Comrade ZHU Lian is a main founder of Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and she is the first to learn TCM for a physician of western medicine. The present paper looks back the works of comrade ZHU in acupuncture and moxibustion cause. Her main contributions are learning acupuncture and moxibustion medicine, popularizing acupuncture and moxibustion therapy; being concerned acupuncture and moxibustion cause, establishing organization of acupuncture and moxibustion research, more early conducting international exchanges of acupuncture and moxibustion; paying attention to clinical practice, proposing scientific research of acupuncture and moxibustion; writing New Acupuncture and Moxibustion Science, passing on later generations.

With his unique comprehension, theoretical contribution and technique of acupuncture, Professor HE Pu-ren has devoted himself into the career of Chinese Medicine for 70 years. Besides the professional contributions, his academic spirit and idea of humanities are also handed down to the next generation. LU Shou-yan is a famous acupuncture and moxibustion expert of our country in modern time. He bent himself to the cause of acupuncture and moxibustion throughout his life, propagated acupuncture and moxibustion in the adverse circumstances, and devoted himself to the education of acupuncture and moxibustion, giving no thought to personal safety; for perfecting theory of acupuncture and moxibustion, he studied intensively with great concentration, and creatively put forward effective methods of acupuncture and moxibustion; he earlier advocated experimental studies of acupuncture and moxibustion, promoting development of acupuncture and moxibustion sciences; he wrote books to expound theories, promoting propagation of acupuncture and moxibustion sciences. He contributes his lifetime for development of acupuncture and moxibustion cause.
