1.Two Cases of Squamous Cell Carcionoma of Upper Eyelid.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1968;9(2_3):27-30
The authors present 2 cases of squamous cell carcinoma which occurred primarily in the eyelid. One is a 33-year-old Korean female who had the carcinoma in the right upper palpebral Conjunctiva, and the other is a 75 year-old Korean female who had the carcinoma at the margin of the left upper eyelid. These two cases were more likely to be confused with chalasion and were confirmed to be squamous cell carcinoma by the gistopathological examination.

4.Lichen Planopilaris.

Annals of Dermatology 1989;1(1):51-54
A 26-year-old Korean woman had a 5 month history of pruritic, keratotic papules on the scalp, trunk, and pubic area, which were accompanied by diffuse hair loss from the scalp, eyebrows and pubic area. She also had flat-topped violaceous papules on the scalp and pubic area, and white lace-like striae on the oral mucous and hard palate. Histopathologic study of the progressive stages of the disease revealed dilated follicles filled with horny material, hyperkeratosis, hypergranulosis and hydropic degeneration of the basal cell layer. Throughout the entire subepidermal region, there was an intense bandlike infiltration of mononuclear cells, which were most prominent at the lower pole of the hair follicles. The late stage of the disorder showed atrophy of the epidermis and atrophy of the hair follicles with fibrotic tracts, and mild mononuclear infiltrate at the sites of the former hair follicles. This is the first recorded case, to the best of cur knowledge, in Korea.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1985;23(3):378-381
In adrenal insufficiency, recognition of the disease in its earlier phases may present a real challenge. The disease, if unrecognized and untreated, carries an almost uniformly poor and frequently fatal prognosis. We report a rare case of congenital adrenal aplasia accompanied by hyperpigmentation on the whole body surface. The diagnosis was confirmed by ACTH stimulation test and autopsy findings.

6.Accessory Axillary Breast Tissue.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(3):460-463
We have experienced a case of the more unusual form of supernumerary breast tissue which is characterized by the presence of aberrant gland tissue alone. The case was a 30-year-old female patient in puerperium with bilateral axillary masses of seven years duration. Gentle pressure over the right-sided one caused milk to exude from a skin pore. Histopathologic findings of the tumors revealed the lobules of the breast forming islands of glandular tissue.

7.Two Cases of Lichen Planus on the Lip.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(3):391-395
Lichen planus is rare in Korea and localized lichen planus on the lip without other skin lesions is even rarer. A 77-year-old man has oozing and crusting patches und somewhat ulceration surrounded by whitish reticular elements on violaceous base on both lips with burning sensation and pain. A 63-year-old man has well demarcated violaceous white reticular patches on the lower lip, buccal mucosa, glans penis and coronal sulcus. Clinical and histopathological studies of two cases showed typical features of lichen planus. They were treated with systemic and topical corticosteroids and showed much improvement.

8.Effects of pH Differences on the Skin Moisturizing Capacity of Natural Moisturzing Factors.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1988;26(1):10-16
The flexibility of surface layer of skin is largely dependent upon the layer's water content. This, in turn, depends primarily on the quantity of water soluble hygroscopic and surface active msterials within the straturn corneum, often known as the natural moisturizing fsctors(NMF). It consist of amino acid, lactic acid, pyrrolidone carboxylic acid and inorganic salts etc.. Some of these components are greatly influenced by hydrogen ion content and ionic form of them were found to be highly hygroscopic. In this experiment, sunburn exfoliated human stratum corneum and pig epidermis separated by 2N-NaBr were used as in vitro test. These tissues were so treated to hsve each pH value (3, 5, 7, 9) and their water holding capacity and hygroscopicity were measured by gravimetric method. The results are summarized as follows : 1, Water holding capactiy of sunburn exfoliated human skin showed significant increase at pH 5 (p<0.1), 7 (p<0.01), 9 (p<0.01) compared to pH 3, and increase in pH 7 (p<0.1), 9 (p<0.05) compared to pH 5 in lactic acid. In pig epidermis, there was significant increase at pH 5 (p<0.05), 7 (p<0.01), 9 (p<0.05) cornpared to pH 3 in lactic acid. 2. Hygroscopicity of pig epidermis showed significant increase at pH 5 (p<0.05), 7 (p<0.1), 9 (p<0.05) in lactic acid and at pH 5

Annals of Dermatology 1989;1(2):87-90
A 48-year-old male patient had white to ivory colored patches on brown colored bases over the right side of his back for 8 years without accompanying pruritus or pain. Six months prior to the onset of his skin eruption, he received acupuncture for the relief of right sided back pain for 1 month. Histopathologic examination of the white patches showed follicular plugging, epidermal atrophy, focal hydropic degeneration of basal cells, lymphedema of papillary dermis, thickened homogenization of collagen fibers; consistent with findings previously reported in lichen sclerosus et atrophicus. We report this case to document the occurence in an acupuncture site and stress the unusual clinical manifestation of a zosteriform distribution.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(5):703-707
We present a case of Kyrle's disease. The pstient was a 48-year-old male who had been undergoing hemodialysis for 6 years due to chronic renal failure caused by polycystic kidney. The lesions were hyperkeratotic papules on the lower legs and abdomen witb 3 months' duration. Histopathologically, the epidermis showed central invsgination filled with heavy keratotic, partly parakeratotic plug, basophilic debris and neutrophils. There were a few premature keratinized cells below the parakeratotic plugs and complete epidermal perforation was present.
