Hyperuricemia mice model was established with uricase inhibitor (potassium oxonate) and uric acids in serum were observed. Polydatin (5, 10, 20 mg · kg(-1)) and benzbromarone (16.7 mg · kg(-1)) were given ig for 7 d in mice. Kidney tissues were used to detect gene contents ofurate anion transporter 1 (URAT1), organic anion transporter 1 (OAT1) and organic anion transporter 3 (OAT3) by real-time-PCR. The results showed that polydatin and benzbromarone can significantly reduce uric acid in blood of hyperuricemia mice (P < 0.05), compared with the model group. URAT1, OAT1 and OAT3 contents of the kidney in hyperuricemia mice changed significantly (P < 0.05), compared with the blank group. Polydatin can significantly inhibit the changing trends in these genes induced by potassium oxonate in a dose-dependent manner, the difference was significant (P < 0.05), compared with the model group. Those indicated that polysatin could reduce the level of the serum uric acid through promoting uric acid excretion.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the relationship between the pulse pressure (PP) and atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS) in middle-age and eldery paients with hyperensio, so as to provide the basis for the diagnosis and treatment of ARAS.
METHODSWe tetro spectively analyzed the data of 257 patients with hypertension undergoing renal arteriography at General Hospital of PLA between 2009 and 2014. Their mean age was (64.09 +/- 7.81) years. According the results of arteriography, they were divided into two groups: ARAS group (n = 145), and non-ARAS group (n = 112). Their PP and multinomial clinical indexes with ARAS were statistically analyzed.
RESULTSSingle factor correlation and Logisitic analysis showed that age, PP, serum creatinine (SCr) levels, and new onset of hypertension after 50 years of age were strongly positively related to ARAS. The age and PP and SCr was a team of continuous variable.
CONCLUSIONPP was the first new risk factor of ARAS in middile-aged and elderly patients with hypertension. It is suggested that PP may be a early predictive indicator and a new therapeutic target for ARAS.

Objective ToestimatetheprevalenceofPanton-Valentineleukocidin (PVL)genes and antimicrobial resistance in methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA)isolateds from outpatients with skin and soft-tissue infections (SSTIs)in Wuhan city. Methods A total of 182 MSSA isolates were collected from outpatients with SSTIs in 5 different hospitals in Wuhan city between 2011 and 2013. The Kirby-Bauer′s disk diffusion method was used to evaluate antimicrobial susceptibility of the MSSA isolates, and multiplex PCR was performed to detect mecA and PVL genes in these isolates. Results Of the 182 MSSA isolates, 65 (35.71%)carried PVL genes. The positive rate of PVL genes was significantly different among patients with different diseases (χ2 = 49.76, P = 0.00), and relatively higher in patients with furuncles/carbuncles(7/7), folliculitis(3/3), abscesses(55.53%, 30/57)or impetigo(2/4). The age of patients with PVL-positive MSSA infection was significantly younger than that with PVL-negative MSSA infection (35.40 ± 19.31 years vs. 43.21 ± 20.75 years,t = 2.50, P = 0.01). Among 65 PVL-positive MSSA isolates, the rate of resistance to clindamycin was highest (87.69%), followed by that to penicillin(53.85%)and erythromycin(41.54%). The frequency of resistance to clindamycin was highest in 117 PVL-negative MSSA isolates, followed by that to penicillin (20.51%)and ampicillin (12.82%). Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the rate of resistance to penicillin(χ2 = 21.19), ampicillin(χ2 = 97.97), doxycycline(χ2 =11.61), ciprofloxacin(χ 2 = 8.07), erythromycin(χ 2 = 25.04)and gentamicin(χ 2 = 10.86)in PVL-positive MSSA isolates compared with PVL-negative MSSA isolates (all P < 0.05). Conclusions MSSA isolates from outpatients with SSTIs in Wuhan city are resistant to most β-lactam antibiotics. Flucloxacillin, compound sulfamethoxazole tablets or doxycycline is recommended for empirical treatment of PVL-positive MSSA infections.

Objective To investigate the effect of auricular acupuncture therapy (AAT) and standardized acupoints on sleep parameters among people with insomnia. Methods A single-blind,randomized pilot study where the treatment group AAT on active points and the control group received AAT on sham points during a 4-week treatment period. Participants were recruited from the Acupuncture Outpatient Clinics in the General Hospital of People' s Liberation Army. In all, 125 patients were included in the study, with 63 in treatment group and 62 in control group. Sleep parameters were obtained by using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Results (1)Significant improvement in the PSQI total score and seven components score including sleep quality, time on falling asleep, sleeping time, efficiency and disorder of sleep, hypnotic and daytime functional disorder after treatment in both treatment group and control group (P<0.01). (2) After treatment, there was a statistically significant difference seen in the PSQI total score and six components score (P<0.01) except for hypnotic between the two groups. There were statistically significant differences in the rank differential value of total score and seven components of two groups (P<0.01). (3) There were statistically significant differences in the mean rank of PSQI seven components using Mann-Whitney test (P<0.01). Conclusion Evidence was found to support the hypothesis that AAT played an effective role in improving the quantity and quality of sleep in those subjects with insomnia. A standardized AAT might help the treatment of insomnia, especially when combined with other treatments as psychological and behavioral therapies.
