Journal of Zhejiang University. Science. B 2005;6(2):96-99
A solution with different Cu supply levels was cultured to investigate gama-aminobutyric acid (GABA) accumulation in Elsholtzia splendens, a native Chinese Cu-tolerant and accumulating plant species. Increasing Cu from 0.25 to 500 micromol/L significantly enhanced levels of GABA and histidine (His), but considerably decreased levels of aspartate (Asp) and glutamate (Glu) in the leaves. The leaf Asp level negatively correlated with leaf Cu level, while leaf GABA level positively correlated with leaf Cu level. The leaf Glu level negatively correlated with leaf GABA level in Elsholtzia splendens. The depletion of leaf Glu may be related to the enhanced synthesis of leaf GABA under Cu stress.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2015;14(6):549-552
The higher medical education in China starts late and needs further exploration and improvement. While in Germany,it is elite education with a long history.Compared with China,in curriculum setting,Sociology,Medical health security,Humanities and Social Sciences and Organ system classification courses are more emphasized, and in terms of degree,it only has Doctor degree but with higher quality in Germany.Higher medical education in China will also take the path of the elite education. We can learn from the German medical education development experience and pay attention to solving the lack of the curriculum by supplementing social medicine and medical health security, increase the autonomy of the instructors in the training process, strengthen the medical students' social responsibility, and improve the quality of higher medical education in China.

Objective To investigate the effect ot ionizing radiation (IR) on the expressions of HMGB1 in the radiation-sensitive and radiation-resistant human cervical cancer cells and to analysis the role of HMGB1 in the regulation of radiosensitivity. Methods Human cervical cancer cells HeLa and its radioresistant strain HeLaR cells were irradiated with different doses of X-rays.The cells were collected at different time points after irradiation. The expressions of protein and mRNA of HMGB1 were detected by Western blot and real-time quantitative PCR.Results At the protein level, the expression of HMGB1 in HeLaR cells was significantly reduced at 6-36 h after 2,5 and 10 Gy X-ray irradiation (t =3.574-9.754,P <0.05),and then it was recovered to the control level at 48 h after IR.On the contrary, the expression of HMGB1 in HeLa cells was significantly increased at 6,12,48 h after 2 Gy IR (t =3.945-4.864,P<0.05),at 6,36,48hafter5 GyIR (t=-2.875-3.295,P<0.05),and at 36,48 h after 10 Gy IR (t =-4.480,-4.517,P < 0.05).At mRNA level, the trend of HMGB1 expression alteration was consistent with that of protein expression. Conclusions The changes of HMGB1 expression can be differently induced by X-rays in the human cervical cancer radiation-sensitivity cells and radiation-resistant cells.HMGB1 may be involved in the radioresistance of human cervical cancer.

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2003;0(04):-
The application and expanding of nasal endoscopic surgery,an epoch-making transform of rhinology, have a very close associations with medical imaging, which includes anatomy photograph, conceptual diagram, radiological imaging, nasal endoscopic image display system, operation photographic recording and computer assisted instruction courseware, etc. It is important to collect the medical imaging through various means and set up medical imaging resources library for nasal endoscopic surgery teaching.

Rhinosinusitis is a popular disease in otorhinolaryngology.A guideline document,European position paper on rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps (EPOS) developed on the basis of evidencebased medicine was used in clinical teaching.Theoretical teaching was promoted by reading and understanding EPOS.Meanwhile,EPOS was used in clinical practices of preclinical ward round, case analysis and independent bed charge, which laid a solid foundation to help otorhinolaryngology postgraduates fully grasp the theoretical knowledge of rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps, improve clinical practice abilities and develop standardized philosophy of diagnosis and treatment finally.

Objective To evaluate the molluscicidal effect and the using value of qiangluocide powder by dusting in the fields. Methods The two different ways of dusting with qiangluocide and spraying with luomiecide for controlling snails were compared in the fields, and the cost-effectiveness was analysed. Results The corrected mortalities and the reduced rates for density of snails were 88.48%, 96.26%, 96.96%, 95.67%, and 87.58%, 95.40%, 96.14%, 96.67%, respectively, on the marshland in Longtan, Nanjing, 73. 65% , 98. 31% , 99. 22% , 99. 26% and 69. 30% , 98.14%, 98.84%, 98. 60% , respectively, on the marshland in Yizheng, Yangzhou, on 1 d, 3d, 7 d, 15 d after dusting with qiangliocide power; and those on 1d, 3d, 7d, 15d after the spraying with luomiecide were 69.15%, 88.01%, 86.46%, 85.56% and 75.27%, 84.99%, 87.50%, 87.96% on the marshland in Longtan, Nanjing, 18.70%, 63.11%, 1.25%, 12.60% and 34. 88% , 89. 02% , 45.37% , 46. 59% , respectively, on the marshland in Yizheng, Yangzhou. The st of dusting with qiangluocide powder was 0. 20 yuan/m2, and that of spraying with luomiecide as 0. 21 yuan/m2 for snail control in the fields. The costs of reduced one percentage for the cor rected mortalities and the density of snail were 6. 27-10. 07 yuan and 6. 21-10. 14 yuan, respectively, on 15 d after dusting with qiangluocide power and those on 15 d after spraying with luomiecide were 7. 36-83. 33 yuan and 7. 16-22. 54 yuan , respectively. Conclusion The dusting with qiangluocide powder is a promising new formulation, which is suitable for the areas without water resource and possessed of high effectiveness against snails. The method ofdusting with qian-gluocide powder for controlling snails is simple, convenient, cheap and easy to be carried out for the inspection and quality control.

Objective To study the influence of arsenic exposure on menstruation. Methods A cluster sampling method was applied to select the subjects of women aged 10 to 65 from Linhe,Hangjinhouqi and Wuyuan counties in Inner Mongolia in 2004.Drinking water samples were collected to detect arsenic levels, and menstrual related situation was surveyed. The subjects were divided into four groups according to drinking water arsenic concentration:control(≤0.01 mg/L),low(> 0.01-0.10 mg/L),moderate(> 0.10-0.20 mg/L) and high(> 0.20mag/L).Results A total of 602 women were surveyed. There were 83 subjects exposed to arsenic before menarche and their menarche age was (14.37 ± 1.54) years old. There were 90 people exposed to arsenic before menopause and the menopause age was (48.13-0.41) years old.The age of menarche and menopause were positively related to the years of arsenic exposure, and correlation coefficients were 0.268 and 0.278 (all P < 0.05).Compared to control group(14.0%,16/112),menstrual abnormality rate decreased in low(12.1%,21/173) and high dose groups(10.2%,19/186),while increased in the moderate dose group(18.2%,16/88),but the differences were not statistically significant(x2 =3.664,P > 0.05).Conclusions Long-term arsenic exposure delays the menarche and menopause age, suggesting that arsenic has certain endocrine disruption or estrogen-like effects.
