Objective To assess the therapeutic effects of activated charcoal on the acute dichlorvos poisoning in rats. Method Thirty male clean grade Wistar rats were randomly (random number) divided into three groups: control group (group A, n = 10), single dose activated charcoal group (group B, n = 10) and multi-dose activated charcoal (group C, n=10). The rats of group A were suffered from 35 mg/kg dichlorvos exposure by oral without activated charcoal and senna. The rats of group B received 35 mg/kg dichlorvos exposure by oral with 175 mg/kg activated charcoal given immediately after dichlorvos exposure and 35 mg/kg senna given half an hour later. In the group C, 35 mg/kg dichlorvos was given to rats by oral with 175 mg/kg activated charcoal given immediately after dichlorvos exposure and 35 mg/kg senna given half an hour later and then every four hours. Blood samples were collected from the carotid artery at different intervals after exposure. DDVP concentration and total blood acetyl-cholinesterase activity were detected. Differences in serum DDVP concentration, Cmax, AUC (0→∞ ), MRT and acetylcholinesterase among three groups were calculated by using ANOVA. Results Serum DDVP levels in single dose group and in multi-dose group were significantly different from those in control group (P < 0.05). The DDVP levels in multi-dose group were significantly different from those in single dose group 4 hours after exposure (P < 0.05). The AUC and Cmax in activated charcoal treatment groups were significantly different from those in control group (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in MRT among three groups. Fours hours after exposure to dichlorvos,the levels of serum acetylcholinesterase in rats of group B and group C were significantly different from that in rats of group A (P < 0.05), and there was no significant difference in acetylcholinesteras between group B and group C (P > 0.05). Another four hours later, no differences in acetylcholinesterase were found a-mong three groups (P > 0.05). Conclusions The peak concentrations of dichlorvos in blood are lower in group B and group C, and the blood acetylcholinesterase inhibition is quelled by activated charcoal. Therefore, the effects of multi - dose of activated charcoal is better than that of single dose of activated charcoal.

Objective summarize the delicacy management practices through the NSFC application procedures in a university affiliated hospital,to provide further reference for improvement of the NSFC project approvai ratio.Methods To summarize the management experiences by analyzing the approval number,project category and funds of NCFS from 2006 to 2015.Results The delicacy man agement practices include cultivate scientific research atmosphere by strengthen motivation,initiate application as early as possible,enlarging application number by extensive mobilization,improve applica tion quality by massive training,multi-round updates,tutorial,prevent avoidable errors by cross-over review.Conclusions Delicacy management by scientific research management department during the application process is critical to improve the project approval ratio of NCFS in a hospital.

Objective To investigate the protective effect of caffeine citrate on white matter damage in 2-day-old neonatal rats induced by postnatal infection.Methods Forty-eight 2-day-old SD rats were randomly divided into the control group (group A,n =16),lipopolysaccharide(LPS) infection group (group B,n =16),and caffeine citrate intervention group (group C,n =16) according to the random table method.The newborn rats of group B and C were continuously injected LPS 0.6 mg/kg intraperitoneally for 5 days from 2 days old,and the newborn rats of group A were continuously injected by an equal volume of 9 g/L saline intraperitoneally.Group C was continuously injected by caffeine citrate 10 mg/kg intraperitoneally for 7 days from 4 days old;equal volume of 9 g/L saline was injected into group A and B for 7 days continuously.At 12 days old,8 rats of each group were sacrificed randomly to evaluate the expression of myelin basic protein(MBP) subcortical white matter by immunohistochemical method.Both sides of hippocampus of the rest 8 rats of each group were taken out in ice surface rapidly.The left hippocampus was used to detect the expression of MBP and Caspase-3 by Western blot method,and the right hippocampus was used to evaluate the MBP and Caspase-3 protein level by quantitative real-time PCR(qPCR) method.Results The mean integral optical density (IOD) of subcortical MBP positive expression in group A,group B and group C were 132.64 ± 1.94,102.43 ± 2.12,114.25 ± 2.04,and the difference was statistically significant among 3 groups (F =22.912,P ＜ 0.05).The relative expression levels of MBP mRNA of 3 groups in hippocampus were 0.79 ± 0.01,0.39 ± 0.03,0.55 ± 0.02,and the difference was statistically significant among 3 groups (F =18.584,P ＜ 0.05).The relative expression levels of MBP protein of 3 groups in hippocampus were 0.64 ± 0.03,0.31 ± 0.03,0.51 ± 0.05,and the difference was statistically significant among 3 groups (F =25.780,P ＜ 0.05).The relative expression levels of Caspase-3 mRNA of 3 groups in hippocampus were 0.34 ± 0.02,0.74 ± 0.03,0.57 ± 0.04,and the difference was statistically significant among 3 groups (F =6.105,P ＜ 0.05).The relative expression of Caspase-3 protein of 3 groups in hippocampus were 0.11 ± 0.03,0.36 ± 0.02,0.23 ± 0.03,and the difference was statistically significant among 3 groups (F =40.541,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Caffeine citrate has showed protective effect on white matter damage in neonatal rats of 2 days old induced by postnatal infection.The mechanism may be related to inhibition of inflammatory response and reducing apoptosis.

