BACKGROUND: Methyl cobalamin, a derivative of vitamin B12, .can promote the metabolism of nucleic acid protein, axoplasmic transport and axonal regeneration.OBJECTIVE: To observe the role of target muscular injection of methyl cobalamin ofdifferent dosages in the regeneration of peripheral nerve injury in rats.DESIGN: A randomized and controlled animal experiment.SETTING: Changzhou Second People's Hospital affiliated to Nanjing Medical University.MATERIALS: The experiment was carried out in March 2003. Thirty healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups with 10 rats in each group: high-dosage group, low-dosage group and blank control group.METHODS: All the rats were made into models of sciatic nerve injury by epineural suture immediately after transection of left sciatic nerve. Rats in high- and low- dosage groups were injected with methyl cobalamin of 300and 100 μg/kg per day respectively, and those in blank control group were injected with 1 mL normal saline of the same volume, and target muscular injection was given once a day postoperatively. At postoperative 4 and 8weeks, 5 rats were killed at one time; the wet mass of left triceps surae muscle was measured. Morphological observation of sciatic nerve under light and electron microscopes and imaging analysis were made as the detected indexes to analyze the effect of methyl cobalamin of different dosages on sciatic nerve injury in rats.sciatic nerve myelin sheath at postoperative week 8.parison of the wet mass of triceps surae muscle at postoperative 4 weeks: It was higher in high-dosage group than in low-dosage group and blank control group [(1.367±0.012) g, (1.164±0.011) g, (0.950±0.009) g, P < 0.05].week 8: It washigher in high-dosage group than in low-dosage group and blank control group [(2.205±0.015), (1.611±0.013), (1.230±0.014) g, P < 0.05].weeks postoperatively: It was obviously higher in high-dosage group than in low-dosage group and blank control group [(13.30±1.167), (9.453±1.233),atic nerve myelin sheath at 8 weeks postoperatively: It was thicker in highdosage group than in low-dosage group and blank control group [(1.145±0.108),(0.806±0.065), (0.560±0.045) mm, P < 0.05].CONCLUSION: Target muscular injection of methyl cobalamin can promote the regeneration of peripheral nerve, and methyl cobalamin of high dosage can better play its role in nourishing injured nerve.
3.Regulatory mechanisms of PTEN
Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(07):-
PTEN(Phosphatase and Tensin Homology deleted from Chromosome ten),a putative antioncogene, encodes a PTEN protein that has a dual specificity phosphatase activity with both protein phosphatase and lipid phosphatase, which regulates a variety of molecules through inhibiting the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.Recently, some scholars dedicate to the modulation of PTEN,which demonstrates that PTEN can be regulated by multiple factors at the level of gene and protein. This review briefly summarizes up-to-date information about the modulation of PTEN and its mechanisms.
4.Analysis on problems in patent management in hospitals and countermeasures
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2010;23(3):174-176,200
Patent competition has become one of the key issues of global competitions in economy, science and technology. In hospitals, the patent management strategy provides guidance for and impels knowledge innovation. However, hospital management is quite weak in China, which may have been caused by various reasons, such as the over enthusiasm for published paper and the technological achievement contrasted with negligence in patent application and exploitation. In the paper, countermeasures are proposed, which include the whole process management during the scientific research, setting up detail targets and standard procedures for patent management, training patent management staff, et al.
