5.Study on effect of Hegu laser He-Ne iradiation on some peripheral blood indexes
Journal of Medical Research 1998;7(3):31-36
20 healthy male students from 20-25 years of age were studied on the changes of peripheral blood indexes after the exact Hegu laser He-Ne irradiation with intensity 130 mW/cm2 for 2 minutes/point. 10 (changed most clearly) of 20 these students were irradiated laser outside the Hegu (1cm far from the Hegu) as the control group. Before irradiating, after laser 10, 30 minutes, vein blood was taken to investigate the following indexes: RBC, WBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, PLT, NEUT/1, LYMPH/1, MDX/1, RDW-SD, MPV, P-LCR. The results showed that PLT, WBC, LYMPH/1 reduced markly after 10, 30 minutes (p<0.05); there were no differences of the other (RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCH, MCHC, NEUT/1, RDW-SD, PDW, P-LCR) between before and after laser irradiation. There was no differences between before and after outside-Hegu laser He-Ne irradiation; the time when the peripheral blood indexes changed more clearly is at the 30th minute after irradiating.

Korean Journal of Clinical Pathology 2002;22(2):80-83
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) deficiency is rare and its symptoms are not specific; and therefore, it is not easy to identify persons either totally or partially who are myeloperoxidase deficient with every routine analysis. MPO deficiency can be detected by the pattern of the cytogram and the mean peroxidase index (MPXI) using the automated hematology analyzer Technicon H*2. A case of MPO deficiency is reported with some review of the available literatures.

8.Hematology index in cord blood.
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2002;269(2):10-11
Fifty umbilical cord blood samples have been collected for investigation of hematological index. Values of leucocyte, granulocyte, lymphocyte, monocytes, red corpuscles and reticulocytes have been harvested from Cell Dyn 3,500. The Hb electrophoresis by Bechman seperated well HbF from HbA. Most of our values are similar to Wintrobe’s but for granulocyte, red cell, hemoglobin and volume packed red cell are signigicantly lower if comparing to Wintrobe’s.

9.Some opinions of the myelogram in 2,445 cases implemented in the Ho Chi Minh center for Hematology and Blood Transfusion
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;232(1):25-29
Compiling 2,445 bone marrow aspiration cytology done at hematology department of HCM city and Blood Transfuson Centre (between Mar 1996-Aug 1998) we found the following results. -Acute leukemia: 737 cases (30.1%) -Myelohyperplasia syndrome: 132 cases (5.4%). - Aplastic anemia: 98 cases (4%). - Myelodysplasia: 49 cases (22%). -Lympho profilerative disease: 41 cases (1.7%). - Megaloblastic anemia: 14 cases (0,6%).- Cancer metastasis 26 cases (1.1%). - Extramedullary disorders: 1,100 cases (45%) - Normal Bone marrow cytology 213 cases (8.7%). Needle bone marrow aspiration technic, simple, nearly without complication, now still has remained the major diagnostic test for hematology disorders.

10.Achievement of profession of hematology and blood transfusion in the 20th century
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2000;(4):1-5
In the 20th century, the profession of hematology and blood transfusion obtained many major achievements. This paper introduced 3 achievements of the profession including researches on the hematopoietic stem cells, marrow transplantation and blood transfusion: blood preservation, finding of the leukocyte and thrombocyte antigens, separation of blood components and total blood transfusion, blood transfusion safety, and management of accidents due to blood transfusion
