Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):3-5
The study involved 12 cases with intestinal smooth muscle tumor underwent operation at Viet Duc Hospital from 1990 to 1995. Findings: intestinal smooth muscle tumor occupied about 16% of intestinal malignant tumors. Most of cases were not diagnosed before surgery. Common clinical signs are abdominal pain, digestive troubles and weigh loss. The tumor can be touched by hand. Most of patients were removed the tumor and the related intestinal segment. Post-operation, there was not death or dehiscence of the anastomosis. Rate of infection is 8.3%. There were not any patients received chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

2.Intestinal transplantation: history and technique
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):15-19
Because of fail of the first 7 cases of the intestinal transplantation in 1964, the intestinal transplantation was not regarded. Until 1985, the intestinal transplantation has been returned applied. The technique includes 2 phases: the collection and preservation of the intestine from donor and transplantation of this intestine. The resource of the intestine can be the intestine of someone that his (her) brain was dead or of the healthy people. The technique comprises the vascular transplantation and the establishment of the digestive system.

This study introduced the diagnosis, prognosis and the treatment of lesion that causes the digestive hemorrhage and peutzjeghers syndrome. The Diculafoy lesion commonly found in the stomach, esophagus, duodenum, intestine, large intestine and rectum with congenital cause. The treatment involved the surgery and endoscopic intervention. 4.Establishing the draft for studying the roles of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and herb (Panax pseudo-ginseng) for some intestinal carcinomas (gastric, hepatic and pancreatic carcinoma) in the Intestinal Surgical Department of ViÖt §øc Hospital
Journal of Practical Medicine 1998;351(6):35-37
The minimal condition for chemotherapy is the malignant nature of tumor must be identified exactly, the clinical criteria must be established adequately and accurately, contraindications should be excluded, the following-up factors were enough and the cooperation of patients should be available. In this clinical trial, patients were divided randomly into 3 groups. Group 1 received surgery alone. Group 2 received surgery plus 5FU. Groups 3 received surgery plus 5FU and false ginseng. Result: The 5-year survival rate increased more than 15% for groups received post-operative adjunctive therapy. The 5-year survival in adjunctive therapy groups is 45%.

5.Ischiorectal endometria - a rare ischiorectal lesion
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;407(1):33-35
A female patient with 33 ages suffered the ischiorectal lesion that experienced incision without removal of lesion. The features suggested the ischiorectal endometria included solid organ caused pain in the ischiorectal region, no fever, increased pain and bigger organ during menstruation. The total removal operation of this organ and microscopic tests was carried out to treat and affirm the ischiorectal endometria

It is reported a rare case of 35-year female patient with a myxoma in right ischiorectal hole. The tumor was removed surgically in Viet Duc Hospital in August 21th, 1995. Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):42-46
A restrospective study on 124 patients with the primary liver cancer in Viet duc hospital during 1992-1996 has shown that the post operative mortality rate was 11,3%, mainly in group of patients with the cirrhosis received the hepatic arterial ligation. The duration of postoperative average survival was 9,3 months, 9,4% patients had the survival duration of 23 months, and 1,9% patients had the survival duration of 42 months. 80% patients were dead within 6 month after surgery.

8.Follow-up 197 cases with non-operated primary hepatocarcinoma were diagnosed in Viet Duc Hospital between 1992 - 1996
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):2-6
197 cases with primary hepatocarcinoma admitted to Viet Duc Hospital between January 1992 to December 1996 were involved in this retrospective study. Mean age of patients was 45.9. Male to female ratio was 3 to 1. Among these, time of death was known exactly in 90 patients. Results showed that the mean time of survival was 3.96 months, ranged 1 to 12 months. Time of survival was longer in the operable group compared with the non-operable group. Other factors such as age, gender, red and white cell counts, protein level in serum and number of liver tumors did not affect to survival of patients. Treating by traditional medicines can increase the time of survival. Mean bedridden time before death was 19.3 days, ranged from 1 to 180 days. Symptoms observed commonly before death were wasting, abdominal bloating, severe pain, breathing difficulty, yellow skin, dark-colour stool, coma and high fever

10.Preparation and balance for liver transplantation in the Republic of France
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):16-20
There are 4 main issues in preparation for liver transplantation: 1) receiver, included pre-transplantation balance; 2) donor; 3) human resource and technique; 4) establishing the plan for hospitalization and post-transplantation monitoring. In France, liver transplantation has longed and improved the quality of life for several patients. Livers for transplantation were gathered from cadaver and distributed restrictedly according to law that based on human principle to serve the people health. Legal and economic factors give a favour condition for preparing the liver transplantation
