A case of Hodgkin's disease which was complicated by disseminated cryptococcemia terminally is reported. The patient was a 19 year old girl and complained of high fever with shaking chins and dyspnea. In the past history, antituberculous treatment was given using PAS, INH and streptomycin for 2 months under the diagnosis of tuberculous pleurisy and several antibiotics and steroids were also given. On admission, antituberculous treatment was continued and prednisolone was also prescribed. She was discharged 15 days later but was readmitted because of abdominal pain and uncontrolable fever. On the third hospital day, a leftcervical lymphnode biopsy revealed. Hodgkin's disease, paragranuloma type. Endoxan and cobalt 60 irradiation were given to the abdomen. On the sixtieth hospital day, she became irritable and comatose and expired. At autopsy, disseminated Hodgkin's sarcoma was noted involving multiple lymphnodes, esophagus, small and large intestines, pancreas, liver, spleen, diaphragm, lungs, peritoneum, uterus, left ovary and bone marrow. In addition, evidence of cryptococcemia involving kidneys, lungs, heart, brain, pituitary gland and lymphnodes, was noted. A brief review of the literature was also made.

Within the past few years, an increasing number of reports of Hodgkin's disease following the diagnosis of, and frequently coexisting with, mycosis fungoides have appeared. Previously, Hodgkin's disease found in the lymph nodes of the patient diagnosed as mycosis fungoides was considered as a transformed form of the mycosis fungoides. But, now it has been proven that Hodgkin's disease and mycosis fungoides are histologically and immunohistochemically distinct disease entities. We report a well-documented case of a man who developed Hodgkin's disease and mycosis fungoides simultaneously as a composite lymphoma. Our case emphasizes the importance of considering the diagnosis of another lymphoma in patients with mycosis fungoides who have lymphadenopathy. The cutaneous mycosis fungoides and the Hodgkin's disease should be treated as an independent disease.

A case of laryngeal cancer complicated with Hodgkin's lymphoma treated in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and neck surgery of the First Hospital of Jilin University was reported. Under general anesthesia, right vertical partial laryngectomy, bilateral neck lymph node functional dissection and temporary tracheotomy were performed. No recurrence was found in laryngoscope and color Doppler ultrasound of neck lymph nodes 3 and 5 months after operation.

A retrospective histological study of 540 malignant lymphomas diagnosed at the Department of Pathology of the Seoul National University from 1976 through 1986 is presented. Malignant lymphoma is the 10th most common malignant tumor in Korea, comprising 3.07% of all malignancy during period of study. Among malignant lymphomas non-Hodgkin's lymphoma accounted for 82% and accordingly the Hodgkin's disease was for 18%. The most common type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma was diffuse histiocytic lymphoma of Rappaport. Follicular lymphoma was very rare, comprising only 2.3%. T-cell lymphoma accounted for 9.6% of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, the most frequent type being lymphoblastic lymphoma. Immunoblastic sarcoma and mycosis fungoides were occasionally seen but there was no case of pleomorphic adult T-cell lymphoma. Among Hodgkin's diseases, mixed cellularity type was the most common type, and nodular sclerosis type was relatively rare.
