectopic endometria were growing well, IgG and C_3 increased, but IgM decreased, and the uterus and ovary significantly enlarged. With the treatment of BTD and HSS or Danazol, the ectopic endometria were atrophied. In Groups F and G, IgG decreased; in Groups H and I, C_3 decreased, and uterus and ovary shrunk in Group I. Danazol can help to prolong the sexual cycle, while BTD and HSS can not. In all the medication groups, no obvious difference was found in ALT of the rats. [Conclusion] Oral administration of BTD with HSS can cause endometrial atrophy and improve humoral immunity in model rats.
