0.05).Among the 26 pregnancies, there occurred one ectopic pregnancy and four cases of spontaneous abortion. In the 13 delivery cases, there were one premature delivery, two cases of premature rupture of the membrane, and ten cases of cesarean section. The sample height of the cone was less than 2.0 cm in the nine delivery cases, and the mean width of the cone was over 2.5 cm.Conclusion No evidence of secondary infertility caused by cervical conization was found. There was also no significant increase in the number of either premature delivery cases or low birth weight infants. The sample height of the cone might play a more important role in the pregnancy outcome than the width, which still needs to be further verified by larger studies.

Objective To study the effects of CUEDC2 on renal interstitial fibrosis and inflammation response in rats with unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO). Methods 30 Balb/c rats were randomly distributed into sham operation group(sham-vector),uuo operation group(uuo-vector) and CUEDC2 treatment group after uuo (uuo-cuedc2). Hematoxylin-eosin and Masson staining were used to measure renal pathology; Inflammation factors were quantified by ELISA; Immunohistochemistry was performed to measure the expression of CUEDC2;Protein expression of CUEDC2, Fibronectin, E-cadherin, Collagen I were detected by Western Blot. Results At 7 and 14d after operation, the area of interstitial fibrosis and expression of ICAM1,MCP1,IL1,IL8, Fibronectin and Collagen I in uuo-cuedc2 showed a marked decrease when compared to uuo-vector (p?0.05),the level of E-cadherin was significantly increased (P < 0.05). Conclusion CUEDC2 can inhibit renal interstitial fibrosis and decrease the expression of inflammation factors and Collagen deposition.

Objective Understanding the risk factors of female infertility among child-bearing aged women, in Nanchang area. Methods A hospital-based matched case-control study was carried out in Nanchang. Matched by age ( ±2 years old) , 383 pairs of cases and controls were recruited and studied. Database was established with EpiData 3.0 software. Both cases and controls were interviewed face to face, with a uniformed questionnaire. Conditional logistic regression model was used for univariate and multivariate analysis on SPSS 11.5 to estimate odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results Data from multiple conditional logistic regression analysis showed that the risk factors of infertility would include pelvic inflammatory diseases (0R=7.078, 95% Ch 3.462-14.467),post-abortion complications' history(0R=3.674, 95% CI: 1.690-7.986), drug treatment history (0R=23.576, 95% Ch 12.324-45.102), dysmenorrhea (0R=1.622, 95% CI: 1.161-2.266), pain from sexual intercourse (0R=2.447, 95% CI: 1.201-4.986), monthly frequency of sexual intercourse (0R=1.416,95% CI: 1.048-1.913)and mental stress (0R=2.146, 95% CI: 1.662-2.771). The protective factor of infertility, however, was level ofeducation(0R=0.522,95%Cl:0.391-0.696). Conclusion Prevention and treatment of pelvic infection, application of strictly controlled drugs, popularization of awareness on sexual and reproductive health and relief of mental stress would be important measures in decreasing the incidence of infertility.

Maize (Zea mays L.), wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and rice (Oryza sativa L.) are three staple crops and accordingly it is very meaningful to optimize the condition of their protoplasts isolation. The concentration of the enzyme, the time of isolation and centrifugal force in protoplast isolation were investigated to find their effects on protoplast yield and viability using leaves of maize (Zong 3), wheat (Chinese Spring) and rice (Nipponbare). The results show that the concentration of the enzyme and the time of isolation affected the protoplast yield significantly. Although the yield of protoplast was increased with high concentration of enzyme and long incubated time, it led to too much cells breakdown. The orthogonal experimental design results show that the best condition of maize protoplast isolation was Cellulase R-10 1.5%, Macerozyme R-10 0.5%, 50 r/min 7 h, 100 x g 2 min and the protoplasts yield was 7x106 cells/g fresh weight (FW); the best condition of wheat protoplast isolation was Cellulase R-10 1.5%, Macerozyme R-10 0.5%, 50 r/min 5 h, 100 x g 2 min and the protoplasts yield was 6 x 10(6) cells/g FW; the best condition of rice protoplast isolation was Cellulase R-10 2.0%, Macerozyme R-10 0.7%, 50 r/min 7 h, 1 000 x g 2 min and the protoplasts yield was 6x10(6) cells/g FW. The vitalities were more than 90% using fluorescein diacetate staining method. 50%-80% transformation efficiency was obtained when protoplasts were transformed by green fluorescent protein using PEG-Ca2+ method.

