Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2005;0(11):-
OBJECTIVE To introduce the methods of hospital disease prevention and control and advance the level of infection management.METHODS We constituted and administered thoroughly hospital regulations of infection prevention and control according to our country and PLA′s laws and statutes.RESULTS To eliminate effectively the outbreak and epidemic of the hospital infection and cross infection, and complete the work of hospital disease prevention and control that leads appointed us.CONCLUSIONS Disease prevention and control are the key to the infection control in hospitals.

An adult patient with hypophosphatasia caused by compound heterozygous mutations in alkaline phosphatase, liver /bone /kidney(ALPL)gene was investigated through comprehensively reviewing the medical history and clinical records of the proband and her family members in order to better understand the disease. The proband and her older sister had mild decreased serum alkaline phosphatase level accompanied with frequently nontraumatic fractures at limbs and all the teeth fell off at the age of 20 and 7, respectively. Both of them carried a missense mutation c.407G>A(p.Arg136His)in exon 5 and a deletion mutation c.1318_1320delAAC(p.Asn440del)in exon 12 simultaneously.Other four family members were p.Arg136His mutation carriers and two members were p.Asn440del mutation carriers. We found that p.Asn440del mutation was associated with the oral disorders. In this family, compound heterozygous manifested more serious symptoms, while heterozygous showed relatively mild symptoms. In addition, it is necessary to differentiate it from primary osteoporosis and other diseases of disturbed bone mineralization.

Objective To investigate the effect of adenovirus-medicated gene therpy with vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)delivered into the subdermal space to treat compromised skin flap in the rat. Methods Thir- ty sprague-dawley rats weighing 350~400g were used in this study. The rats was randomly divided into three groups of ten rats each.A dorsal flap(8cm?2cm)in full thickness with the pedicale located at the leve of the iliaccrest was designed, each, animal received recipient bed subfascial injections of adenovirus encoding VEGF(Ad-VEGF)or green fluorescent protein(Ad-GFP)as treatment control.Another set of animals(n = 10)received NG was designated as control. The flap were elevated as originally designated and sutured back to its bed.The survival rate of the flap was evaluated on day seven after operation. Results The survival rates of the flap in Ad-VEGF group increased signifi- cantly as compared with those of the Ad-GFP group(P

A giant basilar artery aneurysm of young woman with endocrine disturbance was misdiagnosed as a large pituitary adenoma and treated surgically via a trans-sphenoidal approach was planned. But the neurosurgery was finally aborted because of massive bleeding during the procedure. One year later, a cerebral angiography confirmed this basilar artery aneurysm was obviously regressed and then endovascular coiling was successfully performed. No neurological complication occurred post-procedure and the endocrine dysfunction symptom was obviously improved.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(21):-
Objective To explore the influence of feeding styles in early stage on children′s weight in different stages. Methods A complete record of 918 healthy infants was selected and then divided into 3 feeding groups:breast feeding, mixed feeding and artificial fee-ding, according to the way of feeding in the first 6 months after birth. Their weights and heights were measured in the 3rd,5th,8th,12th,18th,24th,60th month to conduct the Z score of weight for age (WAZ), weight for height (WHZ) and the body mass index (BMI) of 60-month-old infants. An investigation on the time of adding auxiliary food was conducted. Results The heavier,WAZ and WHZ of breast feeding group in the 3rd month were higher than the other groups, and the differences were statistially significant(F=4.12, 5.66, 5.79 Pa

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2002;18(2):128-131
AIMOur previous studies showed that electroacupuncture (EA) could inhibited radiant heat induced pain and acute or chronic inflammatory pain in rats. In the present study, we observed whether EA with different frequencies could suppress neuropathic pain.
METHODSL5/L6 nerve ligation model was used to assess the effect of EA on neuropathic pain. Mechanical allodynia was represented by 50% withdrawal threshold, while cold-induced ongoing pain was detected by the number of paw lift in 5 min when the rat was put on a 5 degrees cold plate. Han's acupoint nerve stimulator (HANS) was connected to needles inserted into acupoints "jiaji" and "Zusanli" in both sides. The parameters were: (intensity: 0.5-1-2 mA, 10 min each; frequency 2 Hz or 100 Hz; pulse width: 0.6 ms for 2 Hz, 0.2 ms for 100 Hz).
RESULTSEA of both 2 Hz and 100 Hz could relieve the mechanical allodynia, where 2 Hz could induce the effect with shorter latency; they could also relieve the cold-induced ongoing pain, where the effect of 2 Hz outlasted the EA session by up to 48 h after repetitive stimulations over several weeks; a significant relieving effect on cold-induced ongoing pain could also be induced by needle insertion without stimulation.
CONCLUSIONEA could relieve neuropathic pain, the analgesic effect of 2 Hz EA is higher than 100 Hz EA.
