1.An initial study on serum CA125 in diagnosis to lung cancer
China Oncology 2001;0(02):-
35u/ml as positive limit, the sensitivity of CA125 for diagnosis of lung cancer is 53.6%. There was no significant difference between stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ lung cancer and benign, healthy groups, but the level of serum CA125 of stageⅢ?Ⅳ was higher than control groups. Thirty eight of forty lung cancer patients with higher CA125 level dropped to normal after therapy. Conclusions:Serum CA125 has high diagnosis value in lung cancer. It can be a vital index in lung cancer staging and prognosis.

Objective To investigate the radiological characteristics and the relationships between the parameters by X?ray and direct magnetic resonance arthrography (dMRA) in non?completely dislocated dysplasia hips. Methods We retro?spectively reviewed patients (above 13 years old) with dysplasia hips from August 2009 to August 2012. These patients were classi?fied as Hartofilakidis typeⅠand typeⅡ. 188 patients (274 hips) involved 28 males (30 hips) and 160 females (244 hips), average aged 27.3 years (range 13-47 years). Standard pelvic A?P, bilateral 65° oblique X?rays, and dMRA were conducted in each pa?tient. Lateral central?edge angle (LCE), anterior central?edge angle (ACE), femoral neck?shaft angle (FNSA), and tonnis acetabu?lar index (AI) angle were measured based on the X?ray. The dysplasia hips were classified into 4 grades (GradeⅠ:CE 11°-20° , GradeⅡ:CE 1°-10°, GradeⅢ:CE-9°-0°, and GradeⅣ:CE≤-10°). Femoral neck anteversion angle (FNA), labral tear, labral inversion, and labral cyst was observed on dMRA films. Variance analysis and rank correlation were applied to find the relation?ship between CE grades and the relevant parameters by using SPSS 19.0. Results LCE has negative correlation with AI and grade of osteoarthritis, and has positive correlation with age, ACE. However, there was no relationship between FNSA and FNA. There was significantly different in Shenton's line, labral tear, labral inversion, cartilage lesion, among different grade of LCE. Conclusion LCE is an important parameter used in evaluating for dysplasia hips without complete dislocation. LCE can reflect age of onset, ACE, AI angle and degree of joint damages. Evaluation for the severity of non?completely dislocated dysplasia hips can be conducted according to grades of CE.

Objective To estimate clinical application of multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) for rapid prenatal detection of aneuploid abnormalities in amniotic fluid. Methods Totally 1229 amniotic fluid samples were collected from the pregnant women receving prenatal diagnosis for chromosomal abnormalities in Prenatal Diagnosis Center of Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital from October 2009 to December 2010.All the samples were investigated independently with both MLPA and G-band karyotyping to detect aneuploidies of chromosomes X,Y,13,18 and 21.A comparison was followed the results acquired from two methods for evaluation of sensitivity and specificity of MLPA.ResultsThirtyeight aneuploidies were detected by G-band karyotyping,in which 34 were nonmosaic aneuploidies and 4were mosaic aneuploidies.MLPA and G-band karyotyping had consistent results in detecting the nonmosaic aneuploidies of chromosomes X,Y,13,18 and 21. Among 4 mosaic aneuploidies detected by G-band karyotyping,2 were confirmed by MLPA independently. Conclusions The sensitivity and specificity of MLPA in detecting the nonmosaic aneuploidies of chromosomes X,Y,13,18 and 21 were clinically acceptable.MLPA provides an efficient, reliable method for rapid detection of aneuploidies.

Objective To report the clinical features and inwardly rectifying potassium channel 18 (KCNJ18) gene mutation in a group of patients with thyrotoxic periodic paralysis (TTP).Methods Fiftyseven TTP cases (55 male and 2 female) were collected in our clinic from July 2002 to October 2011.The KCNJ18 gene was directly sequenced in 57 TTP patients and 50 health Chinese controls through the nested PCR.According to the results of gene screening, the clinical features of KCNJ18 patients and non-KCNJ18 patients were retrospectively summarized and analyzed. Results In 4 male patients with TPP,we found 3 novel heterogeneous mutations (p.Q126X,p.K360T,p.E388K) and 1 reported mutation (p.A200P) in the KCNJ18 gene. The age of onset was 19-25 years old,and the duration ranged from 2 to 8 hours. The 4 patients all presented severe muscle weakness. The attacks of muscle weakness preceded overt symptoms of hyperthyroidism in the 4 patients. Three patients showed recurrent weakness during the 13-28 months follow-up,while the episodic weakness never appeared when patients got euthyroid. Conclusions The mutations in the KCNJ18 gene are responsible for a part of Chinese patients with TPP.The patients with KCNJ18 mutations have a shorter disease course, severer manifestation, and higher prevalence of recurrence as compared with those TPP patients without KCNJ18 mutations.