5.The variation of ADC values and pathological change in non-injured side tissues of traumatic brain injury of rat
Journal of Practical Radiology 2014;(6):1026-1029,1034
Objective This study was designed to investigate the correlation between the apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)value and pathological change of the non-injured side brain tissue of traumatic brain injury(TBI)of rat. Methods Sixty healthy adult Wist-ar rats were randomly divided into two groups:the control or TBI groups. The TBI group was divided into five sub-groups according to the different time intervals:1,3,6,12,24 h(n = 10).The animal brain of each group was scanned with MR-DWI,and the ADC value of damaged areas and contralateral non-damaged areas were measured. After that the brains were taken out at different time points after TBI.The cerebral edema and blood-brain barrier(BBB)changes in structure were examined with an optical micros-copy and transmission electron microscopy, and the IgG content in the same tissues were determined by means of immunohistochem-istry.The data was analyzed with SPSS 13.0 statistical software. Results There was no signal abnormality on MR-DWI and tissue structure in control group, and the IgG stain was negative. In the contralateral non-damaged areas of TBI group, pathological obser-vation revealed no variation at 1 h after TBI,and the IgG stain was also negative.Cellular edema was shown at 3 h and the IgG stain was slight positive. The cellular edema aggravated with time and angioedema appeared at 6 h.IgG stain was shown significantly posi-tive.At 12~24 h,cellular edema kept increasing more severe, however angioedema had a trend to mitigated along with time,IgG stain became slight and the proliferation of glial cells could observed.Compared with control group, the ADC values of the contralat-eral non-damaged areas in each group showed no significant difference (P >0.05).However,in the damaged areas of each group, angioedema appeared at 1 h and gradually aggravated, cellular edema occurred at 3 h,Both of them were aggravated with time. ADC values increased at 1 h,and then decreased until 6 h,then followed a climbing up to 24 h,showed as a “V”-shaped.Con-clusion When contused on one side brain, the contralateral non-inj ured side tissue also has pathological changes that occurs later than those on the inj ured side.Cellular edema of the tissues ap-peares first and is followed by angioedema, which lessens over time..There is no significant difference of ADC values between con-tralateral side of TBI groups and control group(P >0.05),which reveals a “pseudo-normal”phenomenon.
6.EEG feature extraction based on quantum particle swarm optimizer and independent component analysis.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(3):502-505
Feature extraction is a very crucial step in P300-based brain-computer interface (BCI) and independent component analysis (ICA) is a suitable P300 feature extraction method. But at present the convergence performance of the general ICA iteration methods are not very satisfactory. In this paper, a method based on quantum particle swarm optimizer (QPSO) algorithm and ICA technique is put forward for P300 extraction. In this method, quantum computing is used to impel ICA iteration to globally converge faster. It achieved the purpose of extracting P300 rapidly and efficiently. The method was tested on two public datasets of BCI Competition II and III, and a simple linear classifier was employed to classify the extracted P300 features. The recognition accuracy reached 94.4% with 15 times averaged. The results showed that the proposed method could extract P300 rapidly and the extraction effect did not reduce. It provides an experimental basis for further study of real-time BCI system.

7.Thinking of improving management of hospital medical periodicals
Chinese Journal of Medical Science Research Management 2009;22(4):247-249
The management of hospital medical periodicals is now facing many realistic problems such as management system of editorial department, ability of editorial team, quality of articles and outside living environment. Co-publishing periodicals with pharmaceutical enterprises, with foreign publications and innovating publishing model of periodicals have been adopted by some domestic hospitals. By studying cases of periodical management innovation, and summing up the latest domestic point of view on medical periodical management, this paper held the view that the hospital medical periodicals management should be grouped into the framework of hospital scientific research management. Basically, the hospital should focus on solving the problem of management system in priority;developing in a way of specialization, collectivization and brand-orientation;establishing of a high-level editorial team;strengthening international communication and publishing periodicals according to international rules.

10.Clinical analysis of incomplete Beh et′s disease
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2003;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the clinical diagnosis and treatment of incomplete Beh et′s disease. Methods The clinical data of 52 patients (83 eyes ) with incomplete Beh et′s disease were retrospectively analysed. Visual acuity and results of examination of slit-lamp microscope, ocular fundus, and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) were observed and analysed. All of patients were treated by local cycloplegic, systemic treatment with glucocorticoid and cytoxan. The followed-up period was 1 year or more. Results Recurrent hypopyon or empyema of anterior chamber angle, and hyperaemia of optic papilla was found in 54 and 41 eyes, respectively. The results of FFA showed that abnormal changes were found in all of the eyes. There was vascular leakage and staining of optic papilla at the early and late stage in 83 eyes (100%), diffuse leakage of retinal capillary vessel in 83 eyes (100%), and leakage of affected branch of retinal vessel and staining of the vascular wall at the late stage in 71 eyes (85.54%).After the treatment, the disease recovered completely in 20 patients (26 eyes), recovered partly in 20 (33 eyes), and alleviated in 12 (24 eyes). No patients suffered from hypopyon or empyema of anterior chamber angle and hyperemia of optic papilla. None of the patients had oral ulcer, genital ulcer or arthritis until the last day of the follow-up. Conclusions Recurrent hypopyon, papillitis, and retinal vasculitis were the main clinical manifestations of incomplete Beh et′s disease. FFA redounds to the diagnosis of the disease and timely application of cycloplegic and systemic application of glucocorticoid and cytoxan may inhibit the aggravation of the disease effectively.
