Indirect energy metabolism measurement is the gold standard for providing nutritional support for critical illness. The accuracy of the measurement data directly affects the outcome of the disease. In order to study the influence of sampling delay on the accuracy of energy metabolism measurement under mechanical ventilation, the Matlab/Simulink platform and respiratory electrical model were used for simulation and quantitative analysis. The results show that the error of indirect energy metabolism measurement increases with the increase of sampling delay, the error of sampling delay in mechanical ventilation mode is larger than that of spontaneous breathing, and the error of sampling delay in PCV mode of mechanical ventilation is larger than that in VCV mode. Therefore, there should be different sampling delay compensation strategies under severe mechanical ventilation and its different control modes.

Lime sulfur is a common bactericide with strong alkalinity, and is highly corrosive to humans and animals. It is rare for lime sulfur poisoning clinically. This article discusses the clinical manifestations of a patient who was poisoned by oral lime sulfur. After the poisoning, the mucosa of the lips and pharynx broke, fever, and pulmonary inflammation quickly appeared. The pulmonary CT showed slight interstitial changes in both lungs. Through high flow oxygen inhalation, fluid infusion, drainage, maintenance of water and electrolyte balance, protection of important organ functions, and other symptomatic support and treatment, as well as control of blood pressure, blood sugar, maintenance of circulatory function and other targeted measures, the patient's condition gradually improved.

A lung diffusion function detection system is designed. Firstly, the controllable collection of air, test gas source and calibration gas source was based on single-breath method measurement principle. Secondly, pulmonary diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide (DlCO) was calculated by gas concentration measured by the non-dispersive infrared sensor to measure, the gas flow measured by the differential pressure sensor, and the temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure sensors to test and evaluate the quantitative detection and evaluation of lung diffusion function. Moreover, a preliminary verification of the lung diffusion function detection system was implemented, and the results showed that the error of the lung carbon monoxide diffusion and the alveolar volume did not exceed 5%. Therefore, the system has high accuracy and is of great value for early screening and accurate assessment of COPD.

A new method to fabricate exact-fit medical implants is proposed. Medical image processing and digital geometry processing are adopted for bone triangular mesh modeling from CT image series. After geometric operations such as decimation, defragmentation, cutting and mirroring are applied to the original triangular mesh, an RP model of same size as the bone is fabricated with LOM method. RP models are used for manufacturing exact-fit implants and they also serve surgery-guiding purpose. This novel technique has been applied in over 30 clinical cases, and it is proven to be practicable.

Psychiatry Investigation 2023;20(4):301-306
Objective:
Stress and cognitive impairment are common postoperative complications in elder patients who have undergone hip surgery. The objective of the work is to evaluate the effects of remimazolam supplemented to combined general anesthesia in improving stress and cognitive performance.
Methods:
A total of 120 patients were included to receive a low dose of remimazolam (0.1 mg/kg/h) intravenously combined with general anesthesia or general anesthesia alone during hip surgery. Assessments were used for evaluating cognitive and psychological performance respectively before surgery (T0), 24 h (T5), and 72 h (T6) after surgery. Physiological parameters including mean artery pressure, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels (SpO2) were measured at T0, 30 min after anesthesia (T1), and completion of surgery (T2). Stress indexes including serum cortisol and norepinephrine levels were measured at T0, T5, and T6. The visual analog scale pain scores were also acquired at 6 h after surgery, 12 h after surgery, and T6. Serum interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α levels were acquired at T0, T2, and T6.
Results:
Heart rate and SpO2 levels in the combination group were significantly improved compared to the control group. Serum cortisol and norepinephrine levels were the highest at T1 and decline over time until T5 in both groups, the two stress indexes of the combination group were significantly lower at T1 and T2.
Conclusion
Remimazolam supplemented to combined general anesthesia demonstrated significant benefit in reducing stress and cognitive dysfunction in elder patients who underwent hip surgery.

The study was conducted to characterize the pharmacokinetics, distribution, metabolism and excretion of CHMFL-FLT3-122 after a single oral dose of 50 mg·kg-1 [14C] labeled CHMFL-FLT3-122 in rats. Isotope tracing techniques were used to analyze drug concentration and identify the distribution of drugs in tissues and metabolites in biological samples. The experiments were approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of XenoBiotic Laboratories-China, Inc. The absolute bioavailability in male and female rats were 45.83% and 50.92% respectively. The parent drug and its metabolites were extensively distributed in the stomach, intestine, liver and lung, and were eliminated completely in 48 h. The majority of radioactivity was excreted through the feces at 92.34% of the dose with a small fraction through urine at 3.99% of the dose. The parent drug was the most significant circulating component, representing 49.23% and 70.65% over the 0-48 h collection time interval in the plasma of male and female. Two major metabolites, M553 (sulfate conjugate) and M457 (

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2022;39(3):507-515
The automatic recognition technology of muscle fatigue has widespread application in the field of kinesiology and rehabilitation medicine. In this paper, we used surface electromyography (sEMG) to study the recognition of leg muscle fatigue during circuit resistance training. The purpose of this study was to solve the problem that the sEMG signals have a lot of noise interference and the recognition accuracy of the existing muscle fatigue recognition model is not high enough. First, we proposed an improved wavelet threshold function denoising algorithm to denoise the sEMG signal. Then, we build a muscle fatigue state recognition model based on long short-term memory (LSTM), and used the Holdout method to evaluate the performance of the model. Finally, the denoising effect of the improved wavelet threshold function denoising method proposed in this paper was compared with the denoising effect of the traditional wavelet threshold denoising method. We compared the performance of the proposed muscle fatigue recognition model with that of particle swarm optimization support vector machine (PSO-SVM) and convolutional neural network (CNN). The results showed that the new wavelet threshold function had better denoising performance than hard and soft threshold functions. The accuracy of LSTM network model in identifying muscle fatigue was 4.89% and 2.47% higher than that of PSO-SVM and CNN, respectively. The sEMG signal denoising method and muscle fatigue recognition model proposed in this paper have important implications for monitoring muscle fatigue during rehabilitation training and exercise.
