Endostatin(ES), the C-terminal fragment of collagen XVIII, is a potent angiogenesis inhibitor. At present, there are a large number of research papers on ES. It has already been on clinical stage Ⅱ and been widely used in inhibition of neovascularization(NV). However, how to improve the bioactivity of ES is still a matter of ongoing discussion. The objective of this review is to elucidate the relationship between the modified ES and ocular neovascualrization, and to discuss the superiority based on the structure modification. The structure can be changed either by covalent modification or by genetical mutation. It is proposed that the secondary structral ES enhance the anti-angiogenic activity. Studies on modified ES also shed light on our understanding of the molecular action mechanisms of ES. Modified ES may be exploited as a new angiogenesis inhibitor for therapeutic applica-tions, in substitution of the native ES. Activity

Journal of Practical Stomatology 1996;0(02):-
Objective:To analyze genetic diversity of Fluconazole(FLZ)-resistant and -susceptible Candida albicans(C. albicans) strains isolated from patients with Sjgren's Syndrome (SS). Methods:30 C.albicans strains were isolated from the patients with SS and identified using standard criteria. Microdilution method was performed to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of C.albicans to FLZ. A composite genotype was generated for each strain through random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) using three different primers, RSD10, RSD11 and RSD12. Results:The DNA fingerprinting profiles indicated genetic diversity amongst both the FLZ-resistant as well as -susceptible isolates, and no specific features emerged distinguishing the drug-resistant and -susceptible groups. Conclusion:These observations cast doubt on the theory of a clonal origin of FLZ-resistant C. albicans isolates. The emergence of FLZ resistance in SS patients may be associated with continuous exposure to FLZ.

OBJECTIVEObserve and analyze the informations of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), in order to provide reference for clinical treatment.
METHODSelect patients with CHD in diagnosis of the first place in 17 hospitals, drug informations of these patients were analyzed using frequency method and association rules.
RESULTIn 84 697 patients, there were 47 564 males and 32 882 females. The median age was 71 years old, 76 172 patients have medicine records, including 278 kinds of western medicine and 331 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine. Aspirin was the most common used western medicine (51 132 patients, 67.08%), followed by isosorbide dinitrate, clopidogrel etc. The most common used traditional Chinese medicine was danhong injection, followed by shuxuetong injection. After classified the drugs, at the forefront of western medicine were antiplatelet drugs, nitrates drugs, statins, beta blockers, calcium antagonists, ACEI; the most used in traditional Chinese medicine was injection of blood-activating and stasis-resolving, followed by oral preparations of blood-activating and stasis-resolving medicine, Fuzheng class oral medicine, purgation medicine etc. After association rules, combination therapy among western medicine was the most common, combination of western medicine with blood-activating and stasis-resolving was very commonly, especially antiplatelet drugs and nitrates drugs.
CONCLUSIONWestern medicine in the treatment of patients with CHD was in accordance with the guidelines recommend, but with the lower utilization rate. Traditional Chinese medicine has become an important method for the treatment of CHD, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine treatment in patients with CHD.

Objective To explore the effect and mechanism of L-arginine on fetal growth restriction by observing the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in placenta. Methods Sixty patients with FGR were chosen, among which 30 cases who were treated with conventional ways were as convention group, and the other 30 cases who were treated with L-arginine were as L-arginine group. The birth weight and perinatal fetus outcome were detected. The central tissue of placenta got within 10 min after delivery were fixed by 100 g/L formaldehyde and embed by pa-raffin wax to observe the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax using immunohistochemistry.SPSS 11.5 software was used to analyze the data. Results Compared with convention group, the birth weight of L-arginine group was higher(P

International Eye Science 2011;11(1):4-5
To describe a modified simple iris suture for pupillary dilation technique during vitrectomy in cases with a miotic pupil.Four translimbal incisions were created with a sharp straight blade at 1:30,10:30,4:30,and 7:30 o'clock, respectively. The straight needle of 10-0 polypropylene suture and a Sinskey IOL hook was used to displace the pupillary margin toward the limbus. In 3 cases, four sutures caused a 6-mm to 9-mm square-shaped pupil, and the pupil was allowed to return to a smaller size at the end of the operation. It is simple and may reduce postoperative complications.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(11):-
Objective:The time-dependent changes of hypoxia-inducible factor-1? (HIF-1?) expression induced by CoCl_(2 ) treatment and the effects of genistein on the level of HIF-1? expression in human retinal pigment epithelium cells were studied. Methods:Using a confocal scanning laser microscope coupled to a computer, HIF-1? expression was determined. Results:CoCl_(2 ) treatment could significantly elevate the level of HIF-1? expression. At 0.5 hour after CoCl_(2 ) treatment, the highest level was observed. Genistein 50 ?mol/L, 100 ?mol/L, 200 ?mol/L could suppress HIF-1? expression in a concentration-dependent manner. Conclusions:These results suggested that genistein could inhibit HIF-1? expression induced by CoCl_(2).
