2.Diagnostic ultrasound of the esophageal vein dilation in patients with chronic hepatitis
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;267(12):14-16
The ultrasound was carried out in 40 patients with the chronic hepatitis with the spleanic vein and portal vein dilation to determine the patients whether had the esophageal vein dilation or not. The technique utilized the pachymetry of the anterior septal of the esophageal and found the hepato fugal spectrum in the esophageal septal. From which the standards were compared and introduced in diagnosis of the esophageal vein dilation to contribute to diagnosis of cirrhosis with the increase of portal vein pressure

8.Clinical significance of hepatitis B virus genotypes in patients with acute viral hepatitis B
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;512(5):40-43
In the study, 30 hepatitis B patients (23 males, 7 females, mean age 33.5 years) treated in Hue Central Hospital and the Hue Medical University Hospital from September 2004 to March 2005 were evaluated to find out the clinical significance of hepatitis B virus genotypes in acute viral hepatitis B. The results: 73.3% of the patients with common jaundice and 26.7% with long-term jaundice. The rate of HBeAg(+) in participants accounted for 43.3%. The rate of HBeAg(+) was similar between male and female. There were 8 patients with genotype B and 4 patients with genotype C. 25% of genotype B patients were female, while all of genotype C patients were male. The genotype C patients had jaundice period lasting more than 4 weeks. 80% of genotype B patients completely recovered and only 50% of patients became chronic disease. 100% of genotype C patients became chronic disease.

9.Evaluation of laparoscopy (LS) and fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) in the diagnosis of chronic hepatitis (CH), liver cirrhosis (LC) and hepato primary carcinoma (HPC) phase hepatomegaly
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):23-26
Total 95 patients were divided into 3 groups. Group 1 included 25 patients with CH. Group 2 included 30 patients with LC and 40 patients with HCP were involved in groups 3. All of these patients underwent LS and ultrasound and received FNAB under LS with aims: evaluation of diagnostic value of LS and FNAB under LS for CH, LC and HPC phase hepatomegaly. The author concluded that histology examination provided the sensitivity of 100% in the group 1 (24 patients) and 80% in group 2. Cytology examination provided the sensitivity of 95% in group 3. 1 patient had normal liver and 8 patients had been undiagnosed
