Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2016;25(6):491-495
Objective By analyzing the correlation between Doppler spectrum of extracranial cerebral vessels ECV and intracranial arterial stenosis IAS to identify the value of hemodynamic change of ECV in predicting IAS Methods One hundred and four patients with moderate to severe IAS or intracranial arterial occlusion were enrolled in the case group while 32 patients without obvious cerebrovascular disease in the same period were enrolled in the control group Ultrasound examinations of ECV were performed for all patients the hemodynamic parameters of bilateral common carotid artery CCA internal carotid artery ICA and vertebral artery VA were recorded and compared between case and control group Results Compared with control group the ECV of patients with IAS had lower velocity and higher resistance index RI Of all the parameters end diastolic velocity EDV of ICA and EDV of VA were most accurate in predicting IAS with best cut off value of 21 3 cm/s 9 6 cm/s and accuracy of 76 1 % 81 0% respectively Conclusions The ECV of IAS patients tend to have lower velocity and higher RI Analysis of hemodynamic parameters of ECV might be useful in predicting IAS.

Objective To evaluate the radiobiological effect of different irradiation fractionated regimens in human glioma cells ( BT 325 cell line). Methods The xenografts in Balb/c-nude mice were irradiated with different single and fractionated regimens. The single fraction dose was 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 Gy, respectively. The fractionated regimens were 2 Gy × 5 fractions ( irradiated every day), and 3 Gy ×3 fractions (irradiated every other day), 3 Gy × 5 fractions (irradiated every day) and 4 Gy × 3 fractions (irradiated every other day), with total doses of 125 Gy, 114 Gy, 126 Gy and 112 Gy, respectively. The growth curve was used to evaluate the tumor doubling time. clonogenic assays was performed to draw the cell survival curve and analyze the radiobiological parameters with doses of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 Gy. T1/2 was measured by comet assay. Results Tumor regression were not observed by single fraction irradiation, 2 Gy × 5 fractons and 3 Gy × 3 fractions irradiation regimens. The tumor regress was more significant with the increas of fraction dose. The 4 Gy × 3 fractionrs inhibited tumor more though not curing tumor. The cell doubling time of the BT 325 cell was 30. 16 h and the tumor doubling time of the xenograft was 43 days. When fitted with L-Q model ,α was 0. 36 Gy -1 and β was 0. 057 Gy -2. When fitted with the single-hit multitarget model, D0 was 1. 394 Gy, Dq was 2. 127 Gy and SF2 was 0. 714, respectively. The T1/2 was 9. 999min. Conclusions Glioma is a radioresistant tumor. Increase of the fraction dose improves recent effect.Further study is needed to control the tumor stem cells.

In traditional clinical application, Coptidis Rhizome and Evodiae Fructus have been combined to treat various stomach heat and cold syndromes, gastritis, gastric ulcer and the like. With the application of modem instruments and the development of molecular pharmacologic theory, their chemical constituents and pharmacological effects have been sufficiently studied. In this paper, literatures from Pubmed were adopted, with particular emphasis on findings of international counterparts and studies on compatibility of main chemical components in Coptidis Rhizoma and Evodiae Fructus, in order to elaborate on the scientific comparability of Coptidis Rhizoma and Evodiae Fructus through chemical analysis, and pharmacological and biopharmaceutics studies and introduce the future development trend of the studies.

Objective To study the X-ray signs of forearm and leg in skeletal fluorosis and its diagnostic value, aim at finding the easy examination parts. Methods One thousand four hundred and forty subjects were examined using developed shield, darkroom and other portable dedicated device combined with a small X-ray machine.A total of 384 cases were diagnosed skeletal fluorosis. All patients were divided into different groups and the time, degree and range of X-ray to the forearm and calf elbow, knee, and long bone were compared. Results The X-ray change in the forearm elbow was earlier than that of the leg knee, and trabecular bone change was the earliest indicator,197 cases and 157 cases, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =28.006,P < 0.01).Membrane ossification of forearm backbone was earlier than that of the leg,and most of them were degree Ⅰ photos,213 cases and 126 cases respectively. The difference was statistically significant (x2 =17.626,P < 0.01).The direction of the interosseous membrane ossification was from the forearm radius to the ulna, then to the fibula and tibia, and was accompanied by changes in the aggravation of forearm.A variety of indicators were observed, especially the membrane ossification in bone and joint trabecular bone and the long bone was the most active, and the forearm was more sensitive, obviously than that of the calf. Conclusion In the X-ray screening or detection of endemic fluorosis, the forearm radiography is a simple, economical, and effective diagnostic method.

Objective To study the effect of administration of transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) antagonist capsazepine (CPZ) into the nucleus accumbens (NAc) on the regulation of body weight and fat accumulation in rats, and evaluate the therapeutic effect of CPZ on neuropathic obesity. Methods Forty rats were randomly divided into 5 groups (n=8), namely, control group (without giving any treatment),group A (performed intra-NAc injection of 1 nmol/mL CPZ),group B (performed intra-NAc injection of 10 nmol/mL CPZ),group C (performed injection of 10 nmol/mL CPZ via the areas adjacent to NAc) and group D (performed injection of 10 nmol/mL CPZ via the dorsal striatum); rats of the later 4 groups were given 1 μL CPZ daily for a consecutive 3 d.The body weight of rats from different treatment groups 1 and 3 weeks after the injection was measured and compared them to that of the control group. Then, the animals were sacrificed, the body fat content of each group was evaluated. Results The body weight in rats of group A 1 week after the injection increased (126.31± 10.25)% as compared with their original weight, and that in rats of control group increased (148.78±6.98)% as compared with their original weight, which showed significant difference between the 2 increment (P<0.05); the body weight in rats of group B 1 week after the injection increased (115.87± 13.90)% as compared with their original weight, which showed significant decrease as compared with that in the control group (P<0.05); The body weight in rats of group B 3 week after the injection increased (132.82±15.8)% as compared with their original weight, and that in rats of control group increased (164.86±6.34)% as compared with their original weight, which showed significant difference between the 2 increment (P<0.05).Furthermore,the body fat content in group B was significantly lower than that of other groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Blockade of NAc TRPV1 receptor by CPZ has significant inhibitory central adjusting effect on body weight and fat content in rats; and TRPV1 antagonist may potentially serve as a specific drug for neuropathic obesity.
