AIM To study the protective and antiperoxidative effects of baicalin on myocardial ischemia. METHODS The rat anterior decenging branch of left coronary artery was occluded for 40 min and reperfusion for 120 min. Hemodynamics (LVP, LV d p /d t ) and electrocardiogram (ECG, lead Ⅱ) monitored continuously with polygraph,then the myocardium were taken to assay lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), malondialdehyde (MDA) contents and superoxide dismatase (SOD). RESULTS Baicalin 10 or 40 mg?kg -1 iv depressed changes in LDH, MDA and SOD in myocardium after ischemia for 40 min and reperfusion for 120 min in rats. Baicalin 10 and 40 mg?kg -1 iv markedly improved the ?d p /d t max (kPa?s -1 ), LVSP in rat after ischemia for 40 min and reperfusion. CONCLUSION Baicalin possesses a protective effect against myocardial ischemia via attenuating lipid peroxidation.

A new benzene derivative microintegerrin C (1) and a new norsesquiterpenoid microintegerrin D (2), along with six known compounds (3-8), were isolated and identified from stems and leaves of Micromelum integerrimum by various chromatographies such as silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, RP-18 column chromatography and HPLC. Their structures were mainly identified based on the spectral data analysis such as 1D-, 2D-NMR and HR-EI-MS. All known compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Objective To investigate the epidemic situation of coal-burning-fluorosis,and to explore key areas for implementing prevention and control measures in Guizhou Province.Methods Survey data of dental fluorosis of children aged 8-10,anti-fluoride knowledge and health-related behaviors of target students and their families before implementing the comprehensive disease control measures in 2010,were analyzed and evaluated using the method of factor analysis in 23 diseased districts.Results ①The three main factors (F) related to the endemic of coal-burning-fluorosis were economic factor (F 1),knowledge factor (F2) and behavior factor (F3):F1 included the detection rate of 8 to 12 years old children's dental fluorosis,iron stove ownership,corn correct drying rate and chili correct drying rate; F2 included stove correct utilization rate,students awareness and head of the household awareness; F3 included corn food washing rate before cooking and chili food washing rate.②In the economic factor score arrangement,the first three were Zunyi,Xiuwen and Qingzhen.In the F2 score arrangement,the first three were Zunyi,Xishui and Xixiu.In the F3 score arrangement,the first three was Liuzhi,Bijie and Xixiu.③After comprehensive score,Zunyi,Qingzhen,Xishui,Xixiu,Puding and Liuzhi Counties were found to be relatively stronger in control of the epidemic of coal-burning-fluorosis; Xiuwen,Renhuai,Guanling and so on 13 counties were found to be relatively moderate,and Tongzi,Hezhang,Shuicheng and Nayong Counties were found to be relatively weak.Conclusions ①The endemic of coal-burning-fluorosis is related with many factors,and the indexes we selected in this study have a strong correlation and sensitivity,which may be used in evaluating the prevention effect of control measures to coal-buming-fluorosis.②The endemic of coal-burning-fluorosis in Guizhou Province is quite different,and key prevention and control measures can be applied according to a comprehensive factor analysis.

The mechanism of chromium accumulation and microstructure transformation of the fused yeast were studied in this paper.The result showed that the process of Cr6+ reduction and adsorption was accom-panied by the H+ consumption.The main adsorptive groups on the strain surface included amino,hydroxyl,phosphate group and amide,among which phosphate group played vital role in the chromium accumulation.The removal rate of chromium and reduction rate of hexavalent chromium declined 70% and 46%,respec-tively,when phosphate group was masked.During the adsorption process the chromium ions complexed on the surface of fused yeast was transported into the cell wall and combined with inclusion to form steady spe-cies and this took 90 min to reach the equilibrium.The biosorption and reduction of Cr on the cell surface would alter microstructure of cell surface,reduce cell membrane potential and increase cell membrane per-meability.

To explore the effect of estrogen on pathogenesis of osteoporosis in women with maintenance hemodialysis. One hundred and twenty women aged 18-45 years had been undergoing maintenance hemodialysis for ≥ 3 months were included. Of them ,60 women without osteoporosis served as control group and the other 60 women with osteoporosis as observation group. Serum concentrations of estradiol, tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), parathyroid hormone (PTH), and calcium were determined, meanwhile bone mineral density (BMD)was measured by quantitative computed tomography. Serum estradiol levels in the observation group were lower while TNF-α level were higher than those in control group (all P<0. 05). PTH and calcium levels were not significantly different (P= 0.567 and P = 0. 588). In the observation group, linear correlation analysis revealed positive correlation (r = 0. 865 ,P<0. 01)between estradioi and BMD,while multiple linear regression analysis showed that serum estradiol and calcium levels were positively correlated with BMD, and the concentrations of TNF-α and PTH were negatively correlated with BMD (F= 140.32 ,P<0.01).
