2.Self Efficacy, Organizational Commitment, Customer Orientation and Nursing Performance of Nurses in Local Public Hospitals.
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2016;22(5):507-517
PURPOSE: The local public hospitals in Korea are regarded as institutions that must consider the provision of good quality public health services, as well as profitability. Therefore it is important to improve nursing services to produce positive change in local public hospitals. This study was done to examine the relationships between self efficacy, organizational commitment, customer orientation and nursing performance for nurses in local public hospitals. METHODS: For this study, 5 of 34 institutions were selected through random sampling: and 134 nurses working in local public hospitals were selected. Data were collected from March 28 to April 8, 2016 using self-report questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 18.0. RESULTS: The major findings are summarized as follows: (1) There were significant positive correlations between self efficacy, organizational commitment, customer orientation, and nursing performance. (2) The factors affecting nursing performance were self efficacy, organizational commitment, and customer orientation, in that order, and these variables explained 57% of nursing performance. CONCLUSION: Administrators in local public hospitals should use the results of this study to develop a strategy for improving nursing performance.

Korean Journal of Nosocomial Infection Control 1997;2(1):29-39
BACKGROUND: Approxinately 30%-70% of patients hospitalized receive intravenous(IV) therapy[l-4], It is generally believed that many hospitalized patients experienced IV therapy related complications-including infiltration(swelling), phlebitis, pain, suppurative phlebitis and bacterernia. These complications may be critical to ill children in the hopsital. This study was done to assess the IV therapy related complications and characteristics od the phlebitis of the hospitalized children. METHODS: We collected date prospectively from December 8, 1994 to December 14 at the tertiary care hospital in Seoul. The subhects of this study were children who got new IV catheters during that period. RESULTS: There were 306 new cases(176 children) that got IV therapy and which meant 63.8 per 100 discharge patients. Male(62.8%), pediatric surgery patients(70.6%) were more than female(37.2%) and pediatrucs(28.4%) respectively. The usually used IV sites were the upper extermities(71.3%). Among various purposes of IV therapy, the most common was to administer drugs(74.2%) including antibiotics, and next was to keep vein open (41.2%). By the way, 172 cases(56.3%) had IV related complications and 14 resulted in phlebitis. The most common IV related complication of hospitalized children was swelling(35.1%). The incidence of IV related complication of hospitalized children was swelling(35.1%). The incidence of IV phlebits was higher in pediaterics than in pediatrid surgery (P<0.05), over 12 years old than under that aged patients (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: This study revealed that many hospitalized children experienced the IV related complications. In order to decrease the IV related complications, reduce the incidence and thorough care is recommanded.

Korean Journal of Clinical Pathology 1997;17(4):530-538
A case of Down's syndrome in which transient myeloproliferative disorder developed is described. In hematologic findings of peripheral blood, high blast cell count on 1st day of birth had been found and after serial follow-up for several weeks, decrease in WBC counts from 22.6x10(9)/L to 7.5x10(9)/L and blast cell counts from 31% to 2% occurred. The karyotype of his patient was 45,XY, der (13;14) (q10;q10), der(14;21) (q10;q10), +21. Karyotyping of his father revealed 45,XY, der(13;14) (q10;q10). Without specific chemotherapy, hematologic and clinical recovery was occurred within several weeks. We deport a case of transient myeloproliferative disorder in Robertsonian translocatlon type of Down's syndrome accompanying another Robertsonian translocation, der (13;14) (q10;q10), inherited from his father.

Korean Journal of Community Nutrition 2002;7(2):245-256
This study was carried out to examine Koreans preference in mushrooms, their nutritional knowledge of mushrooms as a source of Vitamin D, and five characteristics of six dishes consisting of common dishes and mushroom dishes. The data were collected from 2,777 subjects in various age ranges by means of a survey questionnaire. Variables, such as age, gender, diet quality and the degree of interest in diet were significant factors considered in relation to preference of mushrooms. Adults ate mushrooms because of their healthfulness, but this attibute was not a factor among adolescent students. The level of nutritional knowledge was relatively low and the ratio of "do not know" responses was higher than the ratio of "yes" or "no" . Generally, housewives, elementary school children and those who were healthy, ate floods because of health consciousness, and those who preferred mushrooms had better dietary habits. The characteristics of mushroom dishes, both as main and side dishes, had much more correlation with the factors considered for the subjects than the common dishes and one dish meals, respectively. Dietary altitudes, such as mushroom preference, frequency of mushroom intake and level of nutritional knowledge, were strongly correlated with the characteristics of the six dishes. It has been shown that mushroom dishes were recognized as nutritional, rather than delicious.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1992;28(1):95-100
When bronchogenic carcinoma is coexisting with pulmonary tuberculosis, it is difficult to differentiate bronchogenic carcinoma from pulmonary tuberculosis radiologically. Thus, the object of this study is to define differential diagnosis of bronchogenic carcinoma by computed tomography. We analized CT scans of 27 patients with radiologic findings of pulmonary tuberculosis and mass of which twelve cases were pulmonary tuberculosis and fifteen cases were primary lung cancer. The location of parenchymal infiltration and the mass was the same in 60%(9/15) of the primary lung cancer in cases and 83%(10/12) of the pulmonary tuberculosis cases. The common location of the mass was the both upper lobes in 92%(11/12) of the pulmonary tuberculosis cases and 53%(8/15) of the primary lung cancer cases. The common locations of the mediastinal lymphadenopathy were 4R, 2R of the pulmonary tuberculosis cases and 4R, 10R of the primary lung cancer cases. In the feature of post enhanced lymph nodes, homogenous increased density was more frequent in primary lung cancer. Measurements of the maximum thickness part of the cavity wall was not a reliable indication of malignancy.

Korean Journal of Women Health Nursing 2005;11(2):135-141
PURPOSE: The purposes of this study were to verify the effects of aromatherapy on labor pain and perception of the childbirth experience. METHODS: This study was a nonequivalent control group pretest- posttest design. The subjects of this experiment consisted of forty eight primiparas without problems during the gestation period. Twenty four primiparas in the experimental group were given general obstetric nursing care with aromatherapy every two hours. Twenty four primiparas in the control group were given general obstetric nursing care only. Data was collected for labor pain measured by a labor pain expression scale, uterine contraction activity measured by Montevideo units in the latent phase, active phase, and transition phase and the perception of childbirth experience 24hours after birth. Data was analyzed by t-test, and repeated measures of ANOVA with an SPSS program. RESULTS: No significant group effects were found, but significant time effects were found for labor pain, and uterine contraction activity. There was no significant difference in postpartum mothers' perception about childbirth. CONCLUSION: In this study, effects of aromtherapy decreasing labor pain expression, and increasing the perception of childbirth was not found.
