Objective To compare the effect of phloroglucinol with lidocaine in treatment of cervical edema at the active stage. Methods 262 normal primiparae with cervical edema were randomly divided into three groups. Group A(89 cases)was intravenously given phloroglucinol, group B(83 cases)was injected lidocaine into the cervix, group C(90 cases)was wet compress lidocaine on the cervix. The cervical change, progression of labor and maternal and fetal outcomes were compared among the three groups. Results The disappearance ratio of cervical edema after 1h of group A,group B,group C were 79.8%,59.0%,57.8% respectively, there were statistically significant differ-ences between group A with group B and group C(χ2 =4.31,5.04,all P <0.05),there was no statistically significant difference between group B and group C(χ2 =0.14,P >0.05).The mean time period from drug administration to full dilation of the cervix of group A,group B,group C were (3.2 ±0.5)h,(4.1 ±0.6)h,(4.3 ±0.3)h,there were statistically significant differences between group A with group B and group C(t =0.91,1.06,all P <0.05),there was no statistically significant difference between group B and group C(t =0.15,P >0.05).The disappearance ratio of cervical edema after 2h (group A:94.3%,group B:95.2%,group C:93.3%),vaginal delivery rate(group A:94.3%,group B:91.6%,group C:94.4%),asphyxia neonatorum(group A:1 case, group B:0 case, group C:1 case),and postpartum hemorrhage[group A:(187 ±90)mL,group B:(202 ±100)mL,group C:(199 ±94)mL]had no statistically significant differences among the three groups(χ2 =0.14,0.29,0.10,F =0.633,all P >0.05 ). Conclusion Phloroglucinol and lidocaine all can treatment of cervical edema, the phloroglucinol is the best, two uses of lidocaine have same effect, there are no adverse effect on mother and newborn.

The macroporous resin separation technology has been mainly applied in the enrichment of saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids and other ingredients, and used in the removal of heavy metal impurities and pesticide residues in recent years. This paper focuses on the synthesis of the new-type macroporous adsorption resin LKS-11 according to the molecular structure characteristics of procymidone. Specifically, the selective absorptive property and other advantages of macroporous resin were utilized to analyze the procymidone removal efficiency in ginseng extracts from different sources. The type of macroporous resins, absorptive property and desorption conditions were observed respectively by static and dynamic adsorption methods to determined the optimum process conditions. According to the results, LKS-11 showed a good absorptive property to procymidone in ginseng extracts and provided a theoretical basis for studies on the removal of procymidone residues from ginseng extracts by using macroporous adsorption resin. Because of no secondary pollution on samples, low production and operation costs, high procymidone removal efficiency and high product recovery rate, this method is suitable to be applied in production.

Objective To analyse the plasma glucose change in the patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and to discuss its possible mechanism. Methods The clinical data of 61 cases with SARS in Tianjin were retrospectively analysed. Results Plasma glucose level increased in 26 cases with SARS, among them, 2 cases suffered from diabetes before SARS onset, 24 cases were diagnosed as the secondary diabetes whose blood glucose level recovered normal after SARS were cured, except 4 cases who were dead. All of the 61 cases were treated with glucocorticoids. If the patients were grouped by the dose of methylprednisolone they received, 9 out of 14 cases with large dose, 14 out of 26 cases with middle dose and 1 out of 21 cases with small dose were led to secondary diabetes. There was significant difference in the incidence of the secondary diabetes between the small dose group and middle/large dose groups (P

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(1):142-145
Skin aging principles play important roles in skin disease diagnosis, the evaluation of skin cosmetic effect, forensic identification and age identification in sports competition, etc. This paper proposes a new method to evaluate the skin aging objectively and quantitatively by skin texture area. Firstly, the enlarged skin image was acquired. Then, the skin texture image was segmented by using the iterative threshold method, and the skin ridge image was extracted according to the watershed algorithm. Finally, the skin ridge areas of the skin texture were extracted. The experiment data showed that the average areas of skin ridges, of both men and women, had a good correlation with age (the correlation coefficient r of male was 0.938, and the correlation coefficient r of female was 0.922), and skin texture area and age regression curve showed that the skin texture area increased with age. Therefore, it is effective to evaluate skin aging objectively by the new method presented in this paper.

Objective To investigate the dynamic changes of serum insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in acute traumatic brain injury (TBI) as well as their correlations with the initial severity of TBI and prognosis. Methods A total of 229 patients with acute TBI admitted from September 2014 to June 2016 were retrospectively studied.Patients were further classified as mild TBI group (GCS 13-15 points),moderate TBI group (GCS 9-12 points) and severe TBI group (GCS 3-8 points) according to Glasgow coma score (GCS).The control group consisted of 30 healthy subjects. The prognosis was evaluated by using Glasgow outcome scale (GOS) at 6 months after TBI.The IGF-1 levels were further tested at days 1,3,5,7 and 14 and their correlations with the initial GCS and GOS at 6 months after injury were evaluated. Results (1) The serum IGF-1 levels of mild, moderate and severe TBI group at all time points were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05);the serum IGF-1 levels of severe and moderate TBI groups at all time points after injury were significantly lower than those of the mild TBI group (P <0.05);the serum IGF-1 levels of the severe group at days 1,3,5 and 7 d after injury were lower than those of the moderate TBI group (P<0.05).(2) IGF-1 levels were significantly different between the two groups (P < 0.05) at different time points during the follow-up of 6 months.(3)IGF-1 levels were positively correlated with both GCS and GOS at the acute stage of TBI and sub-acute stage following TBI (P < 0.05).Conclusion The dynamic changes of serum IGF-1 levels in patients with acute TBI are related to both initial severity of TBI and the neurological outcomes and can be used as a reliable biomarker for early severity assessment and prognostic prediction of TBI.
