1.To compare the active vascularity restoration in microtome flaps after pediculation of arteries and vena
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;425(5):46-49
66 flaps including 6 controlled, were divided into two models, each includes 30 flaps and each model was divided into 5 groups, evaluated after 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 days after implantation. From the random implantation of a isolated pedicle of artery or vena in an abdomen skin flap, new blood vessels occurred and connected with the existent system of vessels in the flap. After 20 days, new vascularity was established in both models, as the same in the control group. Blood supply was considered appropriate and the flap could be moved safely along the newly implanted pedicle

2.Evaluation of the antioxidant activity (AOA) of traditional medication by assaying the iodine index of Tween 80
Pharmaceutical Journal 2001;298(2):21-23
A study aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity (AOA) of traditional medication by determining the iodine index of Tween 80 in tentative samples (with the extraction of traditional medication) and control samples (without the extraction of traditional medication). It should not apply the spectrometry to evaluate the AOA of these medication because of their complicated chemical components, especially chromatic compounds which interfere the photic density

3.The research on blood homocystein level as a new risk factor for stroke
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2005;0(12):26-34
The research was carried out on 108 stroke patients, 108 healthy control subjects matched in age and gender at the Hue Central Hospital in 2004. Results: Increasing the mean level of homocystein in blood is new risk factor of stroke. It’s maybe an independent risk factor or combining with other risk factors of stroke (especially hypertension). The rate of hyperhomocysteinemia is higher in patient group than in control group. There were statistically significant association between the mean blood homocystein level with amount risk factors of stroke (age, smoking, blood pressure, uremia, creatininemia, HCT, platelet). Especially, the mean homocystein level in blood had a negative correlation with Glasgow scores. Quantifying the homocystein level in blood of stroke patients can predict the severity of conscious impairment

5.Transrectal ultrasonography and prostate biopsy
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2005;9(2):65-67
Transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) in prostate cancer could show the images of multiform prostate adenomas. Specific sign is a hypoechoic area in periphery of gland. Overall, sensitivity (32%) and specificity (51%) of TRUS in diagnosis prostate cancer weren’t high. The false negative was from 30% to 40%. Two major roles of TRUS were to determine suspected lesions and to increase accuracy of prostate biopsy. TRUS techniques in diagnosis prostate cancer were: conventional TRUS, TRUS with Doppler, TRUS with contrast Doppler, and TRUS with 3D ultrasound. Under TRUS-guiding, biopsy can be performed through perineum or rectum

6.Splenic abscess: Diagnosis and treatment
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2005;9(4):209-214
Splenic abscess is a rare clinical condition, and treatment is difficult due to atypical clinical symptoms. Two patients with splenic abscess treated at HCMC University Medical Center from September 2002 to October 2004. Symptoms included fever and abdominal pain of the left upper quadrant. Ultrasonography as initial investigation in both cases, followed by CT scan in one, is necessary for the diagnosis. Splenectomy was the definitive therapeutic option with good results, and there was no complication and mortality

7.Current trends in the treatment of urinary stones
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2005;9(3):129-133
In the last 2 decades, the great progress of imagine techniques, endoscopic equipments and extracorporeal lithotripsy made a revolution in the treatment of urinary stones. Urinary stones now can be treated successfully by minimal invasive procedures. The means of urinary stones treatments consist of shock wave lithotripsy (SWL), percutaneous nephrostolithotomy (PCNL), ureteroscopy (URS), laparoscopy, retroperitoneal endoscopy, and laparotomy. The trends of urinary stones treatments include treating kidney stones (big or small stones), ureteral stones (in the upper third, medium third, and lower third of ureter)

8.The immuno-depressive situation in patients with cancer and preliminary results of treatment protocol with aslem as adjuvant after surgery
Pharmaceutical Journal 2002;319(11):20-23
From March 2000 to October 2001, 26 cancer patients of the cardiac region were registered to our study. Most patients were in advanced stage, apparently showed an impaired immunity both local and systemic. 20/21 (95%) cases of positive mutant P53 protein were detected at the tumor. Post operative adjuvant therapy with Aslem tend to increase the survival rate after resection (60.61% of the treated group compared with 33.33% of the untreated group)

10.Uroflowmetry in patients with prostatic neoplasm treated by endosurgery at Binh Dan hospital
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):12-18
From November 1999 to November 2000, we observed the preoperative uroflows of all patients with prostatic neoplasm diseases. There were 94 patients (mean age 70.5(8.08) who had indications for TURP. The Qmax was 7.67(mL/s; voided volume was 261.8(142.4mL. The patterns of uroflow consisted 0f 64% obstructed, 14% intermittent, 19% interrupted and 3% normal. We noticed that 93.6% of all patients with symptoms of bladder outlet obstructions involved in our research had abnormal uroflows. We also had to consider the relationship of automatic and visual interpretations of uroflowmeters results. In patients with voided volume under 150mL, Bristol monogram is a very useful tool for correcting Qmax.