Objective The international multidisciplinary lung adenocarcinoma classification was published by IASLC/ ATS/ERS in 2011.This study aimed to explore the clinicopathologic characteristics of lung adenocarcinoma based on IASLC/ATS/ERS classification and validate its clinical diagnostic and therapeutic value.Methods 2 056 cases of surgical resection from Shanghai Chest Hospital were classified according to the new classification and clinical information were retrospectively reviewed.The clinicopathologic characteristics based on new classification were analyzed statistically.Results Our data indicated that women were in high risk of lung adenocarcinoma; The average age of onset was 59-year-old; the female patients were younger than the male patients (58.7 years vs 60.2 years,P ＜ 0.01) ; Average tumor diameter was 2.6 centimeter; right lung was more popular than left and superior lobe than the inferior one.Acinar predominant subtype and papillary predominant subtype were frequently observed.Micropapillary predominant subtype and solid predominant subtype were identified to be more aggressive than other histopathologic subtypes.Most patients were classified as stage Ⅰ(71.7％),which were predominantly stage Ⅰa (53.1％).Conclusion The new classification is superior to reflect the clinicopathologic characteristics of lung adenocarcinoma and satisfy clinical needs,especially contributing to change and update the surgical strategy of early stage lung adenocarcinoma.

Objective To analyze the prognostic factors associated with three-year survival outcome in patients with serous ovarian adenocarcinoma by classification tree.Methods Retrospectively we analyzed 81 cases with serous ovarian adenocarcinoma who had 3-year clinical outcomes and were hospitalized in People's Hospital from Jan 1991 to Dec 2003 by classification and regression trees(CART)software.Establish the classification tree.Results Among the factors that were associated with the 3-year survival rate,age was the most important factor,other factors in turn were International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)stage,lymphoid metastasis,residual size after operation,chemotherapy and pathologic grade.By substitution variable analysis,it was demonstrated that there was cross interaction between age and residual size as well as age and chemotherapy.Conclusion Age,FIGO stage,lymphoid metastasis,residual size after operation,chemotherapy and pathologic grade are important prognostic factors related with three-year survival probability of serous ovarian adenocarcinoma patients.

Objective To investigate the status of the rehabilitation service and rehabilitation medical professionals in Tianjin. Methods130 hospitals and Disabled Persons' Federations in Tianjin selected by stratified random cluster sampling were surveyed by questionnaires.Results About 49.2% institutions had carried out the rehabilitation services; there were 842 rehabilitation medical professionals in total, including237 rehabilitation physicians and 3 prosthetic orthopaedic technicians, with a gap of nearly 3000 people; most of them were in loweducation. Conclusion The rehabilitation service should be developed; the quantities and quality of the rehabilitation medical professionalsshould be improved, the classified structure and the service objects are unbalanced.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of bepotastine besilate in the treatment of chronic urticaria.MethodsA randomized,double-blind,parallel-controlled clinical study was conducted in 5 centers.Patients were randomly assigned to 2 groups to be treated with bepotastine besilate 20 mg or loratadine 10 mg once a day,respectively,for 4 weeks.Visits were scheduled before and after 1,2 and 4 weeks of treatment.Itching degree,number of wheals and diameter of the largest wheal were recorded for efficacy evaluation.ResultsTotally,240 patients were enrolled and 227 patients completed the study.The response rate was 74.6％ and 77.9％ respectively in bepotastine besilate- and loratadine-treated patients,respectively(P ＞0.05).No significant difference was observed in the incidence of adverse reactions between bepotastine besilate- and loratadine-treated patients(12.8％ vs.17.9％,P ＞ 0.05).The main side effects were mild to moderate drowsiness,dry mouth,dizziness.ConclusionBepotastine besilate is effective and safe for the treatment of chronic urticaria,with an efficacy and safety profile similar to that of loratadine.

Objective To compare the value of abdominal aorta occlusion and internal iliac artery ligation in preventing massive bleeding during surgical treatment of complex acetabular fractures.Methods The study enrolled 67 cases of complicated acetabular fractures,of which 35 had control of hemorrhage via abdominal aorta blockage and 32 via internal iliac artery ligation.Intraoperative bleeding and postoperative drainage volumes were compared of the two operations.Results Of the two operations to control hemorrhage,abdominal aorta occlusion was significantly different from internal iliac artery ligation with regard to amount of blood loss [(648.00 ± 170.20) ml vs (231.18 ± 21.90) ml,t =1.693,P ＜ 0.05],but there was no significant difference between abdominal aorta occlusion and internal iliac artery ligation in postoperative drainage volume [(1 631.50 ± 675.50) ml vs (236.00 ±23.80) ml].Conclusion During surgical treatment of complex acetabular fractures,abdominal aorta occlusion is superior to internal iliac artery ligation in preventing bleeding and can be safe and effective for the fact that the bilateral common iliac arteries are occluded completely for a clear operation field.