OBJECTIVETo explore whether there exists coincidence of the most appearing time of clinical features of liver cancer at different longitude and latitude, according to the law of field equation and the theory of warpage of space time by Einstein.
METHODSThree regions with different longitude and latitude were selected randomly and sampled. There were 36 items altogether, including 12 clinical items, which were used to imitate the yearly cycle cosine curve. The acorphases and the ratioes of amplitudes and means were compared to justifying whether they were in the same range.
RESULTSAll the acorphases of 36 items appeared between -90.1degrees to -207.5 degrees (from april to july), existing in one third of the same range, in which 13 items occurred rhythmly (P<0.05). The image acorphases of liver cancer at the early and middle stage and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase acorphase appeared between -98.5 degrees to -148.2 degrees (from april to may), in which 5 items occurred rhythmly (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONIt is the same mode of the yearly biologcal cycle for liver cancer malignant growth within the most appearing time (from april to july). It will increase the detecting rate of liver cancer at the early and middle stage during this time (especially from april to may).

OBJECTIVETo study the clinicopathological, immunohistochemical and electron microscopic characteristics of pediatric rhabdomyosarcomas (RMS).
METHODSOne hundred and forty-five cases of pediatric rhabdomyosarcomas were studied by routine histological, immunohistochemical and electron microscopic studies.
RESULTSThere were 97 male and 48 female patients with ages ranging from 4 months to 13 years and a mean of 4.2 years. The follow-up period of 100 patients was from 1 year to 20 years with a mean of 5 years after diagnosis. All cases were subtyped into the following histological categories: embryonal RMS, botryoid RMS, spindle cell RMS, alveolar RMS and solid RMS. Histopathological subtypes, tumor site and tumor stage correlated significantly with the patients' 5 years survival. The best prognosis was observed in spindle cell and botryoid RMS. Embryonal RMS carried an intermediate prognosis. Patients with alveolar RMS and solid RMS had the worst prognosis. Tumors involving bladder, head and neck carried a favorable clinical outcome. Patients with tumors involving trunk extremities retroperitoneum and pelvis did poorly. Immunohistochemically, all cases were positive for Vimentin. The positive staining rates for desmin, SMA and myoglobin were 78%, 75% and 37%, respectively. All tumors were negative for NSE, CD99 and LCA. Electron microscopy study showed features of myofilament and sarcomere in 10 of 15 cases.
CONCLUSIONSRMS is the most common soft tissue sarcoma of childhood. Immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy are helpful in diagnosis and classification of RMS.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the association between metabolic syndrome and colorectal cancer.
METHODSA multicenter case-control study was conducted. A total of 1506 cases of colorectal cancer (936 males and 570 females), whose clinical data were complete and aged from 30 to 75, were collected in the Third, First and Second People's Hospital of Jingdezhen between 2000 and 2009. A total of 3354 controls (1766 males and 1588 females) were subjects admitted to the above 3 hospitals as cases with acute non-malignant non-digestive diseases. Multiple logistic regression models were used to analyze the association between metabolic syndrome and its components and colorectal cancer.
RESULTSForty-eight cases of colorectal cancer (3.2%) and 59 controls (1.8%) were diagnosed as metabolic syndrome. Colorectal cancer risk was increased in cases with metabolic syndrome (OR=1.64, 95% CI:1.14-2.49, P<0.05) and in men with metabolic syndrome (OR=1.92, 95% CI:1.27-3.78, P<0.05), but not in women (P>0.05). As the number of component of metabolic syndrome increased, the risk of colorectal cancer increased in men (P<0.01), but not in women (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONAssociation between metabolic syndrome and colorectal cancer exists in men, but not in women.

Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae 2003;25(4):431-433
OBJECTIVETo determine the effect of chemotherapy on ovarian endocrine function and menstruation.
METHODSMenstruation and serum luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and estradiol (E2) levels were observed when the patients with ovarian cancer undergoing one side ovarectomy were followed by chemotherapy.
RESULTSAbnormal menstruation occurred in 86.7% cases, including 80% amenorrhea and 6.7% oligomenstruate. Menstruation resumed around 2 months after chemotherapy. Serum LH, FSH levels rose and E2 level declined during amenorrhea. No significant change was observed in progesterone or testosterone levels.
CONCLUSIONSOvary function impairment may occur in ovarian cancer patient treated by one side ovarectomy followed by chemotherapy. Serum LH, FSH, and E2 levels change and abnormal menstruation are two common manifestations. However, chemotherapy-related amenorrhea is reversible.
